ive since noticed in vortex new update that the symlink is not an option anymore for starfield. is it correct that the steam version uses the {gameinstalldir}/data folder but the GamePass version of the game uses Mydocs/my games/starfield/data is it possible this is the issue. ca we manually set the destination mod folder to fix it?... it seems all the mod files are all being deployed to {gameinstalldir}/data. i have seen in other forum topics that this is working for ppl (i presume steam customers), so my question is IF the mods deploying into {gameinstalldir}/data is where it should go,(since it works for others) how do i stop starfield from trying to load from the docs/my games/starfield/data instead?

i couldnt load starfield from vortex either UNTIL i set my mod stage folder to be on the same drive as the game install... after that it now loads from vortex (trivially) .... but no mods

same... mods in vortex are doing everything they should. download, install, deploy etc. i just dont think they are being deployed to the correct spot. vortex keeps deploying into the game install directory, but dont work when this happens... if i manually install into the "docs/my games/starfield/data" on c: the mods work flawelessly. also when u click "OPEN" in the menu in the mods page in vortex and chose "open game mods folder" it takes me to the install directory. not /docs/my games/starfield (is this supposed to happen?) for ref. my game install is on E:/Games/Starfield my mods staging folder is E:/Vortex/Starfield (orignally on default C/appdata but that didnt work either) vortex is installed on C: also tried hardlink and and symlink deployment. makes no difference.

bump.. i have same/similar issue, it seems that vortex isnt putting any files into Documents/ My Games/Starfield/Data , in symlink or hardlink deployment. (havent tried Move deployment yet) but rather the {game install dir}/data instead. only when i copy the mod files over to the Documents/ My Games/Starfield/Data does the mod(s) work. from testing it seems having the mod files in the install directory doesnt do anything.? until i figure out what is wrong here its better to just manually install. is the fact that Documents/ My Games/Starfield/Data is in C: and the intall and mod locations are in E: causing this? (originally the mod staging dir was in the default C/Users/appdata....etc location but didnt work either
