  1. @jardin The reason it hit Hot Files is because it'e popular and unique. Do you really believe that the boards would be flooded with simiular mods? Your arguments are stupid and you know it.,
  2. Agree wholearthedly however that is a "people" problem, and like Lisnpuppy said, there's not a whole lot that the moderators can do to stop it without specific enough reasons. If you put something out there to be evaluated, you should excpect there will always be people that like it and people that don't. That's healthy. What isn't healthy is shutting one side down, on the basis that their opinion is diferent than my own. A lot can also be said about constructive and destructive criticism and the forum has its own guidelines in respect to that. Thats why there are moderators. We should just wish/hope that they do their job's the best they can. I agree, it's hard to discern criticism form bullying but sometimes a new modder gets plenty of encouragement, this time he gets scorn. I can't see any rating system that could settle this but there were many very negative comments pertaining to his ability aand that that were against even the basic rules of constructive criticism as this mod did exactly what it claimed. It literally was a cabbage in a pot ndd appart from the noob error of a dirty edit there was nothing for them to whine about other than hurty feelings that their mods didn't get such attention.
  3. To sum mup. I very much doubt that he would have removed a popular mod voluntarily. So if that isn't the case then I need to ask. Is bullying a new modder from this site just because some people hate the fact that he gained a lot of endorsements for a trivial mod acceptabler?
  4. There was that one death threat. I believe I reported that at the time. There were many unpleasant comments along the lines of what i mentioned. I guess most people ignored the disrespect as it was missing the point of this mod. Also, did nobody complaining see the screenies? they were a lot to do with this mods popularity.
  5. This wasn't a rating thing this was a disrespect issue. There is little chance now that this moddeer will ever try to improve. I have no problem when people criticize a mod for valid reasons but I do habve a big problem when pompous people say a mod is unworthy of endorsements and especially when they demand it's removal on the basis that it has recieved them. The only real criticism i can make is that it has a diurty edit but this is where learning begins. you start with something small and he had the smarts to make it something witty. only an idiot would rant against that.
  6. I agree and most people thought the butt hurt replies were the funniest of all the comments for that reason.<br /> I always endorse mods I use, like or consider really well made and think others will appreciate even if I choose not to use them for very long. but nobody should have any expectations. Popularity is as much a factor as brilliance and I hope there's room for both on here.
  7. "...it also shows a kind of pressure on the author to replace it (which they might not want to do." You should be considering more the pressure from mod makers who felt unappreciated and took their frustration out on the author of this mod. PS I accept the error in the database and think I understand more what collision means,.
  8. "I had a tab open of the mod's page from a time before its deletion," Same here, just curious, what are these collisions mentioned?
  9. I don't have a screencap but it was there and was replied too at least once just before the file was taken down. There was speculation thay it was an automated tekedown due to complaints but I find it unlikely moderators would take a file down due to reports alone.
  10. Would if I could. Problem is, I can't - I thought the author removed it, and If the author wants to re-upload the mod he can. The only interaction I've personally had relating to this file is removing a dead link from another file's description page, that took place yesterday - and also the closing of a few reports made about comments relating to this "cabbage" file. Those were closed due to the file already being gone. I removed a post from the comments section - but that was just before I realized it was from a thread in our archived section. So, yeah - if he wants to put it back up he can. Can you explain why a post in the mod thread said "File removed by The Vampire Dante" was made by you?
  11. "there is also the possibility that it was the author's decision, with a moderator acting on the author's request." Considering the popularity and great thread response I find that notion to be unjustified speculation at best.
