  1. The m stands for mobile and it is highly unlikely that you can successfully replace a laptop graphics card
  2. At 73% load the CPU is not the bottleneck. A gtx 660 is a nice card for 1920*1080, but will struggle at 2560*1440. My GTX680 struggled somewhat at 2560*1440, my titan can of course handle 1440p easy.
  3. That just doesn't make sense, the 760 is faster and cheaper than the 7950 boost.
  4. It is not like it won't play games at higher resolutions, but you would have lower the quality settings. I don't think it has anything to do with the vram the GPU just isn't fast enough to run games at higher resolutions than 1920*1080.
  5. From the reviews I've read, the 760 is a little faster but cheaper than the 7950 boost. Although it doesn't do well at resolutions over 1920*1080
  6. That is 1066mhz ram, which could be either ddr2 or ddr3 Old usually means expensive when buying pc hardware so a 6950 would most likely be to expensive for the performance you get.
  7. Have you tried an anti mallware program? Spybot is a good one.
  8. The power supply is overkill, somewhere around 600w would be better. Processor for gaming the 3770 is not needed, a 3570k good enough for gaming. Video card the 670 is better than the 7870 especially at that price. SSD is good, they tested it and it is not any less reliant than any other ssd
  9. You do realise this is a 220 watt processor right? This thing will get hot, I doubt that you can cool that thing with regulair coolers
  10. The samsung ssd is good The amount of vram has noting to do with how fast a graphics chip is. Read this review. http://us.hardware.info/reviews/4440/nvidia-geforce-gtx-770-review-incl-3-way-sli-and-frametimes
  11. The socket 1150 kit would be a little more expensive but they have several advantages They almost all have great audio-chips, this might be the generation that kills dedicated sound-cards. More sata 6 ports, intel internet chips, msata connectors for wifi and ssd's
  12. The ram is overkill, you won't notice the difference between this and a 1600mhz kit half the price. You don't need a fan controller with this case, it has one built in. The case is a personal choice, I don't like it but large fans are quiet. The ssd has a bit of a bad reputation though, you might want to consider an other one You might want to consider a build with the new socket 1150 though. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=138_1491&products_id=23627 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=187_346_1490&products_id=23495 The gtx 770 is also out, these are faster than the 7970.
  13. You will be disappointed with either of these laptops. The are only meant for office work. You can either buy a good second hand laptop or save up for a better laptop.
  14. In the older generation only the atoms and celerons where available as solder on versions, but now the high end chips are available as solder version. The graphics in the desktop versions aren't that impressive but the mobile processors have medium end graphics.
  15. No it is a new architecture they just didn't focus on the processor part this time. The goal with these processors was low energy consumption and improved graphics performance.
  16. For windows 7 or 8 64 bit will only be the better choice if you have more than 4gb of ram When you buy the oem or new system builder version you have to choose between 32 or 64 bit. The full licence windows 7 contains two disks but is more expensive. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116716 Technically a store is not allowed to sell oem versions without a whole new pc but some will
  17. Where is windows 7 64 that more expensive? When you buy a full windows version you get a 32 and a 64 bit disk.
  18. 64 bit operating systems used to have a lot of problems and 32 bit used to be the norm. XP-64bit is a horrible operating system indeed. But this changed with windows vista an subsequently most pc's with windows 7 are 64 bit. So the driver support is very good now and 32bit is becoming rare.
  19. Probably windows 8.1 or whatever they are going to call it. I really don't have any problems with windows 8 In desktop mode I used to pin everything to the quick launch bar anyway.
  20. This looks like a very good deal http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681413083 The 660 is about as fast as the 7950, but seems to be slightly cheaper. This would be the best amd option, faster than the 660ti. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131484&Tpk=tahiti%20le&IsVirtualParent=1
  21. I think this would be a little over budget, but is is 500gb, There have been concerns about the durability though. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147190 The pro version is a lot better but also more expensive.
  22. The Samsung 830 is also an ssd to consider it is almost exactly the same as the m4, but I found that updating the firmware is a little easier. (I get nervous with the dos upgrade procedure) You should buy the cheaper one if you have to choose between the crucial and Samsung.
  23. Why not buy a good computer in one go, you're just going to lose money on this deal.
  24. Rest assured haswell will not be a lot faster than Ivybridge concerning the cpu part. It will bring a lot of changes to the igp though. And from what I've read about the bug is that some usb 3.0 sticks may have problems when the system comes out of s3 state. It sounds like a power issue to me, the chipset can't power high speed usb sticks with a certain controller when it comes out of sleep mode, for me it isn't a big deal because I don't use sleep mode.
