Hey guys, I've been having trouble with this for a while. I'm trying to add more idle dialogue for my custom NPC follower. I already edited the files and lines that I want. Now comes the matter of putting it into my custom NPC's dialogue topics in the dialogue view. Thing is, I'm really confused on how to work with the CK to pull this off. Tutorials I've looked up only ended up confusing me more, as what I want to do is use the already existing vanilla voice lines for the NPC, not record my own. (Similar to what Vanilla voice expansion and RDO have done) Thanks!

Strange thing happened just now when I was playing. I go to solitude to do the Wolfskull cave quests, I return to Whiterun to store all my loot and stuff, but here's the strange part: The door to Breezehome does not function, I hit the E key to let me in, but it keeps playing the (can't use) sound effect each time I try, and I can't enter breezehome at all. Any suggestions or mod fixes would be appreciated...

Texture Multiple color glitch
LonesomeDrifter replied to LonesomeDrifter's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
It worked! Thanks. I never would have guessed that was the issue... -
Hi. I'm having this mod that replaces the scimitar's texture, and the textures are showing up all miscolored. Like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/cseavfklsnd0g49/TESV%202014-03-06%2023-47-49-92.png I don't know why this is happening and I can't seem to find a fix for it. Any help would be appreciated.

Skyrim's Radiant AI Downgraded?

Very true, sometimes the little things like immersion enhancers really do add more polish to the game, even when some people see it as unnecessary.- 34 replies

From the mod's description, it only seems to allow the PLAYER to arrest NPC's, which is not quite what I'm looking for. According to Reneer himself, it seems that coding a guard to arrest a player proves rather difficult, as there is no 'crime gold' or any instance of an NPC with the ability to steal from others. Makes me kind of miss Oblivion a little...

LE Sword Request: Zar'roc (from Eragon, or the Inheritance Cycle)
LonesomeDrifter replied to Issa 5's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
This mod was already done, you should look for it on the nexus by typing eragon or zarroc or whatever and it should still be available. -
The same guy who made Reneers Crime overhaul for both Oblivion and Skyrim should probably consider this... I just found the Oblivion version and that had the guard arrest NPC feature that I'm surprised the Skyrim version lacked. I know NPC's don't often attack people 'cause the NPC AI didn't program many thieves and hostiles and such, so it makes sense that Bethesda didn't add an AI package to arrest NPC's. But I still think this would be pretty neat little attention to detail type mod if anyone wants to have a go at making it.

Skyrim's Radiant AI Downgraded?
LonesomeDrifter replied to LonesomeDrifter's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Glad you're enjoying this thread. :) I do agree with you on the cities part. It does seem that Bethesda assumed people would spend more time away from the city and more time in dungeons or forts. Guess that's why NPC's aren't as dynamic as they should be. They probably guessed no one would notice. Then again, that is why mods like AI OVerhaul and Interesting NPC's exist, to fill the empty space that Bethesda didn't fill.- 34 replies

Skyrim's Radiant AI Downgraded?
LonesomeDrifter replied to LonesomeDrifter's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I'm not sure exactly how many copies were sold, but Oblivion remained one of the top selling games per year on the 360 and PC until 2010. Plenty of ARPGs have dynamic AI on at least some characters. The fact that Skyrim's was stripped down so much is pretty disappointing for a game that sells itself as "another life in another world." Clearly it did pretty well. True, but there was no need to cut down an AI like that after already establishing it in Oblivion on a pretty dated engine. They could have done more with it, but they decided not to. So many characters don't even sleep at night, heck, hunters are never really seen hunting out in the woods. It seems the only characters who have any sort of dynamic schedule are the few that are related to Quests, like the guy from Morthal who does necromancy at late hours of the night... It just makes most characters in the game seem so uninteresting, you finish a quest for them and they become your friend and...that's all the interaction you have with them. It would have been redeemed with broader dialogue options, favor quests or other mechanics that could help develop their characterization. Maybe Bethesda should take hints from the Vilja mod... In contrast, I just revisited Anvil in Cyrodiil at night, and the only people walking the roads are like three or four city guards, everyone else is asleep at home.- 34 replies

Skyrim's Radiant AI Downgraded?
LonesomeDrifter replied to LonesomeDrifter's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I agree. Even in Oblivion some Dark Brotherhood contracts were amazingly dynamic because the target would be walking between towns. In Skyrim they seem to have cut an alarming amount of that out. *Sigh* Remember when a sequel didn't make you worry that they'd remove some of the best gameplay mechanics? Bethesda has been chopping stuff out in the name of polish ever since Daggerfall. Some NPCs make idle conversation with each other, at least, though not nearly as many as Oblivion. I second that wholeheartedly. I wonder how many PC copies of Oblivion were sold in the intervening years... I hate how all these companies have to tone down content just to please a mass audience. I mean, simply creating dynamic character AI can't be that difficult or demanding, they managed to do it in Oblivion, what was stopping them now? One recent game that sold pretty well (especially at retail) and had some form of dynamic NPC behavior was The WItcher 2. Do today's games have to hand-hold everyone these days 'cause they can't handle a little scavenger hunt, or hate being challenged altogether?- 34 replies

Skyrim's Radiant AI Downgraded?
LonesomeDrifter replied to LonesomeDrifter's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Me too friend, me too. Yeah, I remember when all the anvil guards all just drew their swords and killed the blacksmith right as he entered the room. Checking his corpse I saw hat he had a broom, bread and a candlestick in his inventory. I know I said I would never go back to Oblivion when I first played Skyrim, but now, three years later, I kind of miss Oblivion...- 34 replies

Does the civil war overhaul looks like an official DLCs?
LonesomeDrifter replied to toadguy's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Unfortunately it is plagued with bugs that are sometimes unavoidable at least in my playthrough of it. The farthest I could go was the Rift, right after Dawnstar. As I tried to get new orders from Rikke after I get information from Riften's steward, she restarts the Dawnstar Courier quest instead of advancing to the next stage. Very odd. But at that point I had it with the mod and uninstalled it. Since then I never, and do not plan to, touch it again until most of these bugs are fixed if ever. -

That too. Thank Bethesda for the modding community... I can't imagine playing the console versions for this very reason...those poor guys don't even have their DLC (at least the PS3 gamers)- 34 replies
