  1. Dont suppose its happening with other games?

Can you give any more info...?

Obviously, try reinstalling graphics drivers. If not that, uninstall the graphics drivers and the video card itself and check the cooling situation out of the card such as dust etc.

Looks like corrupted drivers, overheating gpu, or sadly, a dead gpu. If its dead, seek warranty or a shiny new upgrade! Hope that helps and you can get back to playing soon!

  2. Well my experience was pretty much like the OP mentioned, but I was getting random system lockups which forced me to hard reset the laptop by holding down the power button. (Yes, tried different things to detect if it was JUST a Skyrim lockup ie; alt tabbing and log checking, as well as all the other things mentioned.)

Anyway, after trying a whole bunch of stuff, I gave up and stopped playing.

Then I started getting the same issues with some other games, and contrary to what I just said above, I finally tried declocking my card by about 20Mhz.

Seems to have fixed my problem right up so far as at least in Skyrim it hasnt happened again, yet. (I probably shouldn't be typing this...Murphy)

    intel 2630QM

    nvidia 540M (296.10)

    8gb ram

So far, playing along nicely with FPS 30-60 and I've even re-activated all my mods! Wahoo!!!

  3. I used bsaopt to extract the weapons and armor from the first hd texture pack. It worked like a charm.

    This.

For reference, if someone is reading this because you have a problem with Esbern in the Ratway Warrens, read on.

SOLUTION: In your install directory there is a file "\Data\Skyrim - VoicesExtra.bsa". You need to download the BSAopt tool. Use it ant extract the contents of that BSA to the same directory that the original BSA file is. You'll end up extracting the files and they'll be placed in the directory "Data\sound\voice\skyrim.esm\maleuniqueesbern". After that, you're done. Just start the game up and try again.

I had to extract to a dummy folder on the desktop, then copy/merge the extracted sound folder into the X:\XXXXXXXX\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data\Sound folder.

Worked like a charm, Esbern talking and progressing the quest.

Bloody Skyrim....if it wasnt so cool I'd throw it out because of the massive number of bugs.

    :-\

  4. Good morning!!

How about a small mod to display the equipped gears stats vs what you are "mouse-overing" in game?

Example: Looking at a new sword laying on the ground/in dead enemies inventory and you can see not only the stats of the new item, but a comparison directly there beside it, kind of like floating tooltips from WoW, by either holding a key or have it permanently displayed?

I looked but cant find anything of the sort. And yeah, I used to play WoW a long time ago and this is one of the UI (using SKYUI now) features that I really miss! For me I find it tedious to do this manually either by picking up the item then opening inventory and comparing and then dropping it if its not better, or finding my item in my inventory, remembering what the other items stats were, then leave it on the ground if its not better.

All in all, just to have the two items stats/description available on screen at the same time for a direct comparison (and/or incorporating positive/negative gains via automatic green/red numbers) would make dungeon runs and general looting so much more streamlined and more of a secondary action rather than the clunky, obnoxious process it is.

I'll go post this or a link to this if I can in the SkyUI comments/feedback!

    Peace!

  5. I'd suggest simply downloading it manually. (Don't unzip it though!)Then open the "Mods" tab, click the "Add Mod from File" button (the button that looks like a blue brick with a little green cross) and click the zipped file you just downloaded to install it.

Good idea. Other than that, you can try a full manual install, which includes a manual download then following the (usually) included readme.txt with the mod.

  6. Sorry, wish I could help you more right now. I have a few things to do around the house and I'll have a think a bit.

If I come up with any ideas, I'll be sure to post back! Good luck in the meantime!!

If I were you, I'd get too ticked with it, backup my savegames (if any), uninstall everything, reinstall Skyrim to a standard folder such as C:Skyrim and then the NMM and go from there.

It looks as though you've done everything correct as far as I can tell.

  7. Call me lazy, but call me lazy AND grateful!

Thing is, like a lot of people, there are a tonne of mods in my NMM list. To find them again individually on the website and endorse them is a right pain in the neck and I'm sure a lot more endorsements would be taking place if you can browse your list and say to yourself "Hmmm, thats been in there for a few days now and still the games running fine/better/whatever" SNAP, right click, ENDORSED!

    See what I'm sayin'??

  8. Something silly I did myself when I first started loading up mods, or for some reason it was just like this, but anyway...

Point is, under the "plugins" tab, none of the mods boxes were ticked, ie not enabled to load.

Are they ticked in yours? I cant see in the screeny...

The paths look ok according to your info mentioned above and the screeny. Matches the same format as mine and its working fine.

Also, did you install SKSE? If so, there are 3 options to launch Skyrim via NMM. 1. Launch Skyrim 2. Launch SKSE 3. Launch Custom

If you want to use SKSE, make sure to click the Launch SKSE.

Try that and see if you have luck.

  9. Hi,

First of all, thanks a bunch for the great program, it really is a simple and fast method to handle the tonnes of mods available!

    My only two "gripes" are;

    1. Sorting.

There is no column to sort mods in a chronological order of install. There is a version, latest version and author column however. It would be REALLY useful to have this facility as I can't currently trace back (at least not to my knowledge) the mods recently installed, which would be great for bug testing when Skyrim starts crashing when it didnt before several various mod updates/installations. This way, you could simply remove the last, then the previous and so on and so forth, that is, if you dont do a "rollback" as per below.

    2. Rollback.

It would be really handy to be able to create "restore" points for the mods/ini files via NMM. Personally, I'm not concerned about any disk space used for this purpose. To be able to create restore points when the game is running solid and smooth, and be able to revert back to them when things go south, would be bloody fantastic! Of course, hopefully leaving savegames out of the picture. That said, a restore point could contain the 3 latest savegames for each character (auto/quick/proper save)?

There are SO many mods available its mind boggling, and the amount of .ini files and data writing/overwriting going on must be quite large!!

Thats my 2 septims, but other than that, its a great program and please keep up the great work!
