Thanks for responding! Yup I found the punch perm mod after I wrote this thread (was just recently added). I think it works as intended. The second mod though I believe only changes his appearance during combat and not during freeroam or cutscenes (according to the posts in the mod thread heh). Thanks again!

Not sure if anyone reads this forum (given there's only one other thread lol), but I'm wondering if there's any mod for giving Ichiban a shorter hairstyle? I'm not a fan of the long default hairstyle, had the same issue in Witcher 3 and ended up making a mod myself there. Is it relatively easy to mod textures in this game as well? If so, anyone have a guide to do so? Might just do it myself. Or would it be as easy as copying his buzzcut texture to replace the long hair one? Or if there's any way to give Ichiban Han's hairstyle? Thanks!

I have looked into ENBs a bit, I guess the reason I didn't pick that is because it seemed more involved. I know it wouldn't be complicated to learn, but I already feel like I spend more time working on mods and reading about the game than actually playing it haha. I know ENBs involve installing other stuff and then open up a ton of new options, it all feels like a ton more research, I'm very indecisive lol. I feel like it'll delay me playing by at least another week just going through it all :/

Ah okay, thank you for the detailed response :) Am I correct them to assume that if I just wanted to try out different lighting mods, I could just make a new save, use that to install them one by one (never actually saving but just looking around), then pick one and go back to my old save (which I didn't use during this) and that should be fine? Also another side question, if you are having an issue and want to see the cause, is it okay to uninstall a mod to see if it is the cause and then just start a save, look to see, and then close the game without saving? Then after just turn the mod back on if it wasn't the cause? I was told that it doesn't matter what you do if you don't save, just wanted to confirm that is true. Thanks!

If I installed one and opened an old save inside a Dwemer Ruin and saw how it looked, and then closed the game, uninstalled it and installed a different one and opened the same old save to see? It is the same character as my main save file but a save maybe 3-4 saves back. Not really sure how modding works but I have read plenty of times that you shouldn't uninstall mods if you can help it. So I figured I'd ask before trying. If this won't work, is there a simple way to go about doing this? Thanks! Using SSE btw and Nexus Mod Manager.

SSE Is there a mod to turn off camera shake and/or light bursts in the sky?
norekp replied to norekp's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
I installed Vivid Weathers which helps a bit with the outdoor light flashes. It does not get rid of them so I doubt I will start using spells like fireball and chain lighning outdoors but it definitely helps with the glaringly bright lights outdoors. Here's the difference it made in my game: As for camera shake, all I have managed to find so far is a mod that turns it off for just Mammoths. I'm sure plenty of people who get motion nausea would appreciate a no camera shake mod lol. Not sure why a game in this day and age doesn't have one, surely ONE developer at Bethesda has motion nausea .... -
I found one that I like for anyone having the same issue, Vivid Weathers. It makes the exteriors so much less bright and lets you have options for nighttime and interior brightness (if you feel that the more realistic lighting mods for interiors are too dim and cause you to squint too much lol). Here's the difference it did in my game:

I have spent a lot of time looking at a ton of the comparison videos on youtube and what not, but cannot seem to find one I like. I also read that uninstalling mods like these mid game can be troublesome and so I didn't want to just install a bunch. The thing is I get motion nausea and recently the crazy lighting outdoors and during spell usage has been giving me headaches. Someone recommended the console command teofis and it actually did feel nicer (although maybe lost a bit too much vibrancy) but as you might know it turns off the ability to see menus lol. Not realising how much of a difference lightning made until then, I started looking into lighting mods. My issue with a lot of the mods is that the interiors become too dim. Although I enjoy immersion, I do so to an extent. In particular I already find vanilla dungeons too dark (even with a torch lol) and dislike having to squint to look for loot as this also causes headaches for me. I also don't want to increase contrast between areas at all, and a lot of these mods tend to increase the contrast between lit and unlit areas. I get this is more realistic but again it just makes it more difficult when you're moving around a lot and colours tend to swirl more because of the higher contrast. To summarise, I mostly just want a lighting mod that will make the outdoor areas less bright and annoying without making me have to squint indoors. The goal is to decrease the amount of nausea and headache-inducing effects so I can play longer lol. I already have mods which turn off bloom, adaptation and radial blur. Any recommendations appreciated :)

Hey guys, I'm looking for a mod that removes camera shake from the game. I get motion nausea, and I already have the No Stagger mod and the motion nausea be gone mod, which help a lot. However, neither removes camera shaking. Before it wasn't much of an issue as it only happened against giant enemies like dragons and mammoths. But recently I changed from archery to spellcasting, and having the camera shake every time you cast fireball or a number of other spells is a bit much. I tried google and there were a few mods in oldrim like SkyTweak and No More Blizzard Shake mods (so it must be possible to remove), but it would be cool to have a simple mod that just removes camera shake altogether. It's very surprising to have a game these days with this feature not built in, especially since developers should know by now how many people get nausea and headaches from these things, which makes playing such an awesome game difficult. As a side note, if anyone also knows of any mods that remove how the ENTIRE sky flashes when you use fireball or chain lightning or etc, that would also be helpful. Not as big a deal as the screen shaking, but also very annoying. Not sure how a spell can cause the entire sky to flash or why it is even necessary after the spell already causes a huge explosion on the ground anyway. In any case, thank you for any help. I'm sure I'm not the only person who gets motion nausea or headaches who would appreciate a no camera shaking mod :)

Character spazzes out when rotating camera, help
norekp replied to norekp's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Update/Edit: Well I figured out why I never noticed it before. I have been playing this whole time as a ranger and decided to change to a spellcaster for some variety. This stuttering seems to ONLY happen when having a spell equipped (whether in R or L or both hands). When I use a bow, 2h, or dual 1h, the character moves smoothly as you rotate the camera in place.... I turned off most of my mods, including the ones I listed above and went to a really early save to see if this still happened, which is when I noticed it is only happening when equipping spells. Kind of annoying, I was really looking forward to playing a mage for a bit before trying melee later :( Any ideas on what might be causing this? -
I'm not quite sure if this has always been happening and I never noticed it or if it just started happening. The problem is whenever I rotate the camera while the character is standing in place with weapons drawn, the entire body stutters/spazzes, especially the legs. There is no stuttering or fps drop from the environment or anything else (the rest of the world looks super smooth as the camera rotates). It is literally just the actual character, which is what confuses me. It might be mod related which is why I'm posting here. I recently downloaded Immersive Armors and crafted a bunch of them and as I was trying them on, that's what I noticed it first. The last 2 mods I installed before that were No Stagger Mod and No Collision Between Actors SSE Edition. Not sure if it is any of those. I don't use many mods. The only other big mods I have are the Unnoficial Patch and Immersive Jewelry. Again, I'm not sure if this has been happening a while and I never noticed it, it's not often I'm looking at the avatars legs while rotating in place with weapons drawn, usually in combat you're moving around and looking at the enemies. This doesn't happening when moving around btw, it seems to appear something like the game cannot keep up with the leg movement as his body turns when he's standing in place, so it stutters the body. Oh one last thing I changed was the iVSyncInterval or whatever it is called setting in the skyrimpref.ini file from 1 to 0 (although I checked VSync is on in the Nvidia Control Panel). I changed this because I noticed a few days ago the camera seems to stutter when going up some stairs. It didn't fix that issue, but since it is only a few random stairs that this was happening to, I decided to ignore it. But this character stuttering is a bit harder to ignore lol. Anyway thanks!

Just wondering if it is a texture or something else that causes the entire sky and surroundings to flash momentarily every time Geralt uses Igni. I wanted to play an Igni build but it gives me a headache. I already tried darkening every single fire/flare/explosion texture in the base game and a few in the expansions (about 30 or so textures) but all it did was make the actual igni blast dark, the flashing light is as bright as ever. Noticed the same flash happens when you use Aard, except the sky flashes white with aard and a light bright red with igni. If anyone knows which texture it is please let me know, thanks!

I am trying to figure out how to change colours in a complex texture like armour textures. So far when I do it sometimes has ramifications like changing skin colour or eye colour or other random things. I have been using the Replace Colour, Rotate Colour and simple paintbrush tools on GIMP to try to change colours, but they sometimes don't work. The desaturate option to simply get rid of the colour however did work. I read the eye colour tutorial here: https://forums.cdprojektred.com/forum/en/the-witcher-series/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt/mod-discussions/61645-the-tutorial-compendium along with a number of the other tutorials. I utilised ModKitchen to uncook the mods and locate the correct tga file that I then edit with GIMP. I guess what I am asking is if I wanted to change the colour of say something complex like Geralt's hair or beard or a witcher set armor, what is the best method? Replace colour on the entire texture tga picture doesn't seem to work because it just creates a ton of little dots of the new colour. Rotate colour seems to be best but it sometimes recolours body parts. And simply using the paintbrush or clone tool to manually recolour things don't seem to show up in the game (I tried this method to get rid of the swigly decorations on the Mandragora Mask but they still show up in game). I am always working with the diffuse texture file I should mention. Do I need to also edit the s, n or a texture files instead? Or if anyone knows of a good tutorial that goes into all that, it would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Hey guys, having some difficulty with texture mods I'm making with Mod Kitchen. They are all simple recolouring or other minor alterations to an armor or other texture, nothing fancy. Some of them, like my recolour for wolf armor level 1 show up in game correctly but others like my recolour for Mandragora Mask do not. I built them both with Mod Kitchen and doublechecked the path to make sure it was all spelt correctly. I built them both using the exact same steps as well. The weird thing is the Mandragora Mask mod still changes Geralt's eye's to a new colour (which I am guessing is because when I recoloured it I recoloured the eyesocket section of the tga texture file too). So I understand why that happened and how to fix it but I don't understand why the rest of the mask isn't recoloured in that case. I not only recoloured it but I used the paint tool on GIMP to delete the swigly decorations on the mask, to make it more of a plain mask, but those decorations are not gone either. I attached all my folders for the Mandragora Mod zipped (including Packed, Uncooked, Unedited, Modded, etc.). If any expert could take a look and tell me what I'm doing incorrectly? Thanks!

Which mods are you trying to merge? I'm not an expert or even a programmer by any means (so please take my advice with that in mind haha) but one thing I noticed is when you are trying to fix the unsolved conflicts that the merger cannot solve you can sometimes select the line from both B and C (in other words the 2 conflicting mods, not A from vanilla). Sometimes this still doesn't work since it'll mess with the code anyway but since fixing that is as simple as deleting the merge it doesn't matter much. Or if one of the two optional lines in an unsolved conflict starts with // that means it is just a comment I believe so you can choose the other option. And if that doesn't work the best advice I can give would be to just not use one of the 2 conflicting mods, kind of lame I know but you just have to choose your favourite of the two and uninstall the other.

Hey guys, could anyone explain how to install this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1026/? From the comments section it looks like someone got it to work in 1.31 GoG GOTY edition, which is what I have. I tried installing both the 1.21.0 and 1.12.1 files with the NMM but noticed no change in the damage of firestream before or after for either. Does anyone know how I should install these, there are no instructions for manual install listed so I'm not sure and the NMM method isn't working. Also I am wondering which file of the 2 I should install. I'm quite new to modding, so if anyone does know, please leave detailed instructions that even an idiot could follow haha :) Thanks!

Specifically I am using the short hair mod so really just wanted something to change the scalp hair colour although a mod that changes all the hair colours would be cool too. I located the one that does black hair but was wondering if there was a way to do light brown or dark blonde or even ginger? Yes I know it breaks lore and all that but for those of us that aren't that bothered by that, changing hair colour would be cool. Anyway if anyone can make a mod for that or even could explain how I can try to do so myself. Thanks!

Hello, new here. I saw there were a few mods that changed the default female Ryder. I was wondering if anyone could create a mod that would make the male default Ryder have golden blonde hair and silver blue eyes - wanted him to look more like my boyfriend. I tried the custom Ryder options and they were all not attractive. Or if someone could point me to a tutorial on how I could create such a mod myself - if it is relatively simple - that would be amazing! Thank you so much!
