No read/write permission for game data path! Bodyslide issue
andyg65 replied to sourfries35's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
This will also happen if you just change the name of the output folder selected in bodyslide in explorer or your mod organiser. Fix by ignoring message, reselect output folder and restart bodyslide. -
Sounds similar to https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2945534-help-epic-levels-of-ugly-and-i-mean-epic/ Take a look 4/5 posts down for link to fix

Donations Challenge! Let's Make it Happen.
andyg65 replied to NiteBeast's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Got my support, I've also started putting my money were my mouth is and have donated to mods I treasure in my load order and will continue to do so, though like others it may take some time to get round to all of them! -
@daede & @arestris well said.On the point of donations, which has been an option on Nexus forever, I notice Dogtown1 has a Paypal donation button on his Monster Mod mod uploaded on Steam and Joop with his Combat AI mod encourages people to go download his free version on the workshop that he says will be the most upto date one! The scenario of lots of sh*t mods being released is no bad thing if it makes the Workshop pointless, we don't get our mods from there anyway so let it fill with crap. The best result of this fiasco would be for the workshop to fail and cease to exist, show the developers that it's in their best interests to allow a free modding model to keep their game at the top for so long.

Many of them are doing this as early access to them for a limited time and only handful are stopping forever, and this is nothing like a quick buck at all on their end. It has been seen that it hell anyways. 17 Mods, that's all (so far). I'm not so sure you'll find that many others wishing to join and as Gopher points out there are often alternatives. Already modders are coming out in solidarity stating their mods will remain free (might I suggest they also pull their mods from the Workshop diminishing it's worth further). Let this kill the Workshop not modding or the community.

Why am I taking such a fps hit with my mods?
andyg65 replied to ForOdinForAsgard's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
It's not just your rig though and not just texture and ENB's that'll give you a fps hit, for example follower mods will slow your frame rate down! what stage in a game are you, does this happen with a new game? If so I'd suggest disabling flora, extra npc mods, extra animal mods, follower mods etc to try and narrow down what maybe affecting this. Do you use NMM or MO? -
I agree the trolls have gone waaaayyy overboard and it's shameful the way some mod users have turned on mod makers. Too few are speaking any sense, what we've got is 17 mods behind the paywall, so what? SkyUI 5 will go that way (atm) but 4.1 will remain freely available and was the final release anyway up until this debacle. It's easy to resolve, don't use the Workshop (who the hell does anyway?) don't upload mods to the Workshop and don't buy mods from it. Just leave the Workshop to wither and die. Users donate to the mods you all know you should donate to because they're essential to your play throughs and are the reason you still play Skyrim. Show the mod makers some respect and appreciation and that it's better for them to stay on Nexus. Galadreal, I don't blame you if you'd rather not be around this sh$tstorm and reading back through this thread and some comments I wouldn't either. Hopefully once it's died down we can get back to the more pressing concerns of which texture or follower mod is better and you'll be happy to participate again.

Ok, I'll bite. Don't use the 'subscription' service, there's lots of helpful advice on how to use mods properly and setup mod managing software. Look at https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/wiki/beginners_guide Watch Copher's videos on beginers guide to modding Read The Step guide If you hit a problem google it, there will be answers out there.

Crash Fix Advice "CWDisableDuringSiegeScript.psc" Need help?
andyg65 replied to throatviolence's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Same here, I only get that crash within a city. Usually Whiterun but it has happened before in others. Often leaving the Bannered Mare or entering it to be honest. Who else here quick saves before every door they go into? I've just started getting this, before a freeze/ctd, no civil war mods, entering whiterun seems to be a problem. Have you got any combat modifying mods that would need to be disabled during the civil war action in Whiterun? Oh and polite note to mod authuors please, please, please STOP putting things in the Bannered Mare, I can get into top nightclubs with trainers on more easily than that place sometimes!!! -
Thanks for the info & the fix of deselecting RRWhiterunInt.esp, did this and the Loud & Clear quest now works!! The 7K Better Whiterun was the problem for me as well & I've link some other posts back to this and added an entry on the UESP.net wiki page . I note there is now some discussion about this mod on it's nexus post page asking about bugs as another modder would like to try and fix it.
-
If you have the 7K Better Whiterun mod look at http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/756798-tg02-loud-and-clear-will-not-initiate/ 7K Better Whiterun interiors file breaks this quest, if you have RRWhiteRunInt.esp deselect it in Mod manager and you should be good to go.

Hi my guess is that your game files have become messed up by the installation / un-installation of the mods rather than being an issue with area / location in the game. Take a look at http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Troubleshooting#tab=Restore_Vanilla_Skyrim and the clean save process . Before trying to clean up your files you could make a copy of your current save and have a go at re-installing all the mods ensuring that any load order or conflicts are addressed, use BOSS to sort that out then Tessedit to check that BOSS got it right,. Gopher who does the Skyrim Mod sanctuary tube has some good tutorials on using these tools. I've just recovered a heavily modded skyrim by doing this .

Hi your crashes are almost certainly something to do with installing & uninstalling mods, take a look at http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Troubleshooting#tab=Mods_and_Savegame There's also a link to creating a clean save which may help you resolve this, good luck!

Which mod are you having trouble with? This maybe a permissions issue with the windows file structure, do you install mods to skyrim from more than one account or did you install skyrim itself from a different account? Try rebooting, go into the account that the error message appeared on, go to your Stem folder usual location C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam, right muse click on the folder and choose Share with, advanced sharing, security, edit and check to see if your log on name is there, if it is ensure that you have full control ticked and if it isn't add your windows log on and give it full control. apply and close. If you get any error messages saying access denied say ok then navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Data and open each folder in turn, if any say you don't have permission continue anyway. restart is probably a good idea, then try installing the mod again.

I've seen a post on steam pointing the finger at FINS mod but I don't know if that's true though I cannot interact with the guy in the shell suit in the Retching Netch who I guess is for hire and as FINS affects NPC behavior we might have this sort of issue until the mod owners can update the mods to accommodate Dragonborn
