I disabled Fraps/MSI Afterburner/Origin/Steam ... I've got a ATI HD6970. @ Win 7 64bit i'm play with ati 6990 everything fine here ,but last time when i use msi afterburner i get crash every time when startup the game,which driver ati u use ,and can u start game when removed the d3d9.dll?also did u oc the gpu?
