  1. Has anyone else had this issue? Ever since i updated steam a few days ago FO4 will CTD before making past the ENB screen, usually at the moment when the steam overlay notification would pop up. Even with the overlay disabled, doing a total revalidation of the game files and no other changes to the game other than updating steam itself - and my Fallout 4 is the current version - i am unable to even get the game to launch properly.

And for what its worth noting, after that steam update my fallout new vegas has tanked in framerate as well going from a steady 60 to <20.

  2. You know, i wouldnt mind CC so much if it actually was full of nice fallout related stuff like say, an R91 or other classic fallout weapons (yeah yeah gauss rifle i know) but it ended up being nothing but "durrr gonna copy crap from our other non lore related games and pander it to you here for $5 a pop." The items themselves are more of what makes CC even that much more frustrating. Like add actual armors and weapons from the fallout universes or things that fit, not some armors ripped from your other games and a comically asinine weapon -cough BFG-

  3. Hmm considering i only have to mods using f4se i just continued playing through a reguler launch in Mod manager. However im sure a few of you have done this any major consequences?

Those mods just wont be functioning properly. For me its just Looksmenu and the Looksmenu CC so if i load the game my character has pink dyed hair that i cant change because its broken. Thats about it, idk if it would stay permanent.

  4. Just to ram the point home into my tiny little brain - If I launch FO:4 through F4SE it will not update?

I believe that is the case, i was a bit negligent and forgot to set it to update on launch as well so im screwed until new F4SE and Looksmenu versions come out. But yeah i think if you set it to update on launch using F4SE circumvents this and prevents steam auto updates (since steam doesnt allow you to disable the auto update entirely)

DAM! That is nice right there. So a shotgun needs a giant scope like that? I mean its a shotgun ya know? Maybe if the ammo was slug rounds instead of spread maybe. I have always wondered why the animations so far for this kind of weapon have the user hand moving back behind the pump while firing and then moving to grab the pump to cycle the next round? Why not just leave the hand on the pump so there is less delay?

You don't have to put a long-range scope on it, but hey, maybe you'd want to if you were going to use slugs (which will be available in WARS via AmmoTweaks).

As for the position of the left hand in that grip, the animations were made by Hitman47101 for the Hunting Shotgun mod, which is of course referencing the "Hunting Shotgun" in Fallout New Vegas. That's how that weapon is gripped in FNV, so that may be why. That's just a guess on my part; you'd have to ask Hitman.

Oh, I should probably mention that the player does hold onto the pump when shooting in the first-person anims.

When it comes to the real thing though, I was watching this video on the Mossberg Shockwave recently, and at at least one point when the weapon was fired with one hand, you can see (and he comments) that the pump was forced back on its own by the recoil since it wasn't being held in place. I don't know if that's something that's only likely to happen on small shotguns like that one or what, but it does make it seem more like you'd normally want to hold onto the pump when shooting.

Slugs or not, though, shotguns are smoothbore. It won't be accurate at the ranges that a telescopic sight would be made for.

Most shotguns typically have easily changeable barrels and you can get "slug" barrels which are rifled instead of just plain smoothbore.

  6. Im having a bit of an issue that popped up, certain armors from the Automatron and Far harbor are showing up as the big red exclamation mark. Im not sure whats causing this and I've revalidated the game files. I don't have any new clothing mods or anything that i havent been running for the past year with no issue, it just sorta popped up out of no where. It seems to be missing meshes for the outfits that the mariner wears (and any other NPCs with the same outfit - female only?) and only one of the random armor pieces from the automatron clothing. Legend of the harbor unique outfit which uses the same stuff as the mariner's outfit is also missing its mesh as well.

  7. Any mods that require F4SE will not function properly if you launch the game and any mods dependent on it will break accordingly. A new update should be out for F4SE within a few days or at worst by the end of the week. Just another nail in the coffin for CC. Breaking all the currently working systems for overpriced crap. GG Bethesda. GG.

Edit: apologies for the double post, internet has been a bit finicky with the hurricane

  9. I was messing around with the Enhanced Color correction mod and after uninstalling and fixing my load order the game has a very noticeable blueish hue as compared to before i started messing with it. Along with this all of the colors are extremely over saturated and it looks kinda wonky. Is there any way to sort of reset it to the default game color balance without having to uninstall and reconfigure 150+ mods?

  10. Not sure if this has been addressed but is there a fix for the rate of fire bug on automatic weapons? Most notably the nuka world handmade rifle and other mod automatic weapons have that UI bug where the rate of fire is displayed as 374 instead of 117, and the firing animation/firing sounds are sped up but its not actually firing faster as they both empty a magazine in the same amount of time.

  11. Would it be against the terms if I took a model from lets say fallout 3 took it apart in a 3d modeling app (blender 3d) and took high quality screenshots of all visible parts like say a magazine, trigger, etc... And then proceed to model the gun from scratch using those said screenshots

I would like to know cuz I would like to bring some weapons from fallout 3 and new Vegas to fallout 4 (mainly the snipers and stuff). I would use the above meathod to do it and probably make it higher poly than those original game models.

I think the line on that is its safe to recreate items as long as its YOU creating all the assets, instead of just importing stuff from another game which is the stealing part of that. There is a pretty good DKS rifle mod out currently if you havent seen it but if you want to make your own then by all means go for it!

  12. Looks fantastic! And it doesnt matter if 50 people before you have made a similar weapon, if you've put your time and effort into it and you are dedicated to making it then by all means do so

  13. I cannot wait until this mod is fully finished. I admire your hard work!

    I have a question tho.

will the AK rifles be as tacticool as the m4?

(Tacticool as in RAS rail system like the zenitco handguard and stock)

If not, i can abide with the "Nyet rifle is fine" rule.

just want a good ak, because the handmade rifle looks like treaash imo.

If youre on PC, theres a mod you can find searching AK-74 on the nexus, its highly customizable and really good models. It uses the nuka world animations but sort of a slick change. The charging handle is on the wrong side but the top cover has a small cut to make room for it, the actual ejection port is still on the right side and it doesnt spit brass in your face. It has the AK-74, AKS-74u, AK-104, and RPK with a ton of different magazines, furniture colors/styles, and sight options.

Hello all, I would like to request a return of my favorite gun from FO3 "The Pitt" DLC........THE INFILTRATOR (or the Perforator). I loved this rifle so much I would appreciate it if a modder decided the same as me, that this gun deserves a return.

Link to Perforator on Nukepedia: Perforator

Link to Infiltrator on Nukepedia: Infiltrator

    I loved that gun, too.

The Infiltrator/Perforator is basically an upgraded R-91 Assault Rifle. ff7cloudstrife did a great FO4 version of the R-91 here. It has an "Infiltrator" loadout that pretty closely approximates the feel of the FO3 gun. There are also several material swaps to change the look and feel away from the basic wood design.

That's my go-to gun for midgame and as a general feral-clearer-outer, mainly because it reminds me of the Infiltrator.

FF&Cloudstrife's R91 isn't really an R91 because its modeled after the FN FAL instead of the HK91/CETME, but ya he does have a version that is close ish to what the infiltrator was.

  15.

Have you given any thought to meatier animations for them? You know, getting it out and priming it or lighting it or pulling its pin. It bothers me how the pc just pitches it like a baseball after a dinky sound effect.

The system is one animation per set for all throwing weapon types, everything from frags to molotovs to throwing knives, its not possible to have anything more detailed then a simple generic toss.

As for a belt fed LMG, I can probably jury rig something up that acts like it should, or at least at least looks better then having it static. But that said I'd only go through that pain in the ass ordeal for something truly special, I'm talking a fully modular M60 with fantastic models and textures made for F4, from the Vietnam model all the way to the E6 with as many attachment options as possible. That's the only thing I'd really be willing to try it for but the odds of getting that stuff are slim to none haha, so I wouldn't get hopes up.

Hitman if you do that, holy crap that would be so amazing. A full M60 collection would be awesome!! But ide imagine that would be a HUGE undertaking but that would definitely be one of the best weapon mods around!
