  1. thanks for the info i did manage to fix some things by going to the saved gave icon in vortex and clicked restore saved game plugins it fixed most of my problems only one im having now is some mods take a few installs before working in game.

    Might I suggest switching to Wrye BASH? Switched recently from Vortex to Wrye, and all my little niggly problems in -game went away.

  2. I am not talking about two ENBs, I am talking about night eye alias nightvision. This solution is for the people who want to use an ENB, but still use their nightvision skills. I know there is a "fix" for this, by enabling APPLYGAMECOLORCORRECTION, but that one changes the way the ENB looks - and that can be very bad. This is not the fact if you use the solution I posted on top of this thread.

    There is a simple fix!

    open "enbeffect.fx"

    find:

    // #define APPLYGAMECOLORCORRECTION

    change to:

    #define APPLYGAMECOLORCORRECTION(remove // )

    Nightvision will work now.

    THIS!

    Worked like a Charm, for both Predator Vision Mod and standard Night Vision!

  3. cant stand how workshop works

    Agreed, Also the easiest way to mess up your saves, bloat your Data Folder (When you unsubscibe steam just leaves the files on your pc.) I HATE THE WORKHOP WITH A PASSION! BURN IT TO THE GROUND!!!

    If it ain't on Nexus - it dont exist as far as I'm concerned.

  4. I removed the Skyrim.ini from my Documents Folder. Starting the game created a new one. No lag. Whiterun was mine! Problem solved :wink:

    @darkdill: you should thank Bethesda for creating such a great game.

    THIS!

    In particular any changes you've made in the [Papyrus] section beyond enabling logging - like memory tweaks etc. I removed all tweaks I made except for logging and problem solved.

  5.

    I also get this from time to time when loading a game after just starting skyrim, no doubt due to some script that was acting out when the game was saved :P

    What you could do if it is the same for you is simply load an earlier save then load the latest save once your in-game. Also A Quality World Map caused this for me as well.

    Are you speaking of the endless loading screen issue or the random freezing? I've herd of AQWM doing it, but mine was due to HD pack from bethesda and unofficial hd patch for some reason. My problem now are random freezes, though I can make it happen at Helgen after I get off chopping block pretty regularly

    I was speaking of the Endless loading screens :p

    Random freezes can be a Couple of things, scripts have been my own little demon to conquer, since I run a lot of scripted mods. I've solved most of my issues by doing the following:

    If you are using a lot of scripted mods, try adding the following to your skyrim.ini file, this will give the Papyrus VM more time to do it's thing:

    [Papyrus]

    fUpdateBudgetMS=800

    fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=800

    fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000

    iMinMemoryPageSize=256

    iMaxMemoryPageSize=512

    iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=2457600

    bEnableLogging=0

    bEnableTrace=0

    bLoadDebugInformation=0

    bEnableProfiling=0

    For an explanation of what these do see: http://www.creationk...tings_(Papyrus)
    Also add the following to data/skse/skse.ini: (Create the file if it does not exist)

    [General]

    ClearInvalidRegistrations=1

    I still occasionally get a CTD or a freeze - but not often enough to be an issue for me. :p
  6. As always, create a save you can revert back to before trying this.

    See if this helps.

  8. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Molag_Bal

    First line:

    Molag Bal is the Daedric Prince whose sphere is the domination and enslavement of mortals. He is known as the King of Rape and the Harvester of Souls.

    His being is defined by what he does - his entire purpose is to control and belittle those he can, by whatever means required, no restrictions. Skyrim case in point: He commands you beat someone with his mace, he dies. what does Bal do? Resurrects him so you can have another go at it - simply because he wants to hear the words "I submit" - after he gets what he wants, you get tasked with killing him anyway, again giving Bal what he wants - the soul of the very man you just killed (twice).

    So yes, what he does is horrifying - because in most cases, it works.

    He praises those with the strength of will to rise above others, in the case of the women selected for the ritual - being raped by him, surviving the ordeal and then continuing to exist shows him that inner strength - the reward? Their newly found Vampiric state and all the powers that go with it. Including - powers that involve some sort of controlling aspect (raise dead to fight for you, call animals for the same purpose, etc).

    Agreed,

    That is purely who Molag Baal is. What he did is consistent with lore.

    I mean, really - everyone is having such an issue with the choice of storyline without taking into account that Molag Baal is EVIL. He wasn't being particularly worse, IT IS WHO HE IS! They knew that when they decided to serve him!!

    Why people try to emprint real-life issues on a fictional game is beyond me! The whole point is it is fiction, a storytelling. No different than reading an epic fantasy book. A lot of what happens in, for example Lord of the Rings is rather upsetting, but it is part of the story and adds depth to the characters and the story.

    When I play a game or read a book it is to escape from reality for a few hours, not to see if I can apply it to my book/game as well.

  9. I'd put both on the SSD, this way your windows and Skyrim will start up fast. But putting only Skyrim on SSD will speed up Skyrim's load times, and only Skyrim's load times (Well, Skyrim & your other steam games).

  10.

    Even so, a total massacre of all the humans in Skyrim at the time was uncalled for. To put down the Nords for their response to genocide just ignores the facts.

    To respond to genocide with genocide only makes the Nords as bad as the Falmer before them.

    One does not need to exterminate an entrie race becuase they killed all the humans in one small area, the Nord's reponce makes them nothing more then simply hypocrites.

    I disagree,

    Their response was justified. They didn't start the fight - the falmer did. They sure finished it though.

    It does not make them hypocrites, what happened after 9/11? America invaded Iraq in retaliation. For the Nords, as a nation, to do nothing would have been a sign of weakness and an open invitation to the falmer that they should invade.

    War is ugly, people die. Such are the ways of the world.

    An eye for an eye....

  11. Deadly Dragons & Dragon Combat overhaul would most likely clash, since they both modify dragon combat. This might not neccecarily cause a problem as on would might just take preference over the other (Which depends on load order), but I generally try and avoid running 2 mods that change the same thing - in this case dragon combat.

  12.

    I'll get the 'elephant in the room' out fo the way first: you are using way too many mods. Skyrim for PC is intended to be modded, not 'heavily modded.' To stabilize such an extensive load order would, at minimum, require the ability to interpret plugin records in TES5Edit and making custom compatibility patches (automated dynamically generated patches would be insufficient). As a last resort, you might consider trimming that load order and starting a new game (so you don't need to deal with problems generated by orphan script data left in existing save games). But before that....

    1) Cleaning: download TES5Edit from the link in your BOSS log, follow the instructions on the page, and clean the plugins flagged by BOSS as containing 'dirty edits' (including the DLC and update esm's). You will need to remove identical to master entries as well as undelete/disable deleted references.

    2) Maintenance: go through your BOSS log and look for any error messags, for example..

    ClimatesOfTamriel-Interiors-Warm.esp Active

    Incompatible with: Realistic Lighting Overhaul

    The base CoT mod is compatible with RLO, not the optional interior plugins, since they edit many of the same imagespace, cell lighting, etc.

    3) back up your current game ini files, then delete them and let the game generate new ones on the next launch. The default ini settings are optimized for stability. Performance related tweaks boost performance by sacrificing game stability. I recommend not fiddling with ini tweaks (except for non-peformances related tweaks like enabling papyrus logging or increasing autosave counts) unless you have a below requirement spec and need to tweak the ini files just to sustain playable framerates.

    4) Rogue mods: you have many mods not recognized by BOSS (because the BOSS database has no information on them). After you run BOSS, they go to the bottom of the load order, and override conflicting edits from the other plugins. Ideally, their load order position should be adjusted manually. The best way to determine where they should load is to check the plugins in TES5Edit, compare them with the other plugins in your load order. If they do not contain conflicting edits, you can safely load them any where in the load order above your compatibility patches (e.g. AV patch, Bashed Patch). Otherwise, you will have to decide, based on which conflicting record should win in order to optimize the stability of the load order. If all of this is going over your head a bit, then I recommend you uninstall the mods not recognized by BOSS, so you don't have to deal with the aggravation (since you have so many).

    5) I am inclined to suggest that you uninstall 'Better Cities.' If a modder does not understand the kind of instability that can be introduced just by deleting default game stuff in the CK without using TES5Edit to subsequently clean those plugins, they don't really understand what they are doing. But I am also inclined to believe that the modder for 'Better Cities' is perhaps still learning and may sort out those issues at some point. But you might consider uninstalling those mods for now.

    I agree,

    With that many mods it's quite likely that a couple of them are changing the same things, and that can be disasterous - Believe me, I know from experience! (Was running 236 active mods at one stage with disasterous results, down to 142 - of which most are just extra armors and weapons. :p)

    Make sure you aren't running any mods that change the same things, eg 2 mods making enhancements to the same cities. Or two mods making changes to combat behavior. Cut those down so you have only 1 of each type of mod and your problems should decrease dramatically. (You'll probably have to start a new game as your save games will be riddled with reffrences to the removed mods.)

    Once you've got those conflicts sorted, you can start and troubleshoot any other problems you might run into, knowing that it's most likely not due to 2 mods trying to change the same thing.

    Also, clean those mods that have dirty edits using TES5Edit, that can sometimes improve lag/stutter.

  13. Monkinsane- is there any way to disable jaysus load screens?

    prod80-

    1.- the fps counter on the enb in game menu was telling me I had solid frame rates throughout, like around 100 fps solid (and accurately reacted when I enabled v-sync, so its not broken) so I don't think its a visuals problem (although I will try lowering some of the settings, especially some of his uber-gratuitous ones). Are there any entries besides the ugridstoload that would cause issues specifically when loading areas?

    2- I do have HD world maps with roads, I'll see if disabling helps

    3- it was usually happening when I died and my last save was in a different area now that I think about it

    4/5- I'll give both of those a try as well

    Not as far as I know, it is only a guess on my part though, it could be something else entirely.

    Doesn't annoy me that much, I just load another save and load my recent save from in-game. Problem sidestepped :p

  14. There are a lot of errors in your log, from what I've seen - the mods in the following positions are having issues, which could be causing your troubles:

    13

    5F

    B0
    60

    8B

    4E

    My money would be on one of those causing the issue. Specifically 5F and 60. Have a look at those.

  15. From what you've described, it could be three possible things:

    1. Driver issue - try redownloading the latest stable drivers from Nvidia.

    2. DirectX - Try reinstalling from the Redist folder inside your Skyrim installation folder.

    3. Flakey Graphics card.

    Also make sure your page file is not disabled.

    Does this only happen in Skyrim, or other games as well?

  16. OK, i get those from time to time - only in certain areas (eq Whiterun Exterior) .

    Simple workaround - load another save from the \game menu - any save that works (Generally interior saves dont give an issue for me). Once it's loaded and you're in-game - load your save that's giving you trouble from the in-game menu. It should load perfectly. I suspect it's Jaysus Swords as I usually have a Jaysus swords entry on the loading screen when this happens. Minor annoyance since I just load another save and then load my current save from in-game.

  17. I sided with the Stormcloaks the first time I played Skyrim, but after reading the Bear of Markarth, I will never side with the Stormcloaks again. I wish you could side with the Forsworn and help them take back the Reach. I also kill every Thalmor I can find.

    That book is nothing but propaganda.

    I also kill every thalmor I come accross :p
