  1. I figured it out by adding this to the .ini See below. I guess this was a necessary step? Regardless, changing . ini around, being told to change registries, use this or that mod manager etc. I stand by original point. THIS IS A MAJOR PAIN. Should be download mod manager. Click mod. Start game. Mod applies. SOMEONE come up with that. Yeesh. : ) Thank you for your replies. [Archive] bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 sResourceDataDirsFinal=
  2. Thank you for the reply! Although, if you look at all the tedious steps you are recommending I follow it actually makes my point. You are (thank you for chiming in -I would never be ungrateful for assistance) telling me to go to websites, find something or another about registries, etc etc. I mean, come on. 2018 and it's like installing wing commander on my old 486 pc years ago. Half the time the game won't work, need to change something weird here or there. ALSO, there are certain versions on nexus. certain ones on github. I truly hope that whoever makes these mod managers reads this. Look, this isn't the easiest thing. It's a PAIN. You also are telling me to look for a "model" and to look for some thread that "someone posted yesterday." Lol, Um ok. I don't toy with my registry often. I don't know what all that is either. let's try this. I'll buy anyone a $20 title of their choice on steam that CLEARLY and easily helps me figure out how on earth to mod f4 vr. Again, read my post 2 posts up and it details that I'm downloading the mods, clicking the green arrow, and they STILL don't work upon loading into f4 vr. Thank you everyone so far. Truly appreciated. It must be me. Fourteen steps to mod a game is obviously the "norm" I should be good at. LOL. Some sarcasm but somehow this is tough for me so it's on me too!
  3. Thank you for the reply. Truly. I am very frustrated so I'll calm down. I'm glad to have you here to assist. Sound like you klnow what you are doing. Especially the point about vortex above. I will still point out that, in my opinion, it should be easier. Download mod manager. Down load mods. Play game with mods. Even your description and others are more complicated than that. I've used mods back in the day and every time I dread having to relearn the process. It's just annoying. When older and married with kids, I don't want to alter directories, change all this and that, and then finally get it to work. Ok,, in the meantime, here's where I'm at. I've downloaded this fallout 4 vr custom mod manager. At least THIS once recognizes F4 VR. I've downloaded a mod to test it. The "improved map with visible roads". It successfully downloaded into the mod manager, is showing up, and i've clicked it with the green check mark to make it active. I load f4 vr from the manager and ....it still doesn't work. I tried another mod that also looks like it worked. Just a basic one to make the pip boy blue. That also doesn't work once I launch in game. Any idea why? Thank you again sir for your non toxic reply and assistance! https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/31190?tab=articles
  4. I've been gaming for years and always love the concept of modding. Trying to use Vortex for Fallout 4 VR since Nexus Mod Manager doesn't recognize Fallout 4 Vr. Here are my problems and an illustration of how frustrating and tedious this process is. I use oculus, flight sims, custom program x52 and have a theater room with gaming at the house, and NMM and Vortex are somehow the ONE area that are just a huge pain in the A$$. HELP ME LOL List of Problems Encountered 1 - NMM doesn't recognize Fallout 4 VR. 2 - Try changing directory in NMM STILL can't find Fallout 4 VR. 3 - Browse forums, spend time watching youtube videos. Learn about Vortex. Ok, download Vortex. 4 -Watch youtube video of some Vortex user who says when you click the download with NMM it will open Vortex. Doesn't happen. It requires NMM Still. But NMM can't find Fallout 4. 5 - Ok that won't work. Hmmm. Vortex says it can link to mods from NMM (NOW I NEED TWO ! Managers?!?). But can't do that because I can't even download to NMM cause NMM doesn't recognize Fallout 4. It notices my other games tho. 6 - Ok, screw all these dumb mod managers. What do I download? What do I extract? The ENTIRE yellow folder? Do I need some a file for each mod to end with the same .txt or dot something? Where do I put it?? CHRIST. this is so beyond frustrating. And every video online is some guy who yaps forever, trying to get more followers, and just goes on and on until you skip around his 20 minute video to the right moment where.....I copy what he does and Vortex just doesn't auto open like this guy says it does. Someone help. Please. Thanks. Don't hate me lol. I mean my God. SHOULD work like this - Just download ONE MANGER. DRAG MODS INTO MANAGER. Open game. Mods work.
