[CTD on loading saves]

First, I'm using Vortex not exclusively and sometimes manually install some few mods. After installing DarkenD and its patches, VIGILANT and other mods, I was able to play just fine for awhile. I saved my game and quit out to take a break. I come back, boot up though SKSE as usual, load my save, and then I crashed. I tried multiple times over to load my save before going into troubleshooting mode. After 6+ hours of nothing but sorting my mods list, both automatically and manually, reinstalling mods that people have said could cause issues, deleted files that were said to cause issues with loading saves, and generally doing all I knew to do. I've already tried disabling all the mods I added before the problem arose and enabling them one at a time while loading an old save. I found the issue was that I cannot load new saves(quick saves, auto saves, manual saves). I can make new characters just fine, but I cannot load the new saves they make. So the stutter remover that was supposed to prevent crashes was causing crashes? Nice http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/smile.gif

 

This is an old fix for Bethesda games that works for FNV. If you have not tried it yet you may want to do this. It works wonders for the vanilla game but as you add mods if the mods are buggy the mods of course will cause problems but at least you will not be crashing because of the original vanilla problems.

 

 

 

Open up the fallout.ini file in: Documents\My Games\Fallout New Vegas

Find the line: bUseThreadedAI=0

Change it to: bUseThreadedAI=1

Add another line after it and insert: iNumHWThreads=2

This will prevent the game from using more than two cores. Multi-cores cause crashes in the Gamebyro Engine.

If the game still crashes change to: iNumHWThreads=1

You also need to do these edits \Steam\Steamapps\common\FalloutNV\Fallout_default.ini
