  1. the only measure I've seen is to backup the executables of the game , and restore them after the update

this way , your game is technically not updates , thus you don't have to wait for the mods to get updated

this was done as a mod for FO4 https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26956/?

maybe you can manually do this for your Skyrim , especially if you know about the updates in advance

there is another much easier way, and no need to play offline.

make sure the stateflag in the appmanifest is 4..meaning up to date...and make that file read-only.

so i start steam and see in the lib there is an update///only thing i need to do is restart steam..the warning is gone, beacuse that flag is still 4... (6 means update avialable..)

thsi is what updationg steam does when you start it , it checks all your stuff to see if there are updates and changes that flag in the manifest to 6.( it cant change if its read-only)

these manifests are in steamapps folder.

    hope its a bit clear.

works very well here....you do need to be aware that when there is an update when you start steam, do a restart...

but i find this a bit easier than going offline.

  2. I ended up using the ultimate fix for my issues. I uninstalled SE and went back to LE and my trouble was over. My fps stays between 50 and 90 @ 1440 p and it looks better. But it is a sad day in video gaming history when a remaster is worse then the original. lol

thats in your case, for most ppl the se loooks and plays better.

you need to tune it right tho, which can be a bit of a hassle.

  3. I have just read your post on textures and as you seem much more knowledgeable about computers and the hardware than I am I was wondering if you could answer a question for me.I have been playing Skyrim for some time and in my last profile with only 83 mods it runs between 50 and 55 degrees C which, from what I understand, is a comfortable cpu range. When I started playing SSE I could play it on Ultra at first although it did run slightly hotter at first however when I added only 39 mods none of which were texture mods it started to run about twenty degrees hotter than original Skyrim. The last time I played it I got a CTD which I believe was caused by over-heating as I checked the temp after the CTD and it was at 75 C; I use Core Temp.I am playing on Windows 7 HP, SP1 with a GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard, 16 gig DDR3 memory, a GTX 970 gpu, 500 gig SSD storage, a 750 Watt power source, and a AMD FX 8320-Vishera cpu. My question is do you think I need a better cooling system or is some other factor at play that would cause this over-heating.

the diff is..the old skyrim is dx9..uses more cpupower

new skyrim is dx11 uses more gpu power..., but usullay also more cpu..basically the se version uses hardwarepower differently.

  4. Is there a way to disable the Bethesda order?? I'm not sure but i'm suspicious about it, because i believe I was having crashes because my LOOT load order wasn't real.

ofcourse you can, by usng an external mod organiser like nexus mod manager or wrye bash.

you have much much more control that way and it helps immensely with debugging.

if you really are serious about using mods, thats the way to go.

  5. maybe you installed a translated mod? there are a few of those.

as far as i know , there is no italian text in vanilla.. supposing language has been set to english in the desktop?

so somehow you must have added that.

  6. thats difficult, one thing i see is, (altho it has probably no bearing on the problem)

you use cot and truestorm, there is a patch to let them work better together.

i also wonder why darker nights and cots??? cots will override them, i bet.

you do need to read the mod descriptions carefully.

is this list ordered by loot? and you got the latest versions of the mods...?

heehhe they joy of playing with mods.

i do it with a smallish list only, say about 30 to 40 max.

    good luck

  7. your loadorder is wayyy off. and i see overlapping mods

you really need to learn the ins and outs of modding.

the use of mods is the users respoinsability, and oh yes you can get help here.

you need to use loot to order the mods..(or do it manually)

my advice, go back to stage one, meaning no mods, new game

then slowly add them mods, all the time reading what they do and how they shoudl order.

yes that a work, but when done properly the reward is a crashfree (practically) game for hours and hours.

beware of the fact, if you remove a mod , the save can have stiull stuff in it..so you can have a problem there.

always save before adding a mod, so you can fall back properly.

    good luck

  8. I've tried disabling and I still get the crash - could my save game be the issue at this point? I haven't seen a save game cleaner for SSE released yet.

thsi sounds like a corrupted save to me.

you need to try it with a save from before you added that mod.............

if you disable a mod, the save, can, just can, become corrupted, meaning in it are references for that mod ..mod gone,,crash obviously.

  9. there is no need to use the bethesda one with nmm or wb at all.

and sorting order shoudl always be checked, i mean with the mods descrptions.

in some cases loot can make mistakes..tho its a great startting point.

  10. funny considering there are many posts where he answered in a day or less. But thanks for insulting me. and re affirming my belief about the modding community. Toxic.

And if you read his thread more closely, youd realize, like i have that with him, aswell as many others. He ignores quite a lot. as does most of the modders. Im seeing quite a few that have up to a week with no answers. and yet others that have less then two days. So why dont you follow your own advice and have a lovely day mister admin.

I fully expect to be banned from the forums as that seems to be the only logical immature action that most internet based admins do, rather than support. Easier i suppose.

    the sooner the better.

i didnt really want to respond, but i cant help myself.

there seems to be a new breed of gamers around(lots of them on steam), that when the slightets thing goes worng, immediately go blame everyting, except thier own

    ignorance.......

i am very very thankfull for the moddders to give me an added experience.

  11. if you have it for free, just try it out.

experiences as usual differ very much.

for me , no way to look back, it runs smoother, looks better and is way more stable.

already more than 2000 mods ported. maybe its wise to lookup first if your favs are done. .i dont miss the not having skse at all.

but.. ..some ppl seem to have a lot of problems with it , mainly due to ignorance, its obvious quite a few ppl do NOT know how to use mods properly.

    good luck
