  1. I see. Of course this is not a game-breaking issue, just like the other two. I just thought that since apparentlly I'm not the only one who is annoyed by this. maybe there are some fixes. But I am surprized that this slipped past Beth's quality assurance... I should have mentioned that I am talking about 1st person view. If i'll force 3rd person view (through killcam mod option) then this most likely won't be an issue anymore, but still. Making screenshot is quite tricky, but generally - something like this Breton has an average height, I expect this animation look perfect with them... btw this dude I am attacking here is a nord. Not only it is far from the actual neck, it barely touches the head (unless you use something longer than a dagger...)
  2. Hi guys. I hope you can help me out here, or actually I believe that solutions might be somewhere there but I haven't found the correct ones. SO please point me to the right direction. I have 3 issues with Skyrim. First is so called "bolt stuck in my hand" when I load the game and character happened to have a crossbow+bolts equiped. I googled a lot on this one and many people seem to have this issue and suggest quite a lot of solutions like drop bolts and pick up, place in container and get them back, open racemenu and change sex and so on. I did all of that, but that "stuck" bolt keeps returning. I take that it might be not solvable without a mod... any ideas? This happens since the very 1st time I recieve a crossbow. Second is a Courier Nord in hearhfire. I only own one heathfire home at this moment - Windstad Manor. When I just bought the land and got there, I've met a Courier there. Don't quite remember what message he delivered, but the problem is, now he stays near my house and never goes away. How to get rid of him? I gogled on this too. People had this issue with other house and suggested the following: - Wait, Courier always stays for some time in a place where he gives you a message - does not works for me, its already more than 5 times of that time when he vanishes. - Go to some city and "moveto player" him with a console - not working for me, he keeps walking back and eventually arrives back to my house. - Make him not essential, kill him, drag the body away, revive him - not working. he keeps walking back Any suggestions? I don't want to remove him permanently, I want to make him go whre he came from! :D I even tried to chace him away by turning into a (very hungry) Vampire Lord... That bastard still comes back! Third issue is an old one and is present since the first Skyrim release. Basically when I am sneaking with a dagger behind someone, kill him in one shot and "slit throat" killmove plays - player's dagger actually slits target's scalp instead of a throat ^^ I am using VioLens as a kilmove mod, but it does not solves this issue. However I believe like year ago I saw a mod that was fixing this. Anyway, any tips? My character is a default height Breton, haven't used something like race menu on him ever so I'm positive that's not a side effect of something else. ---- I expect that I'll have to use some mods for all of the above, but if there is a way to fix it without a mod, I'll be great of course.
  3. Not sure what do you mean... stamina drain happens when you sprint (which is the fifth speed you can move with) The 4 speeds I mentioned do not drain your stamina. I do not want to simply walk faster, I want to be able to turn on "second and third gear" (with their default vanilla values) which are not exposed to a keyboard user by default. And do this without affecting NPCs so that this won't introduce gameplay changes and will allow you to walk alongside them smoothly (Quest NPCs use fastwalk very often) Unless I don't see something obvious (in which case please explain me how to configure these mods to achieve wanted results): 1st mod changes both player and NPC speed at the same time and only covers walking modes #1 and #4 If I'll find out what values are used for "fast walk" and will assign them to "walk" with this mod, this will also affect NPCs 2nd mod basically prevents NPCs from using Fastwalk and Jog. 3rd mod is something totally different. Also as people report, messing with speed modes #1(walk) and #4(run) has side effects beyond simply gameplay changes. Most likely due to some stuff being scripted in some particular way. Thus giving access to FastWalk and Jog without altering anything else seems to be the only proper way. By simply altering some values, it is not possible to achieve desired results. Some scripting is required. probably even SKSE. Edit: something lke this:
  4. It will be cool to have a mod that adjusts player's walking speed. There are 4 speeds: walk, fastwalk, jog and run. All of these can be used by NPC. Player, on the other hand, must have a controller to utilize fastwalk and jog. Ideal version of the mod: Allows player to access 2 additional walking speeds and bind keyboard keys to them. So that it will be possible to, lets say make "W" key to be always fastwalk. While some other unused key we will set to "slow walk". Lite version of the mod: Personally I don't see much use for jog, unless you already finished all quests possible and just jog now and then to make sure that your character won't get fat ^^ So to minimize the amount of work while keeping the mod useful, the slow walking speed for player can be replaced with fastwalk permanently, without messing with keys or anything else. I do walk a lot but I think default walk speed is only useful for sightseeing. There are some mods that deal with speeds. Some of them make speed faster for both NPC and Player, some make only NPC as slow as player, but none of them seem to be doing what I described above (though I'd like to be proved wrong). Note: these changes should not affect NPCs in any way. Player's running speed should also be the same. Personally I have no clue how to implement this. Maybe something like: figure out what gets triggered when controller sends a command to use fastwalk and somehow trigger it through a mod. Thanks. Edit: oh I forgot to mention. It seems walking speed also depends on player race/height. That obviously should stay untouched too. All I ask is to get acces to all (or at least fastwalk) vanilla movement speeds using a keyboard.
  5. WTF? I believe I've left a comment here. Where did it go? If someone is unhappy that I am bumping this thread, will you be happy if I'll make a new one with exact same contents and a link here so that people can see that I'm not the only one who wants such a mod? Feel free to split this message into a separate thread if you think this will be better. Shouldn't be more work than deleting it. Okay, take2: This torch thingy is just a oversight from Beth, if not to call it a bug. Unless I missed a fix for it, will be cool if someone can try to make one. Would be nice to have it in something like SMPC, but a standalone mod is ok of course. If Falskaar really have this fixed, maybe it is possible to extract just this fix from it. Cause installing it only for the sake of torch is an overkill. Also I believe Oblivion had these torches (while mounted) at the correct position, maybe it is possible to use that somehow. As for the argument that you can't control a horse while holding a torch, this argument is invalid. Firstly you do can control a horse with just legs. Depends on the rider skills and horse's training, but more importantly in vanilla skyrim character has no problems using a BOW, so torch shouldn't be a problem at all.
