  1. Having finished the model and textured it in Max, I exported the file (a castle) as an NIF file. I also converted the texture maps into DDS files including their normal maps. I used FO3 to export every file from every BSA file in Skyrim into the /data folder. I opened the NIF model into NifSkope. I can see it. However, there are a bit over 30 NiTriStrips. It is at this point I'm completely stuck on understanding the alchemy of NifSkope. I figured geniuses on here would know. 1. I can't get my textures to load onto my model in the viewport. 2. What are the steps necessary for me to prepare the NIF to be brought into CK? 3. How do I get CK to recognize the files? I made a new folder within /data/meshes/architecture/castle as well as a /data/texture/architecture/castle, but the NIF and DDS files placed in there aren't getting loaded when I load up the Skyrim data file in CK. I feel like I'm totally over my head on getting the Max file into Skyrim because there is such a lack of tutorials and guides online showing a step-by-step. All I keep seeing are "I'm going to show you how to take an existing daedric sword, move 2 vertices, and then get it int Skyrim." It hardly fits the need for architecture.
  2. I have moved over to this forum, which seems to be the official ones for CK. There are quite a few there with the same issue. The number of people are up to around 10, which is still hardly enough for Beth to make any care about us.   4. I am not sure about the OP, but his description is PRECISELY what mine is doing. It all occurs on launching CK. There is absolutely nothing we are doing besides booting it up. I have tried through Steam, I have tried using the Shortcut on my desktop. There are no options to continue. It gives the classic Windows 7 "Creation Kit has stopped working." and your only option is the Close button. It crashes PRECISELY when it is launching during the "Initializing Windows." The actual program window appears along with the CK splash logo. But it does not load fully. There are several now with this same problem, so it is becoming more of an issue than I had thought. I really wish there was an Official Forums for Skyrim that we could address the devs and not Nexusmods.
  5. I registered just to comment here. I have the exact same problem. This has been the ONLY PLACE I have found anyone mentioning it. It crashes right on launch with "Creation Kit has stopped working" right when it is Initializing Windows. Glad to see it's not my computer specifically and potentially a bug. I have yet to find ANY INFORMATION on this and it's highly frustrating as everyone else seems to have no issues. Windows 7 64-bit 64 Bit i7-2600K proc 16 GB RAM 2 GB nVidia card
