Just happened to me and I'm not clever enough to solve it. I installed the new patch, started the game and realized my mods had been uninstalled. I try to open DAModder to reinstall my stuff and then the application simply says it's archiving stuff for my safety and then nothing. I wonder if the new GOG patch had some sort of impact on DAModder? Is there a simple fix for stuff like this? I tried the caveman method of deleting and reinstalling DAmodder

Lethality Weapon Strength Requirements?
Bellystraw posted a topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
Sometimes I look at the axes we've got in game and think: "Golly gee, this thing would be banging on a rogue!". Sadly, to use an axe at full power a rogue would have to go for a strength dual wielding build which would be pretty stinky unless that's something you want. Just wondering if there's a way to have lethality swap strength requirements for cunning without impacting armor requirements? Maybe that'd make cunning rogue busted but I feel like it might create more options for Zevran/Leliana/Me. Plus, it'd require you to go for a cunning playstyle to make the axes really outshine daggers. -
Basically, anytime do a playthrough of DAO, when it comes to the endgame armor choices I always feel like picking Dragonscale is the "right" answer due to it pairing with Evon the great's mail. I do have an affinity for the skin and bone variants but when I want to be efficient I choose the scale. A way to fix it for me personally would be adding in chest pieces that you could slot in that have a set bonus with the skin/bone sets. Just pop 'em in a store and sell them for 100-130 gold and we're good to go honestly. I'll never claim to be the greatest name picker, nor will I claim to be an expert on balance but I think something akin to what I'm proposing would make choosing a dragon armor a bit trickier. Medium: Antivan Regicide Plates Description: Antiva is well known for their involvement regarding matters of the crown. Their master assassins also know that assassinating royals can get messy. It seems that this extravagant and gaudily enchanted chest plate was for one such occasion. +5 melee critical chance +10% chance to evade +1 stamina regen +1 health regen +10 defense Basically evon the great's mail but without the extra armor and swapped for some crit chance instead. Massive: Chevalier's Pride Description: The people of Ferelden have very little love in their hearts for Orlesian chevaliers but their gear...now that is another story entirely. This chest piece is so heavy that should the wearer fall over they could accidentally crush some unfortunate soul. But the protection granted is enough to ward off even the greatest of opponents. +8 armor +1 stamina regen +2 to all stats +10% chance to evade +10% fatigue (the + fatigue is negative right?) This one might be more potent but after checking out and reviewing all the ultimate chest pieces I feel like it's not overwhelming in any way. It's strong, definitely strong but it's not gonna file your taxes, clean your house and go to the gym for you.

Medium armor is dope but outside of Varathorn's chestplate and the dragon set there's literally no point to medium armor. Like I just want some nice medium armor options for like Dwarven, Chain, Splint, Scaled etc. I don't care what kinda stats are on the dang things I just need them to be good enough to warrant being used over light/heavy/massive. And getting a decent set of dwarven heavy would be pretty swell as well. If anyone feels like taking on this request then you're sweet as heck and I appreciate you. Have a good day either way

I just find some of the items from Leliana's song kinda neat, they're a nice midgame bunch of items (With some obvious exceptions). I don't really care how you'd get them though being able to buy them would be nice so you wouldn't just stumble upon some great stuff. And if someone would be ballin' enough to import these items then my final request would be to make the Pelerine slip-knife restricted to Leliana since it's her knife after all, would feel a bit rude to take it away from her (plus, pairing the slip knife with the rose's thorn would be gnarly)

There are a lot of armor types that don't really see any use since there are no unique versions of said armor. The armor types I really feel don't get enough love in Origins are: - Heavy Plate Set (looks great, but it rains better massive armor in DAO) - Commander Massive Armor (I know that Loghain wears a silverite version but it's restricted to him) - Heavy Dwarf Armor (with the exception of the superior dwarf armor you find in the DN Origin you never really see anyone use this set) - Duster Armor (we have gloves but the rest of the set feels forgotten) - Dalish Armor (fantastic for early game but meh when you start getting the juicier stuff) - Leather Armor (We have shadow of the Empire which is swell but otherwise I never use leather) - Every Medium Armor Set (we have varathorns and dragonskin but I feel they are overlooked. I barely consider ancient elf medium armor since it has the heavy silhouette) - Dwarf Massive (We have the legion and blood dragon armor sets but they're not really the classic dwarf massive set) So I'm no stat distribution god but here are some ideas I had for stats for these underused looks: Plate of the Dog Lord - Heavy Plate Description: Named by an Orlesian Chevalier, the former wearer of this armor supposedly rode a chariot drawn by mabari hounds leading to him not being just A Fereldan dog lord but THE Fereldan dog lord Material: Veridium Helm - +2 Armor/-1Willpower Chest +4 Strength/-2 cunning Arms - 20% critical damage/ -5 defense Legs - 15% dodge chance/-3 magic Set - +3 combat health regen/+3 combat stamina regen Avvar Shield - Commander set with Executioner helm for the complete set Description: The intricate carvings on this armor seem to tell the tale of Flemeth. Whether they're meant to serve as a warning or as simple adornment is a matter of perspective Material: Dragonbone/Mikhael Dryden tint Helm - 30% fire resistance Chest - +50 stamina/+5 attack Arms - 10% magic resistance Legs - +15 physical resistance/+2 dexterity Set - +3 damage/+6 attack Surfacer's Glory- Heavy Dwarf armor with the Dwarven medium helmet Description: Orzammar's greatest folly is their willingness to exile their greatest to protect their pride. This masterpiece serves as a painful reminder Material: Red Steel Helm - +1 all stats/+1 damage Chest - +3 strength/+1 combat stamina regen Arms - +6 defence/+6 attack/+10% evasion chance Legs - +2 armor/+1 combat stamina regen Set - +2 combat health regen/-20% fatigue Carta Fearmonger - Duster Set Description: There are members of the carta whose very presence warrants the presence of a small army of guardsmen. There are dwarven scholars who wonder if their infamy is a sign of their effectiveness.....or a sign of their ineffectiveness Material: Inscribed Chest - +4 armor/+2 combat health regen/generates extra threat Arms - +2 str/+4 con/+4 attack Legs - +2 armor/+20 physical resistance/+5 defense Set - +4 con/+4 willpower - Phantom of Dirthamen - Dalish Armor Description: Dirthamen is a god of secrets and the Dalish will go farther than anyone to protect theirs. This armor looks unrefined and cheap but on closer inspection you'll see a masterwork made from every trick and technique the Dalish have reclaimed Material: Rough Chest - +1 combat stamina regen/+20% evasion chance/+6 dexterity Arms - 25% crit damage/+5% evasion/+6 attack Legs - +6 cunning/+6 defense Set - +10 armor/+6% ranged crit chance/6% melee crit chance Master Crow Leathers - Leather Armor Description: Some Antivan crows partake in dark rituals that give them unnatural abilities....and other wear damn good armor Material: Inscribed Chest - +4 cunning/+4 dexterity Arms - 10% crit damage/+3% melee crit chance/rapid aim -0.3 Legs - +4 defense/+4% spell resist/+3 willpower Set - generate less threat/+3 damage Templar Traveler - Chainmail + helmet (the helmet that's just named helmet) Description: Sometimes Andraste's flaming sword is too recognizable. Lighter armor like this one is used for such occasions Material: silverite Helm - +2 constitution Chest - +15% spell resistance/+2 armor Arms - +10 mental resistance Legs - +1 all stats/+10% healing increase Set - +20% spell resistance/+1 combat health regen Lordling's Armor - Scale armor + Qunari Infantry Helmet Description: Medium armor made for a foolish young lord whose thirst for glory in battle far surpassed his skills. His lord father made this armor with the intent of keeping his heir alive Material: Dragonbone Helm - +50 stamina Chest - +3 constitution/+2 combat health regen/+2 armor/generates more threat Arms - +20% spirit resistance/+25 physical resistance Legs - +4% melee crit chance/+4% ranged critical chance Set - -15% fatigue/+4 armor Carapace Armor - Splintmail Description: Whether it's a product of madness or genius this armor is made from the shells of large insects Material: Veridium? chest - generates less threat/+4 attack/+3 dexterity arms - +10% crit damage/-1 armor legs - +10% evasion/+5 attack/+6 defence set - +4 damage/+2 combat stamina regen Proving Grandmaster Armor - Dwarven Massive armor and helm Description: This armor was made to honor an undefeated proving champion. Shame he was killed for using the wrong fork at a royal dinner before ever wearing it Material: Silverite Helm - +0.5 combat health regen/+2 all stats Chest - +50 stamina /+1.5 combat health regen/generates more threat Arms - +6 attack/+1 combat health regen Legs - +20% healing increase/+4 willpower Set - +20% evasion chance/-10% fatigue The locations for each armor set would preferrably be in merchant inventories. Like the dwarf armors being in Gorim's store or one of Orzammar's stores etc etc I apologize for any spelling errors I made and if I accidentally made some set that was so outrageous it'd make mincemeat out of every boss in the game. It all kinda turned into alphabet soup in the end. This thread is more for me than a desperate plea but I especially feel like the medium armor sets in origin deserve more love than they got. If you read all the way through, just know that I appreciate you and hope you have a good day!

I love the concept for the Griffon's Beak battleaxe. A unique weapon that's only usable by the warden characters and is part of a helmet/weapon set is awesome but this super unique looking and unique in general weapon has rather meh stats giving you only +4 damage vs Darkspawn So if anyone's willing I'd love some stats like this: +4 darkspawn damage +0.25 health regen weakens nearby Darkspawn +3% melee crit chance That makes it a pretty dang strong but not overpowered option in my opinion edit: And maybe but definitely super duper not necessary it would be cool to get a buff to the griffon's helmet as well, seeing as it's the other part of the Griffon set. Cool stats for that could be something like: +15% Electricity resist +2 dexterity +5% chance to dodge attacks That would be super strong but not godly overpowered I feel Now when it comes to the location of the Griffon's Beak it's mostly that I'd love to get my hands on this badboy more often but sadly it involves killing witherfang which is something most of my characters never really do If there was like a way to add it to Varathorn's shop after finishing the story quest or maybe having the dragon in the ruins drop it that too would be super sweet

Awakening: Buy Dragonbrand from Herren?
Bellystraw replied to Bellystraw's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
Cool, so the best bet is to remove Dain's. Guessing that I'd have to start a new game or something for 100% effectiveness right? Also, thank you so much for all the assistance, you're the GOAT! -

Awesome, so does it mess with Dain's fixes random encounter stuff in any way? I'll definitely remove it if Lemmings is better. Thank you for the reply my guy! -
Awakening: Buy Dragonbrand from Herren?
Bellystraw posted a topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
Dragonbrand is a notoriously difficult to get greatsword in Awakening due to the random encounter you get it from being bugged and doesn't trigger for most people. Now If you could get the dragonbrand as a drop from a random boss in Awakening (outside the final boss) that'd be great but it would also be quite nice to just buy the damn thing From Herren. You often have a stupid amount of gold after beating origins and importing a character into awakening and even if you start as a Orlesian warden you could amass quite a bit of cash money throughout the campaign so having Dragonbrand be an expensive as hell Greatsword that you could simply buy would also be fantastic. The greatsword started bugging me after I started a new awakening campaign with my hero of Ferelden boi and I wasn't finding any 2h weapon that could be a suitable replacement for my chasind greatmaul outside the Vigilance GS and that's just kinda sad, knowing that you're stuck with the same weapon throughout most of the 10 hour or so campaign. I googled what options there were in awakening and I stumbled onto Dragonbrand, ignoring the easy fix (simply spawning the random encounter through the console) I tried getting it legit and after an hour of teeth grinding roadtrips from the Wending woods to Amaranthine I decided to simply say "no" If anyone with the expertise could, I'd love to simply have Dragonbrand be a weapon you buy from Herren. Hope you lads have a good day!
