Have you asked dragbody?
I never bothered asking. I've assumed he's busy with other work.

For some reason, objects have started moving in a very "laggy" way when I select and move them.
This video shows the problem. When I rotate the object, it is perfectly smooth, but when I actually move the object, it is "laggy" in comparison. This occurs with just about everything selectable in the render window.
I tried restarting GECK, but the problem still persists. Does anyone know what caused the issue and how to solve it? Is there some keybind that I accidentally pushed that is causing this?
EDIT: I also uninstalled and reinstalled GECK, and the problem still persists.

I'm wondering of there's anyone out there that can remove certain sections of an armor from Drag's Powder Ganger Overhaul
I'd like the hood and strings to be removed from this armor, essentially make the hoodie just a normal shirt, if possible.
This specific armor is called "PG2a.nif", and, once the mod is downloaded, is in the following directory:
PowderGangerOverhaul \ meshes \ dragbody_nv \ GamingUndergroundNetwork \ MinorFactionsOverhaul \ PowderGangers

I'm trying to do the Thieves Guild questline, but after talking with Mercer in Scoundrel's Folly, all that happens is I get the marker to upgrade my TG armor from Tonilia, Speaking With Silence doesn't start and Mercer doesn't leave the Ratway. I've tried doing the "setstage" command and reloading various different previous saves, but Speaking With Silence just refuses to start. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this?
Here is my load order in case that helps.

I'm currently using the latest version of Vanilla UI Plus and One Hud, and have taken an interest in Vanilla HUD Remastered (4K), Consistent Pip-Boy Icons, and Vanilla Hud Cleaned.
What I would like to know is if all of these mods are/can be compatible with each other, and what the mod/load order priority should be with these mods.
Any help would be appreciated,

Are you using a new mesh? This typically appears when there is an error in your mesh. If so, run the mesh through Nifscope and export it again.
Nope. I select just FalloutNV.esm, then click any weapon and the crash occurs.
-
You should always start troubleshooting from any error messages you can see. (They are your best "clue"; and why they exist at all.) We don't expect you to be able to interpret those messages, but reporting such accurately and in detail (i.e. screenshots) is an essential first step.
Anytime the game "Crashes to the Desktop" (CTD) it's typically going to generate an error message in the Windows Eventlog because both the game engine and Windows itself was not able to predictably handle the error. Please see the "Windows Error Messages" section of the wiki "How to read most Bethesda game error logs" article. These errors need to be dealt with first.
Logs generated by the game itself (not Windows) are found in the game folder, where the "FalloutNV.EXE" file is located. They generally have the ".log" file extension, or a filename with "_log" in the name and a ".txt" extension.
* There are three different causes known in regard to that problem in the wiki entry. You are only reporting that one of them (FCO) doesn't apply. Did you try the others (we don't read minds here and making assumptions about omitted information leads to confusion and mistaken advice)?
Use the "FNV 4GB Patcher", even with a GOG version of the game AFTER you have installed the GECK. Won't hurt and will tell you if the GECK is already patched for LAA.
* Did you install Steam to it's default location? (GOG is not a problem as it places the game correctly.) This typically is the reason why you can't patch an EXE file as it is being protected by the system from your "suspected malware" patcher. If so, please see the wiki "Installing Games on Windows Vista+" article for why the original default Steam behavior of installing games to the "C:\Program Files" or "C:\Program Files(x86)" folder tree was bad (they learned better, and don't do that any more but didn't change it for older games); and why "disabling UAC and running as Administrator" is NOT sufficient, with instructions how to move it. Among other things, later versions of Windows (since the game was released) force files in "system protected" folder trees to be "read only" regardless of how you set them manually. It includes instructions on how to correctly move the Steam folders out of that folder path.
Don't move it to a folder under "User\Documents" either, as "executable" files are not permitted to run from there for similar "anti-malware" reasons.
This is the single most important thing you can do to fix and protect yourself against problems in the future. As much of a PITA as that is, it's never going to be any easier than now. System updates often cause issues with games installed to these folder trees. With the game moved out of the default location you will not need to be running it as an "Administrator Account", which is safer. Please see the 'Restoring to "Vanilla"' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article as well.
-Dubious-
I've already used the 4GB patcher on my current install before (just not GECK, I think). Will I need to undo the first time I ran the patcher in order to run it again?
-
Please see the 'Issue - GECK crashes upon editing a weapon' entry under the "Common Problems with GECK" section of the wiki "Getting started creating mods using GECK" article.
-Dubious-
I don't use Fallout Character Overhaul, and the crash still occurred when only using FalloutNV.esm, so I don't think it's because I'm not selecting required masters. Using the NTCore patch on the geck.exe didn't work. I even completely reinstalled GECK, but the crash still occurs.
-
When I open GECK and try to open a weapon, I get this error message, clicking "OK" then closes GECK. From what I've tested this only happens when I click on any weapon. I opened GECK through MO2 with xNVSE 6 and GECK Extender installed. I tried using GECK without extender but the crash still occurred. I also tried only loading the FalloutNV.esm with and without extender but the crash still occurs.
Does anyone know what the issue is and how to fix it?
-
The game is buggy and leaks memory, especially in the texture caching part of the game engine.
Avoiding high-res graphics and setting your texture quality lower will help a lot, but your game won't look as pretty.
I see, thanks for the info :)

I've been noticing this problem in my FNV where I launch the game at a solid 80-120 FPS, but over time the performance dips into the 20s after about an hour or two of playing. It's not the worst issue I've had with this game but it gets annoying having to restart the game every now and then.
I have just about every performance mod installed: xNVSE, JIP, Johnny Guitar, NVAC, Tick Fix, Mod Limit Fix, Heap Replacer, Infinite Loading Screen Fix, you name it.
Does anyone know what could be causing this and if/how it can be fixed?

"User Interface (UI)" problems indicate you have changed XML files. This is often caused by an "install order" problem with more than one mod replacing or editing the same XML file. Please see the wiki "HUD-UI-Menu issues" article. (This takes some interpretation as applies to your situation. There are too many permutations for an "if A then B" type of guide. If you haven't encountered XML files before then the "TL;DR" section is not going to help by itself.)
"Disabling" mods is not enough to restore things to "vanilla" if they overwrote any files. UI mods definitely do this, and can make "edits" to other existing XML files. You have to "verify local files" to restore the originals, and still may need to delete the "loose files" so those vanilla versions get used from the BSA files. Then correct the sequence in which you install those UI affecting mods. Please see the 'Restoring to "Vanilla"' entry of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article.
-Dubious-
I removed all of my mods from my MO2 folder (not disabled plugins, literally moved all mod folders from my MO2 directory to a different folder, including UI mods) and the issue still persisted. I checked my FNV directory and the only .xml file that was in the directory was "jip_temp.xml", does that mean that file is what's causing the issue?
I've resolved the issue. It turns our New Vegas Reloaded for whatever reason disables the ability to zoom in. If you have New Vegas Reloaded and having this issue, simply uninstall NVR.

For some reason when I use right click my view just doesn't zoom in. If I use a weapon, it goes to the center of the screen, but no zoom. If I use a scope, the scope UI comes up, but no zoom.
I've gone so far as to disable ALL of my mods to the point where the only mod I have is XNVSE and starting a new game, but even then I STILL can't zoom.
EDIT: I should also point out that I no longer zoom in during dialogue or VATS.
This is my load order, for what it's worth. I use MO2. I can also post the modlist if needed.

I use Tale of Two Wasteland in FNV, which comes with YUP out of the box.
I also use mods that need compatibility patches with YUP, however since I don't have the specific "YUP - Base Game + All DLC" ESM, I get that damned missing master file error, even though I technically do have YUP.
Is there a way to have this error not occur?
-
Essentially I'd like someone to edit Poet's Captain Rex mod to replace all of Lando's skins, rather than just his young skins. PM me if interested.
-
I know, sounds like something straight out of a Dragbody mod, but it would be cool nonetheless.
-
So I installed a mod that for some reason made the combat shotgun cock itself after every shot, like lincoln's repeater or charons shotgun, I would like to keep the mod installed, so is there any way I can stop the cocking animation from happening in GECK?
-
In other words, the moment you step out of the vault, you'll be greeted with hellfire troopers, super mutant overlords, and albino radscorpions.
-
So I'm simply trying to edit texts that appears whenever someone speaks. How can this be done?
-
So I'm trying to create dead NPCs for a mod, I set their health to 0 and disabled their ability to respawn, hell, when I enable physics in the render window, they even drop to the ground as if they're a corpse, but when I actually go in game, they're alive. Doesn't matter what type of NPC, human, ghoul, no matter what I do, they don't spawn in dead, just with really low health. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong???
-
So you know those Brotherhood Outcasts that we always see patrolling the wasteland? I'm trying to recreate with Enclave NPCs for a mod I'm working on, anyone know how to do this or know of a tutorial that can help me achieve this goal?
-
So I'm trying to add the Enclave patrols that are typically seen in the Capital Wasteland to Point Lookout, I'm also trying to add Vertibird encounters, both simply flying overhead and dropping off troops, to Point Lookout. How can this be done?
-
I forgot the "begin" statement for the OnDeath block.
Here is what you do:
1) In the object window, go to Miscellaneous - Script and open AgathaScript (which is already an object script like you want)
2) In the Script Edit window - Click the menu item Script - New... (which will clear the contents of the window)
3) cut and paste this into the edit window, and change MyNPCScript with your NPC's name.
scn MyNPCScript short hasSpell begin OnStartCombat if hasSpell == 0 addspell stealthBoyInvisibilitySpell set hasSpell to 1 endif end begin OnCombatEnd if hasSpell == 1 removespell stealthBoyInvisibilitySpell set hasSpell to 0 endif end begin OnDeath if hasSpell == 1 removespell stealthBoyInvisibilitySpell set hasSpell to 0 endif end
4) Click the save icon, which will compile your script and save it if there are not errors.
5) Close the script edit window and save your mod. The script is now a part of your mod.
6) Open your NPCs window and select the above script from the dropdown list.
7) Actually acknowledge me and thank me for taking the time to help you. I need it.
Thanks! I'll be sure to credit you once I update my mod!
Looking for an old version of Nevada Skies
in Discussion
Posted
I've been looking for an older version of Nevada Skies but I haven't had much luck so far. To sum it up I'm trying to find a version of NS that will have the "Blood Arthur" mood option. Unless I'm just mis-remembering, this was a mood that appeared in Nevada Skies after it was reduxed, but for whatever reason got removed at some point before the final version on Nexus. I've also tried downloading the "Classic Edition", but this version also lacks the "Blood Arthur" mood.
Any help would be appreciated :)
