  1. It is available at DAI_Tools here: Texture replacer for CC faces http://i.imgur.com/e0TF93e.jpg
  2. New tool and new version for patch maker, should fix UI problems some mods were having.
  3. Yes there is a way to import customized head textures. Not mesh. But gives you decent makeup, tattoos and eyebrows :) http://i.imgur.com/e0TF93e.jpg
  4. hehehe it seems no one expected our tools heh ? Well it helps we got the guys who did Mass Effect3 ME3xplorer and the guy who did Bioshock and Skyrim mods to help ;) Check us out http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/37/?
  5. Oh wow, it seems i have been reinventing the wheel! I went through the dame process making a drell mod. Like you, i opted to pick a human head and tweak the coloring. I thought about using "hair" for the drell head ridges, think it would work ok on Drells since they are not too big. One thing I am trying is to add a head mesh with no ears. I'm almost there. I noticed you had the same problem I did with the body color being off. on steam http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/3985/thaneskyrim.jpg http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/8418/72850screenshots2012061.jpg http://www.forbidden/uploads/monthly_06_2012/post-20271-0-05186300-1339538769_thumb.jpg PS: I talk about the process here on VGU
  6. Yay, ty, ya it helps, as you guessed i am up to my elbows in nifscope :P Unfortunately, it has to be a personal mod, as the character is copyright BW. But I can post here the steps needed to import any character :) How to Import a character into skyrim: I think the easiest way is what I did: Create a Male Argonian companion / spouse, then altering dialogs to use your import's voice. It is pretty clean cut as the only Skyrim Male Argonian companion/ spouse is pretty isolated in the game and doesn't interact with any ongoing story and missions. Male Kahjeets wont work, you will mess with Jzargo's dialogs, same for male dark elves or other race. (Instead of making new dialog topics, you can do what i did and just use the creation kit to record over the Male Argonian prompts for DialogFollower, RelationshipMarriage and even some Dialog Generic /Hello/ goodbye prompts). This is the point I am at: I have a Male Argonian NPC called Thane Krios (from Mass Effect 2) located on Dragonsbridge tavern, I am able to get him to follow me or marry me and his voice uses sound files ripped from mass effect. (which makes it fair use for my personal use since i own both games, but very illegal to distribute it  ) What's left to do: I have Thane's body and head ripped into 3ds max files so i can get a ".obj" file out of it and import it into nifscope and save as a skyrim compatible nif. This is not as easy as the voice dialogs because as you said above, I need to make sure vertex weights and shading are compatible. I might not make another race and just use armor for the body and create a new "hairstyle" or helmet for the head. Not sure yet. I did fiddle with NPC Editor and a male argonian head but couldn't get rid of the snout so it is useless to make a "Thane" face. In short, importing from a pre-existing toon into skyrim is possible but a lot of work and illegal to distribute. I am doing it to learn skyrim modding so is not that big of a deal but whoever else thinks about doing it be forewarned: lots of work and only you can see it. :P http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/5650/nifscope.jpg
  7. I am doing it, making a Thane Krios, from Mass Effect 2 follower. Since it is my first mod it is going slowly. To speed up things I made a follower NPC copying the Argonian follower Derkeetus. He is the only Argonian tthat can a follower. He can also marry the Dragonborn. His involvement with the whole story is minimal which is good because i am using his NPC instead of creating my own. So far I got the following steps - Create a new NPC follower - done - Create marriage enabled NPC - done - Voice acting - works Here is why I have to use Derkeetus: you can make a new voice type but it won't trigger companion / marriage dialogs if you don't use an existing voice. Male Argonian voice type is perfect. The only npc that uses the companion and marriage dialog trees is Derkeetus so you can alter it directly and your character will speak what you want and it won't affect the other male argonians in slyrim since none of them are followers or marriage material. Instead of trying to create things from scratch, jJust go on the dialog tree for Male Argonian and record the new sentences saving over the existing files. Make sure you are only altering follower speech.I have already changed every follower dialog to be on the voice of Thane. Now I just need to change the marriage tree and some generic dialog and the voice part is done. - Race (in progress) I am not sure but I think a new race will be the safest way to make a new mesh for the new character. Looking on how to create Drell race, with Drell looks. - Body / Head (in progress) Still unclear on how i am going to do that but I think armor mods already replace the body so will try that - Custom Weapons and armor (in progress) Using Nifscope and blender / 3dsMax to try to bring one Mass Effect2 Weapon for Thane Krios. Managed to get them both imported into nifscope, now the hard part begins. I now have Thane Krios npc that follows and marries the dragonborn, it looks argonian and uses Thalmor armor but speaks like Thane :D
