  1. I hope you're joking. That's just the presets that your presented with. There is a lot you can do after that before starting the game. Definitely install looks menu though, it adds a lot more options.
  2. What does this do? If it does what I'm assuming it does and modifies "female NPC's bodies" and you have an issue with female NPC's then try disabling it. I've had an issue before when I had "Orphans of the Commonwealth" installed so that it would spawn child settlers, unfortunately it didn't work properly and would spawn adults but with children's clothes which couldn't fit them so they would spawn naked but with the clothing in their inventory. I'm thinking that the mod you have there is making it so that the female NPC's aren't being recognised as cloth-able. Maybe some tags are missing or something, I've messed up the athletic outfit before so that the "" tag was removed and the Diamond City guards walk around in their underwear with the clothes in their inventory.
  3. Another odd thing, sometimes I visit places that I haven't been to for ages, like where raiders spawn and there are still bodies there from when I killed them last time. Left naked and looted, as I like them. It's not happening all the time and the loot in containers and left on surfaces has respawned but I know for a fact I haven't been to that location in over 10 in game days and had been at a location in an entirely different cell so the bodies should have despawned. Anyone got any advice?
  4. I don't know for certain but it seems with every major update and DLC, Bethesda rewrote pieces of the base game or just tidied up code and assets. I know that Spring Cleaning stopped working properly after the author stopped updating it as it was looking for items/assets that had been changed by Beth. I've heard from other mod authors that as the updates/DLC progressed their mods started breaking and working in a way they weren't designed to do because Bethesda was changing core parts of the game without informing people. I'm pretty sure it's the reason the CK and console mods were so delayed, because they had to change fundamental things in their game to get them to work. But it doesn't work well.....
  5. Try this, don't go to that location. Fast travel to somewhere else far enough away, I would suggest Coastal cottage or Kingsport lighthouse and go to sleep for 24 hours. Then run back to Cambridge (the run from the North East shouldn't be too hard). I understand that this will cause the cell to load properly and might solve your issue. I had a similar issue where I was getting a CTD whenever I passed through an area before with nothing of note around, I actually didn't visit this area for 6 in game days but ran back to it from a distant settlement and it loaded fine with no crash.
  6. I probably wouldn't have given him that much information. Also as Jimmy says, there will be issues if you generate more settlers than the game says there should be and as I stated there will be issues with settlers not generated naturally. The way I understand it is that when a settler is "attracted to a settlement", it trips some scripts to add to your game state, though if you just spawn them in and assign them to your settlement then it doesn't trip all of the scripts and there are inconsistencies in your game which will impact you the further along you play. Just fair warning.
  7. I'm pretty sure that Homemaker requires SKE. It modifies vanilla menus because of the increased buildable items. Try disabling homemaker and then restarting.
  8. I always just used the Formal Hat when wearing the Silver Shroud costume.
  9. I've had a loop of not being able to start Fallout up before but it wasn't letting me even get to the loading screen. How I fixed my issue was closing and restarting steam and then everything worked fine, I have no idea why. May as well try that though, it takes about a minute to do.
  10. You can spawn settlers but I've heard they may not behave well further down the line as they haven't been generated "naturally".
  11. Take a screenshot of your fallout 4 directory, where you've installed F4SE, please, so we can see what files you have there.
  12. Hello all, I wonder if someone might be able to help me? Recently I've noticed that I've not been coming across random patrols in the Commonwealth, I can walk through towns and don't seem to have much trouble. The other day though I walked into an area and heard fighting going on and naturally ran toward it. I found BOS, Rust Devils, Raiders, Gunners and robots all fighting each other, bodies everywhere. It was an area that Super Mutants respawn in, the waterworks area just down from Greygarden so there was also Super Mutants but all the other factions/gangs must've spawned in to that area on patrol. Which is crazy. I've also noticed a dip in settlement attacks, which is very strange as I have nearly all of them built up with 30+ settlers and most are connected with supply routes and at one point I was getting at least one settlement defence mission every other day. Then the other day I noticed that all 4 caravan vendors were at one settlement, bumping into each other with Brahmins mooing or whatever noise that is they make. I thought it was strange at the time but ignored it and went about my business. Then I saw Carla at Sanctuary today, I remember seeing her, but I travelled out across country after she'd left to Starlight Drive in and all the traders are there again! Now I don't know if any of these things are linked or what is causing the strange behaviour but I have a suspicion that the same thing is causing it all. To reiterate, when I visit areas that are meant to spawn enemies they usually do (although there were no raiders in Concord main street today) but I'm not seeing many random patrols or encounters. Caravan traders are either not turning up to settlements or just going to the same settlements at the same time and my settlements aren't being attacked as frequently as they should be. I know it's not game breaking but it's annoying, so does anyone have any clues as to what could be causing this behaviour? Thanks in advance.
  13. He removed all his mods from the Nexus about 6 months ago, The Mercenary - Pack, was released in December and is a fantastic mod.
  14. When you download a mod the download is incomplete? Are you downloading it manually or via the NMM? How does the fact that it's not complete present itself? Are you getting an error message, is the file not as large as it's supposed to be or is the download getting interrupted?
  15. Sneak. Kill children. Recruit new settlers to fill the vacancy. Assign job to adult settler.
  16. I was having that issue a while ago, does it crash as soon as the intro movie starts playing? If so, go to steam, right click and go to properties. In the local files tab choose the bottom option, "verify integrity of game cache". It will just check if any of the game files are corrupt. Just try it.
  17. If you keep getting addicted you probably just need to stop drinking. Put the bottle down.
  18. If what I saw on ... I would not call those "DLC" - so much as I would call them "expansion packs", just like "Wasteland Workshop" is not what I would call "DLC" - but an "expansion pack". Based on the expansion packs of FO-3 and FO-NV and what they called Expansion Packs. DLC = DownLoadable Content = Additional content not in the base game = Expansion pack.
  19. I think they are basing all their future profit on the modding community. Even the new Skyrim remaster is relying heavily on unlocked console mod support. It's a good tactic but I think it's a bit lazy, they really could have been taking ideas from popular mods and inserting them into the base game to improve the experience for everyone without just relying on mods and the support of the fan community. I would have liked some more story expansions but I've liked the DLC's so far, it was certainly worth the cost of the season pass.
  20. FFS, I don't even use their stupid mod page. I just want to play the game....
  21. Well, no one suggested anything so I'm reduced to uninstalling, deleting everything and starting again with a new game. I'll not be using anything dependent on settlement keywords or it's successors as I'm sure this is the culprit.
  22. Hi, first off I've got to say I've had issues with my game since the 1.5 patch came out, when it broke a bunch of mods. Currently in my workshop/build menu I am missing a lot of textures/meshes for items, which I think are all mods. Visiting settlements reveals that all objects which are broken in the build menu are missing in the world, walls, buildings, floors, everything. This is what Sanctuary looks like currently. http://i.imgur.com/ef3zBxy.jpg All those pink rectangles are posters. The nonexistant walls make the building far less effective to attacks.... http://i.imgur.com/Pun3WPD.jpg There was a 3 story building here surrounded by a stone wall boundary. You'll notice that you can't see any houses in the background, I used Repairable Sanctuary to replace the houses with "fixed" houses but most are now missing. http://i.imgur.com/RAlFBqH.jpg As above, the main Sanctuary crews house is missing, where Trash can Carla stands in front. http://i.imgur.com/cSRqSsd.jpg This is a shot of the houses opposite showing where I've built on top of them. Obviously missing all exterior walls for this house but some internal walls remain strangely. There should be another house behind it, along with a large generator room with generators in the back yard of that. On top of there, where the steps head up was a fitted out cafe/diner but most of the items are missing as they were added by mods. This is common across all my settlements, just missing elements. Within my workshop menu there are so many missing elements it's ridiculous, the item name still displays but it's just blank/invisible. I've been having problems since patch 1.5, I've had corrupted files and verified the files in Steam. I've replaced Settlement Keywords with SKE and recently replaced that with SKI but I've had issues all along since 1.5. I've also recently reinstalled all the mods in a bid to try and fix this issue but it was present before. I know there must be some kind of conflict somewhere, does anyone have any ideas? I'm kind of ready to uninstall everything, do a fresh install and start a fresh game.
  23. Yeah, the pipe weapons overhaul and the functioning displays mod conflict, it's documented in the page. "Also, mods like Function Weapon Racks or Tactical Weapon Lamps does not work with this mod, as they conflict with one of the entity that this mod edits. Also applies to other mods that you think modifies the base-weapon. Please keep that in mind." There is mention of pipe weapons becoming invisible in the thread, I think I remember that I fixed it by uninstalling functioning displays and reinstalling the mod along with "Pipe Reflex-Sight Fix" and "More Realistic Handmade Pipe Weapons". Any existing pipe weapons that are broken I then upgraded/modded in game or sold if I didn't want them. I think this mod is invaluable for FO4 as it makes the pipe weapons actually practical to use which means the only other weapon mod I use is the "Legendary Modification".
  24. ........Okay, just to update. I reinstalled some mods that I saw were broken, a couple of texture mods and user interface mods, as going into the pipboy the menu was broken. I reinstalled "Def UI", "Better item sorting", "Better Mod Descriptions" and "A Realistically Weightless Colored Sorting Mod". This then broke the game again which is strange but there must be some kind of conflict so I ran the steam validator again, it found one error and fixed it. I deleted DefUI, redownloaded it from the Nexus, reinstalled it and the game now loads again but there are still some messed up mods. It may have been a corrupt download or perhaps it's a conflict I haven't yet found. :pinch:
