  1. Try to do a repair via Steam or GoG galaxy. Might also be a mod, so turn them off. Other than that, I if it still doesn't work then revert to an earlier save prior to starting the quest and.. start it again.
  2. dates are wrong? Erm.. just how old is your save? If i were you i would go to TW2 and reload the 2nd to last save and let the current latest version make its auto save at end. Should work. Also the import decisions work 100%, dunno who told you it doesnt work. Actually non import method misses a few things here and there, nothing important but small things like rare notes that reference some characters based on decisions and such.
  3. Skyrim isnt open world either then. You have to load to enter cities, buildings, dungeons etc in that sense. This game also just splits things too, but mostly because the places you travel between couldnt be connected in terms of scale. The Witcher world isn't one made up for the sole purpose of a video game like TES nor does it take place in a single province like every tes since morrowind.
  4. Believe it's the autosave once you spawn at Kaer Morhen after the credits that's required, manual saves didnt work, for me anyway.
  5. Unfortunately looking at this site there's absolutely no modding scene for the game. But yeh, W3 will be open world so along with the unfocused game that open world means (aka NOT what witcher has been so far) that we will likely see people making mods for that since open world tends to grab more focus from modders. Thats the W3s silver lining, worse game campaign, better mods~
  6. Sounds like you should stick to Call of Duty games. Hit dat nuke button. Seriously tho this game is extremely easy, make sure you go with the low difficulty setting. Still you might need to use up to even 3 buttons at times.
  7. the first one was actually good for it's time. The overall (mostly media related tho) impact it had however would have never been.. and obviously no Jolie movies... Anyway, i always play male, can't find it believable based on the era this type of games are based on that a woman would ever manage to do anything.. they were barely allowed to walk outside on their own let alone fight wars with the underworld. Just ruins the roleplaying believability of the game for me is what im trying to say..
  8. yeah, i was thinking about doing that eventually.. unfortunately it'll have to wait since physically my game of the year dvd is ~400kms away.. oh well, ill figure out something.. No need to worry about the registry tho, I have made backups of all altered areas.. (*not sure, but maybe it has to do with wow6432node, maybe the parts that exist there need to be in the normal 32bit windows like part of the regisrty too for the game to work.. anyway, ill proly go rent the game and get it installed, having the game sent to me over mail will cost more anyway)
  9. used tgm a couple of times during my first play-through... other than that nothing... I havent done it in my 2nd play-through so far (with a ton mods however that change world leveling (so no worries about goblin warlords, at least not now that i'm @lvl25) and... everything pretty much) I have used the console to get unstuck from objects/walls a couple of times, but that's more.. debuging than it is cheating (unless bethesda meant for this to happen as a mental toughening process)
  10. yeah, "unfortunately" that was the very first thing I checked.. but hey, at least you tried  thanks mate
  11. It's funny how things work... When morrowind first came out I was ~17 and didnt have the patience to play RPGs but had all the time in the word to play games. The only RPG type game i had ever liked until then was Ocarina of Time back in 98. I couldn't get into the whole lore/+endless text stuff, so even tho I gave morrowind at least 15-20 hours, due to lack of patience, I never really understood what it was all about (what/when/where/how etc etc) and never really moved forward with the main quest. I just wen't from place to place (and not all over the whole island) doing some sidequests here and there.. Obviously i thought it was boring in the end. The pixel shaded water and the open world however were really amazing for the time and i still remember how annoying the lag roaming the world was So I ended up playing Oblivion in 2006, which basically got me into the whole rpg type gaming, because it was easy to access and straightforward, and as a non rpg-er i found it awesome. Didnt pay attention to character & world leveing and quest-choice making.. Things have changed for me a lot since then however (for example, see DAO which actually give you options on how to play). Anyway my point is.. go play Morrowind, it's more of an RPG than Oblivion, and certainly has a much more interesting world and main quest once it picks up. Oh year, not to mention that when you come back to play oblivion you'll actually know what the hell some of the random NPC convos about the Nerevarine/other lands are about. Which is pretty cool.. makes you feel like less of a tes noob, hehe
  12. hard to decide as most chars are pretty flat and without much personality.. so there aren't many choices in the game really.. I'd say Glarthir but the dude's quest if probably the only Oblivion quest with RPG elements.. (*as in you get to have a say about how it ends) so I will have to go with Martin. That dudes sick, first he goes and "learns" about magic (while leaning toward the dark side of the force while doing so too) and then he becomes a dogooder god worshiping priest? Not to mention his sense of selfrighteousnesses... The dudes past goes from black to white and we're expected agree with his decisions just based on his blood? The truth lies in the gray zone dude. So.. there..
  13. Hi, I have this installation of Oblivion on a desktop XP based setup, and recently I just copied all Oblivion stuff to my laptop. Also copied the registry (under wow6432node) folders etc are all fine, mod oblivion apps all working fine (same with the 50+mods running).. The problem is, it seems that oblivion somehow (im guessing) thinks im using a 5 channel/speaker setup, and so the center channel which plays intro music and ingame environment music just doesnt work.. Ive had a look on the internet and my computer setup (oblivion inis, system sound settings etc) and i just can't seem to find an explanation (all other apps & games work with the 2 speaker setup by default) Am I missing something that can help me restore sounds to 2 channel? ..And my 2nd question has to do with run32dll.exe under win 7 x64.. basically, after starting oblivion, and it doesnt matter if i start using Oblivion.exe, Launcher (which also reset oblvion system settings based on my setup automatically when i first ran it), or obse_loader, i get run32 running at ~ 50% cpu load non stop, the game doesnt start, then i simply kill oblivion.exe and obse loader from the background, without stopping run32, and then the game loads the 2nd time. Unfortunately the problem is performance which should be better on my laptop since its new running @ 2.5ghz intel cpu with a 3650witht its own 512mb of memory ati gfx card. Obviously this has to do with the game trying to use 5 channel sound and run32 eating much needed cpu load from the game which is only able to utilize the 1st core (same as run32..) i get it that the exe is running for compatibility reasons but does it have to use so much load and without any apparent reason even before oblvion exe runs??.. Sorry, for the long read but i kinda had to give as much detail as i could. Im in software development so at least as a user/gamer im pretty advanced. Any suggestion is welcome.. thanks for taking the time to read everything :thanks:
