Environment non-existent, appears after a few seconds
Vhearhok replied to Vhearhok's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I don't think this is a hardware issue because I didn't have this problem to this extent a few months ago. Even when I did have it, it was something that happened gradually long into a save game. i7-2600, GTX 960 & 8gb RAM. -

Vhearhok replied to Vhearhok's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Yeah the second one. I can see the ground, but I have to wait a bit before all of the other stuff appears. -
I tried googling this problem, but I was just flooded with results where people were talking about textures being low res for longer than they should. Often as I'm running around in the wasteland the environment won't load properly and I'm staring at empty space. It's like the buildings, roads, cars etc don't exist, but they appear after 2-15 seconds. This used to only gradually happen long into a save game, but now it's happening even early on. Not using any enb/reshade, large texture overhauls or weather mods. Going to download the Vivid texture series and see if that helps... Is anybody familiar with this issue? Edit: The vivid series didn't seem to help. Think it made it worse o.O

Yeah I assumed higher accuracy was a plus, but the barrels are specialized. Short barrels having improved hip fire accuracy and long barrels having reduced hip fire but improved sighted accuracy leaves me wondering. The scopes tainted the experiment of the steam forum user I'm afraid :(

When NPCs fire their guns, does it count as hip fire or down-the-sight fire? Would be good to know which barrel to use for the guns I give to followers & settlers.

Does anybody know why digital_trucker removed this mod? It was in my NMM list from a while ago, but it seems like he has removed it from the site since then.
-
Using FO4Edit I'd like to remove receivers from, as an example, the 10mm pistol. I want gun damage to remain the same and not be influenced by weapon mods, so I only want receivers that change from semi to auto, or from one kind of ammo to another. How do I remove the other receivers?

How to turn off kill cam? Not the VATS version.
Vhearhok replied to Vhearhok's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Once again you're misunderstanding what I'm talking about. I realize that it was stupid of me to write "kill cam" in the topic headline, but the posts made afterwards ought to have made it clear that I'm talking about the type of killmoves enemies have a chance of doing if your health is below a certain %, like a feral ghoul jumping at you and biting your neck (no I'm not talking about the lunging they often do). -

Sounds like you think I'm talking about VATS o.O *Points at thread title* I'm talking about those execution animations certain enemies do if your health is low enough, like a vicious dog jumping and biting you in the neck like Dogmeat on occasion does to human & ghoul NPCs. -

Installed the mod but NPCs still do killmoves on me =( Edit: A vicious dog just did a killmove on me when I was at full health.... Why would bethesda put this into the game? Were they really that zealous about making players hate melee combat? -

Vhearhok replied to Vhearhok's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
It's not just the player who does them, but yeah those kill moves are what I'm referring to. Human NPCs do them, ghouls do them, vicious dogs do them etc. But thanks, atleast now I have some idea of what records to disable. Only issue is figuring out which ones the NPCs use to kill the player. For example, one is called PairedLegPullTakeDown_NonKill_Player I have no idea whether that means that it is the animation that the player uses, or if it is the animation that NPCs use against the player o.O -

Meh, VATS is like cheating anyway. I recall there being a mod in Skyrim that allowed you to change the kill cam chance to 0, might've been fallout 3 or new vegas. -
I wonder.. is this really hardcore ?....
Vhearhok replied to RelicDuDe's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Agreed. Some people counter argue that it's your own fault for modding the game, to those people I say get the f*#@ off of nexusMODS. Not modding the game was certainly no way to avoid crashing in Skyrim anyway... -
Absolutely infuriating that I keep dying from hits I know I could've dodged or blocked just because the kill cam locks your character before you're even able to tell that the NPC is about to attack. How do I turn this thing off?

Which records affect the damage of NPCs? FO4Edit
Vhearhok replied to Vhearhok's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
How do you know what their unarmed damage values are if the property is not there? o.O Edit: Nevermind, was looking at the wrong record. Do you know if there is any list somewhere that explains what the prefixes mean? Like 'Enc' in 'EncGunnerBossTemplate'? -
I want to change the damage feral ghouls and feral dogs do, but I don't know which records to edit. Anybody knows? Trying to make the lower level ones as strong as the higher level ones, I don't want the level to make a difference when it comes to damage.

I want to be able to put beards on female characters, and makeup on male characters. Anybody have the slightest clue as to how I would accomplish this?
-
Ah, thank you.
-
Is your point that it modifies weapon attack damage? That's not what I meant. What I wanted to know is how do the perks work, like what causes an npc to have perk X. I guess I could've phrased my opening post better.
-
There didn't seem to be any description of them in FO4Edit, or on the fallout wikis I looked at. I just changed all of them to 1.00000, hopefully I didn't muck my game up.

Trying to create a mod where equipment itself is the only factor. I want to remove any perks npcs have that increase or decrease their damage. in Fallout.esm there are a bunch of perks named crDamageXX, does anybody know what they do? Ultimately I'd like to remove leveling from the game, especially any influence level has on damage/damage resistance/health. I want levels to only be relevant to perk progress for the player. Any advice on how to accomplish this would be appreciated. To difficult early on, too easy at higher levels <-- want to avoid this. I want the game to be challenging overall, which is a pain to accomplish. Either you make the lower tier/lower level enemies too easy, or you make the higher tier/higher level enemies too difficult. I want the game to be more difficult, but I don't want to get oneshotted and I don't want them to be bullet sponges.

Delmalki I think you misunderstood what I meant. I was talking about what rules you make up for yourself in your gameplay, and what mods you currently use/have used in order to make the game more difficult. Disappointed to see that not more people responded, I thought alot more people would be into talking about ways to make the game more challenging that involved more than the lazy idea of difficulty bethesda had.
-
Not much came up when I googled ways to make fallout 4 more difficult(in an interesting way), so I was hoping to create a thread where people would share their mod lists/rules they made up. I play on survival, but I do not find the oh so lazy way of making it more difficult fun. Taking forever to kill something is just not fun at all. I tried the ironman thing, but I gave up pretty quickly when I realized how many times I'd be doing the early parts of the game. Would become so very tedious. So the rules I made up were.. No companions. Limited supplies (Only x amount of stimpacks, radaways etc) Only 3 guns (Wanted 2 initially but lack of ammo and the need for variety swayed me) No points in endurance (Upped it to 3 and took the Lifegiver perks after Synths with fully automatic laser pistols infuriated me). Power armor only in special occasions (I liked the feature so I didn't want to eliminate it entirely.) Drop all weapons and armor when you die (Liked it at first as a soft version of ironman, but it just ended up making weapons and armor feel less interesting so I stopped) No weapon or armor storage. If I want a new weapon, I have to discard of my old one not store it for later use. Exceptions for uniques (not legendaries). Some people say that they make a no V.A.T.S rule, but I almost never use it anyway. It feels lik a built-in cheat. Some of the mods I use to make the game more difficult: 1. Fallout 4 Loot Overhaul (Essential) 2. ReBallistic/Locational Damage (I really can't decide which one to use) 3. No enemies on compass 4. Better Explosives (I use superlite, and even with that you'll still die from a missile launcher with the Dense armor mod) 5. Arbitration (The combat AI and stealth modules)
