  1. I wouldn't bother if you don't already have it. You'll get better results with the various texture mods. Just downloaded it... Straight to the trash can, and so begins the search for an alternative.
  2. No I'm not running the official pack. How easy is it to remove once installed? I've got the game very playable right now, it'd be nice to bump the textures but if it drops the FPS then I'll want to go back to the original textures.
  3. I've not looked into any settings myself as of yet. This has only dawned on me this afternoon (UK) while sat in work so not had chance to try anything. Interesting that the auto-detect is optimistic, I'll have to look into dropping to medium and having a fiddle with the advanced settings as you said. Thanks a lot.
  4. That sounds like you're running a high-end rig though... I'm not. Therefore need to decide what's best: high Vanilla or modded Medium.
  5. My Laptop decided it was happy to run Skyrim at "high" which I was quite impressed with. The walk down from Helgen was fine, don't know what the actual frame rate was, but it more than playable. I then decided to pop over to Morthal, and found that the frame rate drops in the swamps. Fair enough. Will dropping down to medium make a difference? My other question is regarding mods. If you're running a texture mod, then what difference does running medium/high etc. make? For example, what would look better, Vanilla high or modded medium? Referring to your high-res texture mods here.
