  1. I can't see any of my post history, and it used to be the only way to keep up with my posts as I could never remember where I posted, but still wanted to see if I had replies. I can only see my post history from the oldest post to 5 or 8 posts after that, and that's useless.

  2. Skyrim SE: I know there is a mod that changes the display area and size for subtitles, but I can't for the life of me find it. I might have it already installed, I have SkyHud and SkyUI installed, and my subtitles are a couple pixels from the bottom of my screen and very large. Is there something I'm overlooking that edits subtitles?

  3. As far as I can tell you need to register the game with steam to play it anyway, so there's not much to do about it. You should be able to register your CD Key in steam and have the game in there. If you think you bought a legit version that does not require steam, you probably were scammed into buying a pirated copy that is pre-cracked.

  4. HA NO WAYI I just put this computer together last week. I swear i thought i was buying a dual core. That rocks though. How did I miss that?

But yeah, that tweak fixed my crashes. I even added the max texture and bumpmap replacements and its still going smooth.

I always move lings down a step when I do my load order. the BOSS sorter in FOMM thinks it needs to be there. So far i haven't encountered any conflicts. My biggest problem is that I just got to big town and bittercup is hostile, a la the BOGized bittercup mod I believe. Oh that and I can't restore from alt-tabbing out. :/ Not a deal breaker but it is annoying when I'm trying to, say, fix bittercup with console commands. anyway, thanks for the posts, I appreciate it.

  5. Did you limit your CPU to use only two cores? That would effect your performance. Is the game loaded into Program Files? What is the model of video card do you have? Which plugin is not activated?

It's only a 2 core CPU, the game is in C:\Games\Fallout 3, I have this video card, and the plug in is Underground Hideout, which I just deactivated to see if it was causing problems, cause it was the last one I added. Do any of these not play well?

  6. So I recently got my mods working, I had to hand install them then use FOMM to do it's thing, and it WAS working. Then I used the console to give me a stealth boy so I could sneak into Sheriff Simm's place before I started the main event. It was about this time that the game started freezing after approximately 20 seconds when I did not load a new area, for example, If i ran into a house, and then ran out, then into another one, then out of megaton, It would freeze between me leaving megaton and getting to the gas station just outside town. It was working fine before I used the console, so I'm not sure what the real problem is. I was going to try to make Fallout 3 large address aware, and see if that worked, but past that I am at a loss. Here is my load order and specs

Thinking about it, I might need to do a merged patch? I'm not sure how to do that beyond knowing it involves Fo3edit. Any tips or pointers are appreciated. Oh I DID at one point have NEMM installed, but Uninstalled it when it in favor of FOMM. I launch this with FOSE from FOMM, if that's an issue

  7. If you are using the current version of FOMM (0.13.21), try using an earlier version. Also, make sure you have an internet connection when you open Package Manager and instead of entering your information, just click Log In. If that doesn't work, create a folder in your "Games" directory for "Bethesda Softworks" and move your entire Fallout 3 file into it.

This would change your path to C:\Games\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\Fallout3.exe.

I moved it, and then the launcher broke, and so i moved it back, and now FOMM seems to work... My computer did update again. So I must have been missing some critical resource somewhere that FOMM relied on. I got the version I am using from the new vegas nexus. Anyway, problem solved, even though I have no clue what really happened. I bet it was the window updates.

would not having SP1 be a problem? I thought i had everything installed, but it appears windows 7 wants to slowly install all the updates....

  9. Go here and download and print: http://zumbs.wordpress.com/2009/11/08/fomm-and-fomods-for-dummies-1/

Also, make sure your Fallout is not installed where the UAC has control.

Fallout is installed in a C:\Games\Fallout3, so thats not the problem. Most of my problem stems from FOMM not working. It will load up, and i can get to the package manager, but every time I try to do something, like enter my user and pass for this site, or add a mod to the list, it just crashes. I'm on a 64bit Win7 install with an intel chipset. Nvidia card.... my system is pretty beefy, i just built it.

  10. new to the game. I have found the threads that describe installing mods, however they all say that you need to install FOMM and then load it that way. My problem is that whenever I try to do something in FOMM, it just closes and generates an error dump:

I'm used to installing mods by hand, so I'm not concerned about that, (also note, the noob guide on this site leads to a "not found" blank page) so if i can just find a guide that doesn't rely on FOMM like all my mods want, I would be a happy camper.
