  1. Why not just replace it with the VL power bite animation?
  2. For the record I figured out what the mod I was looking for was. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31776/?
  3. Tbh they strike me more as corrupt corporate executives. You know, the types that will get their fingers in multiple cookie jars and, if caught, brutally dispose of witnesses. TES has plenty of supernatural and the like, having to deal with plain and simple large-scale greed (and being able to do something about it, unlike how you're powerless to do anything about Maven Black-Briar) would be refreshing. And honestly? Corrupt empire-wide corporations might be even more dangerous than cultists to the Dragonborn specifically because unlike most cults, they have the means to make people... disappear, and have a VERY long reach while not having to hide from the public eye. ...I'm still bitter that Bethesda wouldn't allow us to just plain dispose of Maven. Who cares if she's got friends in the Empire? So does Tullius, and that doesn't stop a Stormcloak Dragonborn from removing his head from his shoulders. Fat lot of good do 'friends in high places' do to a corpse in a ditch... (
  4. A warehouse, eh? Warehouses mean rat infestations. I guess it'll involve skeever cleanup, hahaha.
  5. I'll trust you on that. My modding skill consists of 'make the CK crash in 10 seconds', lol. One thing to note: if you plan on a fireplace, having one that can be toggled on or off is probably a good idea immersion-wise. I can't think of any fire that can stay lit for 4000 years, aside maybe for the First Flame of Dark Souls... >_> Alternatively, it could be, as you suggested, a Hearthfire-style house upgrade that needs to be triggered (ie, you built the upgrade yourself). ...or maybe it's a lava flow. Because I can totally see the Dwemer roasting marshmallows over freaking lava. Then again, Sinderion's lab was a Dwemer house with a fireplace... ...imagine if you hired a housemaker from the surface to renovate your house and then casually sent him to Blackreach lol. I'd imagine he'd spend the first few days muttering about how he let himself be talked into rebuiding an ancient Dwemer ruin a couple miles underground by some crazy adventurer who obviously doesn't have all his marbles together if he WANTS to live there. Then he'd spend the next few days drooling over the chance to learn Dwemer architecture and probably running from Falmer a lot when he inevitably runs afoul of them. >_> On a side note, how the hell is it possible to find fruits in some Blackreach containers? It's been millennia since it was inhabited, there wouldn't even be dust left... I'll stop rambling now. Will look forward to news in the future. Good luck with your current project, and... may I inquire as to what it is? Might want to check it out... EDIT: I noticed that the Farm Overseer's House is similarly in a relatively safe area, uninhabited and not a radiant quest target. It also comes with a mushroom farm! Unlike the War Quarters, however, there is no lift to the surface within easy reach, so that one is more for hardcore Blackreach denizens. Might work as a starter for 'make your own Blackreach mini-settlement', where you can eventually rebuild the other two ruined farmhouses and recruit people to move in them. Though where you'll find people mental enough to live with you in Falmerland is beyond m-- *looks at the average College of Winterhold researcher* --nevermind, there's plenty of nutjobs who will readily take you up on the offer...
  6. It wouldn't be DIO without the Space Ripper Stingy Eyes though.
  7. Honestly, I'd be happy with anything. Static is simpler, I guess. That said, there ARE multiple beds, but on the other hand it's *Blackreach* - not exactly a kids friendly place, lol. Having Hearthfire Multiple Adoption compatibility would be nice for those wanting to RP a lunatic crazy enough to drag his whole family to an ancient Dwemer underground city, but is maybe a bit excessive. Then again I'm usually a vampire, and anyone stupid enough to marry me probably asked for it, hahaha. In the end, I'd say 'whatever you feel comfortable doing'. ...there's no areation inside though, so maybe leave forge/smelter/etc outside? My character isn't a fan of suffocating to death, lol. Those Hearthfire houses with their UNDERGROUND forges, I tell you... that's suicide right there. Also, probably nothing like a common garden. Blackreach grows mostly fungi, so I'd imagine mushroom patches at most for 'cultivation'. And even that's a stretch - it only works in my mind because fungi can thrive even unattended, unlike most other cultivating plants. Just some considerations. Hope it helps.
  8. That's not it. It was in its own worldspace, a really dark one. The backstory was that the whole town was zapped in a plane of Oblivion and its inhabitants all became trapped as specters. Thanks for the link though...
  9. I'm satisfied with having given someone ideas, hehe. I'll wait and hope something comes from this. Crossing my fingers... :-)
  10. I remember an incomplete mod that added a portal near Riften that led to a magic city full of spectral townies and tamed sabrecats. Anyone know the name?
  11. I mentioned this location in a topic I made shortly after yours, but the War Quarters in Blackreach are a livable space in a relatively safe area that could be used as a base for such a thing. Just a thought... I'm no good as a modder, so all I can do is suggest.
  12. Just a consideration, but: 1) the place has no enemies 2) it's close to the Great Lift to Raldbthar 3) There's already 6 normal stone beds and a master bed, so it can easily be made Multiple Adoption friendly 4) It's in a rare, relatively safe area of Blackreach - no enemies in the immediate surrounding 5) It's not radiant enabled so you won't break anything or have to worry about quests messing your house up 6) there's a lore-friendly reason for it being free, being abandoned in Blackreach and all - it makes sense you'd just waltz in and make yourself at home There's two containers too, but the area does respawn, so they aren't safe to use as-is. Also, since it's Blackreach, I doubt you could excuse Nord architecture being used in it. The place is undiscovered besides SInderion, and is Dwemer through and through, so you'd need to use Dwemer containers and furniture... which would be fine. Too many "Dwemer" houses are full of modern Nord junk despite being supposedly thousands of years old, and there ARE Dwemer decorations that can be used. This is THE chance to make a 'true' Dwemer house, in all its glory. :-) (as an aside, could also have a malfunctioning Centurion as guard outside who mistakenly recognizes you as its 'master' so that eventual family or friends will be safe. Those Dwemer Gundams are more than enough to protect the area. Think of it as Blackreach's housecarl) Just an idea...
  13. If you just want to set a home, use Guild Starter. Or a similar mod that sets an area as "home" such as My Home is Your Home. Or Homestead. Or Spouses can live anywhere. If you want a home that is dwemer style, there are several homes on the Nexus. Type either "dwemer" or "dwarven" and be sure to choose the category Abodes- Player home. There are at least 8 and a few even have video previews like Dwarven Falls have fun! I have seen plenty of dwemer homes, yes. For some reason, the good ones all use NORD furniture, with a few exceptions that are however too buggy to use (or, in the case of the Dwemer Aquarium, have so many load screens they can cause major crashes). Not sure why the insistence on using Nord stuff when there's perfectly usable Dwemer decor available - chairs, beds, containers, etc... It kind of defeats the point if all that's dwemer in a house is the walls. One of the big complaints I have with Vlindrel Hall, in fact... Dwarven Falls looks nice though... might give it a try.
  14. Quick question: are there any mods that allow you to repurpose and take over part of a Dwemer ruin as a player home/room? A few ruins have surprisingly intact rooms and furniture, and it wouldn't take much effort to make them livable since most Dwemer ruins are set to never respawn (and thus storage is supposedly safe by default).
  15. The player character doesn't count, on account of how we're somehw capable of carrying 62 cheese wheels, 18 battleaxes and a pile of Dwemer scrap in our pockets alone instead of looking like some kind of abominable junk golem with a vaguely humanoid mass of flesh in its center. >_>
  16. Arthmoor's Alternate Start lets you pick a start where you're a guard who just retired, but not sure that's what you mean.
  17. No innuendo intended, of course. I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about *whistles innocently* Must be Russian bears. REAL SOVIET DAMAGE and all. Nah, but in all seriousness, I should take a look at their damage resistances sometimes. They do seem to take an inordinate amount of physical damage to down. Magic works better for me. That said, I'll take bears over snow sabrecats any day. 900 pounds of fur, claws and searing hatred for all living things have no right to move that fast, be that quiet, and be so hard to spot in a damn blizzard.
  18. It... kind of makes sense. With DG installed, Dawnbreaker does sun damage, and the DG has sun damage spells. Then there is the name, and Meridia is heavily associated with the dawn, in addition to being one of few Daedra to be considered not evil and sometimes even beneficial. And let's face it... Most of the Dawnguard doesn't give a damn about Stendarr, they just want to kill vampires... which Meridia would approve of, since they're filthy necromancers in her eyes. It could lead to some interesting interactions - for instance, Meridia's Beacon being a guaranteed spawn inside Fort Dawnguard, Dawnguard weapons having enchantments similar to Dawnbreaker, a shrine to Meridia being in the cave in the back... and that's just offhand. I'm sure a whole parallel questline could be made out of it.
  19. Are there any mods that add a breath meter when underwater?
  20. Temba Wide-Arm, right? She also lets you get wood from her mill for free.
  21. Most people use the Apachii Sky Hair mod or Apachii Hair Female. I could be a little off on those names. It may also be HelloSanta's hair pack, but can't give links because she kinda used a lot of them without permission.
  22. Yeah, those intersections are criminally overlooked (especially when it makes sense to build hamlets at crossroads). Winterhold is in similar state - damn near no one builds anything in that region.
  23. I have a question. Are there any mods that make it possible to live with family in the College of Winterhold?
  24. *looks at his character carrying 900 pounds of looted armor all in his pockets* Uhhh--- I think 'immersion' left this building a long time ago.
  25. I noticed that practically all Dwemer-styled houses still have rather punch-in-the-eye clashing Nord style forges and workbenches. I know that from a design PoV it's easier to use vanilla assets, but if you take over an old Dwemer ruin into your own home, I'd hope the built-in crafting stations are in Dwemer style, what with being from their time and all, and Dawnguard DOES add the Aetherial Forge as an example of Dwemer forge. Smelters and the like would probably have to be custom-made though... Anyway, that's what I wanted to know - if any mods out there actually bothered to make custom Dwemer meshes and textures for things like tanning racks and workbenches. Sorry for bothering.
