Hi there,
I've been one the Nexus since 'Dragon age: Origins', I was actually trawling the the mire on YouTube one day, when I saw some dude using these really kick ass weapons, a quick google later, I found the nexus site.
After that I saw that there were other nexus sites and I found one for Fallout 3, so I took a look and after seeing all the cool stuff there I bought fallout. Got addicted to that, And thereafter Fallout:New Vegas.
Waiting for Skyrim's Price to drop a bit before i buy it though.
I am newish to the forums so I hope you don't mind me posting here, but there does seem to be a problem with the fact that I cannot find any files on the Premium servers. The normal servers are fine, But I get 'File does not exist' on the Premium ones.
Cheers
Yea I love modding, adds countless extra hours of gameplay for free.
Anyways welcome, I am new too.

It is a tie between two with one on the side.
Solid Snake (Some of the best and most bad-ass single player games)
The Master Chief (If you read the books you would understand how bad-ass this guy is.)
Leon Kennedy. (RE4)

Hello I'm new here too. I don't do much modding yet, but I want to become much more involved when I get my gaming computer, For now though, I am just kind of looking around.

Yea.....You're right broken. Whay I suffer from is a thing called wishful thinking. Still, I can't help but think there is some milking going on (*COUGH! Microsoft*)

I would prefer if both were free content that was not removed from the game to be resold to the consumer, but I do like expansion packs more. At least they feel more like full games and paying $20 for them is justified. It also keeps the game fresh. The worst example of something that is pushing the industry is the COD franchise. By the end of an average game they release 5x$15 'DLCs' which cost more than the over priced game. There is no reason people should have to pay additional money to be included in the full multi-player experience which they are most likely paying Xbox live fees on top of. At the end of it all one has shelled out $200+ on the console, $60 for xbox live (yearly), $70 for the COD game (yearly), and $75 on extra content (yearly). I don't mind expansions at all but the whole DLC thing seems like a scam in general because almost nothing in them couldn't be released with the game or put in for free.
Ya, I really hate CoD. It's not a bad game for sure, but the way it has steered the whole industry....It's terrible! I honestly feel that if CoD wasn't so sucessful the whole idea of releasing multiple sup-par "DLC" packs for 15 bucks a pop would be recieved with an outrage today. As for the Xbox Live and free conent comment, I think that was the original idea. However over time they realized that their consumer base would just stupidly pay for every little bit of extra content, and Microsoft was just like "Ok, if people are going to throw money at us we won't say no." Up until that point not many other game developers have made their players pay as much for some maps (Halo was $10 new and the older packs went down in price over time.) and not many other game developers have at least given its playerbase some free content. After CoD, however, the entire standard changed. Plus we even now have some developers pushing what CoD started even further. (Battlefield 3 required an online pass and released a map pack like a month later.) It's almost as if gaming has become "How much money can we possibly milk from our customers?"
Pretty ridic. if you ask me.
Also thanks for the responces.

I couldn't help but notice gaming in general has been moving away from huge "expansion" packs and towards smaller "Addon Packs" and I just wanted everyone's opinions on that. Personally, I prefer expansions overall. For example, I felt Zion from Honest Hearts DLC could have been done in a fashon similiar to that of Oblivion's Shivering Isles. I personally felt Honest Hearts was a missed opportunity and was seriously under developed. (In that it could of been much larger with much more content packed into it.) For example, in Oblivion I returned to Sherogath's realm constantly while I never returned once to Zion.
Although, I may be slightly biased because I believe expansions don't nessecarily have to relate to the main game. (Assuming some people believe expansions are meant to be continuations of the main storyline.)
Anyways just wanted your opinions.

Dude, your my hero! I've been trying to transition from console gaming to a gaming computer for over two years now. Right now I'm waiting for my brother to graduate so he can build a new computer and I get his old one. As for gaming, personally I want to join a mod team and make mods for new vegas.
Anyways nice to meet you. I'm new too.

I'm 22 and from France. Just recently got back into playin Morrowind. Will most likely purchase the expansions very soon...right after i get Knights of the Old Republic.
Im most likely gonna start with a fresh new character. Hopefully there are some nicely balanced mods out there now. Cya!!
One of my friends is from france!
Though we are much younger than you are, I have played KotoR 1 but not 2. I'm really too young to appreciate it as much as my older brothers did. Though, I'm interested in playing this new Star Wars MMO game. It looks very fun.

Hello. I came to this site to try and get my face around and meet the community. So...Nice to meet ya! I plan on getting a powerful gaming computer in the near future. (My older brother is obsessed with building computers and such, I told him when he is ready to build a new computer that I'd take his old one.) As my sig/avatar show, I love reading or writing fiction; primarily fantasy, science fiction, and mythology.
Anyways, once I get this computer and can play all the retail games and such, I want to join a modding group. Possibly contribute a bit to a community. Initially I'd like to work as a voice actor, dialogue, story writing, and play testing. I'd then like learn how to script and use modding programs later on, however I'm wise enough to know it isn't as straightforward as most people think. Which brings me to my next point.
I'm not a complete noob when it comes to modding. (Just New Vegas/PC modding haha) I have some minor modding background. First I keep in touch with what is going on currently in both gaming and modding. Basically I am very interested in it. (Thus, why I am here.) I think it is awesome people are willing to go through so much trouble to provide free content for others. Additionally, I have helped my friends design many usermap mods for Halo 3 plus I have tested many popular game types for Starcraft:Brood War. Lastly, I am a former member of Modhalo and have interacted with some big named modders from the Halo:Custom "glory days". I stuck around because it always amazed me how they'd create such advanced mods on such an old game.
I'm pretty easygoing and am willing to play literally anything including outdated games. I am pretty limited on my computer but if anybody ever wants to play Playstation with me I'm always down. So...nice to meet you guys. :)
P.S. Also, I know I just met you guys but is there any guide or videos I could watch about programs I should be familiar with for making mods? (For Fallout 3/ New Vegas.) I'd very much appreciate it.I'd like to not be a complete noob when I finally join a modding team. (Which is my ultimate goal.)

Just a Newb here
