Thank you Falro! :)

A lot of the info related to this installation is dated, relates to Windows 7, and I'm struggling to navigate the enbdev.com site. Anyone have a simple walkthrough with updated links on how to get this installed? I can't tell if the file I'm looking at on the site is an ENB or just the ENBoost requirement. http://enbdev.com/mod_tesskyrim_v0314.htm Can I not simply install with NMM as the option is available right on the page? >> http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73618/? Please understand, I've never installed or used an ENB, just want to get ENBoost installed and properly set for Beyond Skyrim Bruma. Thank you for your help in advance!

Hahaha! Best role Stephen King ever played. ;)

Reporting back - I edited the ini file, and upon entering Goodneighbor, instant CTD. So I reverted back to the duplicate ini file, once again, CTD. So I started a new game, created character, then loaded the other save again. Worked for a bit, then froze. Finally went to the save I had just prior to that one, (had to do a quest over) but that one let me progress through to get as a follower. Whatever it was, I've had aforementioned follower since, went into Vault 81 and have been able to do those quests no problem. Haven't seen any grass floating around either. Seems if I just steer clear of Goodneighbor altogether I'm good. Ugh this is baffling. Not sure what worked here, but just happy I'm able to do something. Thanks again for the tip. :)

Awesome! Thanks! I feel like this grass thing happens occasionally with every Bethesda game, and I think this is what I did as a fix in Skyrim. Thank you so much! Giving it a shot, I'll report my findings.

Once again, another bug (possibly unrelated) starting in Goodneighbor. After a saucy night with and there's grass hovering everywhere. Now it seems each interior I enter there's grass everywhere. Each quest so far related to Whitechapel Charlie & Hancock there's grass floating about, and this bug just started happening. I remember it happening in Skyrim as well and there was some kind of console fix for it, the grass procedurally generating or something. Here's some screens, and my load order. Any help appreciated. That was it! Ugh how embarrassing! My stupid brain must have cross referenced the institute power armor and imagined up something that didn't exist.
-
I saw it briefly in a YouTube vid and forgot what it was. Best way I can describe it, the head part is very rectangular and it looked like it had teeth. I thought it was institute power armor at first (kinda boxy with holes in it), but that's not it. It had an almost robotic-canine-like appearance.

Try this: If you use NMM, don't open it yet. Instead open Fallout 4 without NMM so you can access the settings menu. In the first screen, check windowed and borderless. Then go up to resolution and select whatever your screen resolution is. You really can't tell the difference in this mode, it's just like fullscreen. Antialiasing mode - OFF Anisotropic Filtering - OFF Click on advanced, turn OFF godrays, ambient occlusion and weapon debris. Click ok, then exit. Now start the game using NMM. Should have less chance of freezing. At least, that's what is working for me right now.

Hey everyone, I had been experiencing game freezes to which CTRL+ALT+DEL wouldn't even work, the only option was a hard reboot. Seemed to happen in cities like Concord, Lexington and especially Boston Common. I chalked it up to the BoS flying around and fighting in the major areas as too much for my rig to handle, but it appears that may or may not be the case. Here's what I did that let me continue for 3 hours so far without any freezes. I realize this may not work for everyone but I wanted to share in the hopes this might help some of you, maybe I can finally contribute something to help instead of asking this time around. For some reason godrays may switch itself back to LOW, and I'm not sure why that's happening for me, but I was able to do the Freedom Trail quest beginning now where it was nothing but total freeze before. Hope this helps.

Forever loading / possible quest bug? Help appreciated!
AtomForce replied to AtomForce's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Actually if you see my first post in this thread, I've been playing it totally vanilla. I've uninstalled, re-installed, verified cache, etc. I'm pretty sure if the game isn't working as advertised and my specs meet the requirements, that Bethesda is to blame. If Bethesda expects all of us to become debuggers on each release they obviously need to make that clear. I'm not the only one suffering from these issues just trying to run the base game with their DLCs. And it was actually worse without the unofficial patch - and I don't mess with ENBs at all. At least not with Fallout 4. It seems all this that you're suggesting shouldn't be necessary to just play the basic game. The advice is appreciated, don't get me wrong, my point here is that this is a lot of information that people aren't going to know just buying and playing the game, and if in fact that's the only way to get it running properly, surely a disclaimer from Bethesda or some built in notes would be nice. -
I haven't updated the latest Nvidia driver yet since the game (was) working fine. But I'm having the same issues. Just got to The Glowing Sea quest, been doing Nuka World as well and have unlocked about 7 settlements. Now when I'm walking through Concord or Lexington I'll encounter random freezes in which I'll have to completely reboot my system. It feels like the further I get in this game, the worse the problems become. Starting a new game I usually have no issues (except the Goodneighbor bug where I have to start a new game and jump back to that save) and everything will seem to work fine until then. I'm about at my wits end with this game. I love it almost too much to give up on it - but hell, I don't even remember encountering this many issues with Skyrim. I know, completely different animal we're talking, but still.

Forever loading / possible quest bug? Help appreciated!
AtomForce replied to AtomForce's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
My thought too - but no. They vanished. There was only one character save. Not that it was a big deal, but now it seems even creating a new character, it will hold one and the previous will vanish. Even selecting character just the one shows up. :| -
Forever loading / possible quest bug? Help appreciated!
AtomForce replied to AtomForce's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I guess I should specify also that I say "forever loading" because I actually went to sleep last night while it was loading and woke up to the same screen - still cycling through slides and tips. That was about 7.5 hours. This is the ONLY time it does this. Every other place loads without a problem. Even Nuka World which I imagine should be WAY more intensive on the machine. It will load for about a minute, and when my PC activity light stops blinking it is pretty clear nothing is going to happen. Trust me, I can be very patient when it comes to this game, but 7.5 hours? I seriously doubt anything is going to happen after that. Also, since posting this, I've reinstalled F4 and restarted my playthrough twice now with the same issue. It's really becoming irritating because I cannot finish the main quest until I get into this stupid little cell. I want to try the "coc" thing, but if it's only going to cause further issues that's a concern. I'm going to try the old trick again, I'm sure it will work, but hoping sometime in the future Bethesda will address this issue. -
I'm currently using a mod that expands the build limit 3x on settlements using a "bat settlement" command, but it really doesn't seem to be enough. Any mod suggestions that would help? My main concern is save files overbloating from it, but I don't know enough about mods to know if that will be an issue. Any help is appreciated! :)

Now I know modders have to hear from us "gimmie gimme" more than they'd like to - but hear me out first. I am a graphic designer and an event coordinator at a local convention. As such, I meet fascinating artists, creators, and people of extraordinary talent. A friend I met recently named Kurt Zimmerman, a prop builder of legendary skill who's main focus has been Star Wars droids - of every screen-accurate detail in various models. His newest project is ARTOO DECO. This Atompunk/ArtDeco R2 unit. http://i.imgur.com/Hk4PcQF.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/gUsGclJ.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/3e4jxoz.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/uCqwyop.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/MQGCUKd.png This follower would fit right in with the 50's deco feel and could have possibilites with Science and terminals... opening doors, maybe even projecting decoys. But I'm getting ahead of myself here, if anyone is interested in making this mod, please let me know. If there's interest out there I'd like to get his blessing on it. I haven't learned anything about the GECK or Blender but if I could contribute in digital images or Ps in some way please let me know.

Forever loading / possible quest bug? Help appreciated!
AtomForce replied to AtomForce's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Well, glad I'm not alone here, but that's not a good thing - I decided to try something else - Opened Fallout 4 Started New Game Finished Character Creation, then exit and save. Go back to old game, It loaded! When it happened again, this time I just loaded that character creation save. Worked again! THEN - THE THIRD TIME - ALL MY SAVES JUST VANISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!! EXCEPT FOR THE CHARACTER CREATION ONE! So bizarre. Luckily I love this game enough that a new playthrough was just fine by me. Looks like freeing up savegames by deleting old ones does help the performance. As for starting a new game and reloading the old one, does anyone know WHY this method sometimes works? -
Hey everyone, I've been playing Fallout 4 quite a bit with the game vanilla, no issues. After starting the "Dangerous Minds" quest in which I have to travel to Goodneighbor, I've had this forever loading issue start happening. Never did it before, and I have no mods installed and all DLC. Decided to make sure it was updated first, and it is, so I installed Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch after modifying the Fallout4Custom.ini file to enable mods in the hopes that might fix the issue. Unfortunately it didn't help at all. I read the FAQ, made sure my load order was correct, and the game of course runs fine up until I walk into a building or fast travel, where I encounter the forever loading issue. It doesn't seem to matter what building I go into or where I fast travel to, happens regardless. Further research has me seeing that many others are having problems with this quest in general. I don't know enough to know for sure what is causing the issue - any help at this point would be welcome. Thanks! I'm revisiting Oblivion as well too :) Who doesn't like to revisit Cloud Ruler Temple, remembering the days when we were still imagining Skyrim? Or watching the sunset in Anvil? Or walking through, observing the trees wavering in the breeze in Chorrol? I like Skyrim, but Oblivion has always been my favorite of the series, maybe because it's such a relaxing environment in comparison to the harsh life of living in Skyrim.

Full xbox 360 controller support ( I got it working)
AtomForce replied to thomriis's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I cannot believe I overlooked turning the joystick off in the ini file! Everyone has been saying Xpadder works great, so I decided to get it - but noticed everything was ganky as all get out in-game. My issue was just changing that one damn value! I guess it was sensing both controller and keyboard therefore activating things TWICE, plus if this value is not changed, walking/running is all over the place if not impossible. It's not perfect (in comparison to native console controls), but I lean forward at a desk all day at work - it's nice to be able to lean back and relax with a controller in my hand after a full day of that. Sorry, I know this is a really old thread that has been addressed time and time again, but I couldn't just scroll through without saying thank you, so thank you! :) -
Oblivion ENBs and your experiences / older machines
AtomForce replied to AtomForce's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
Oh wow, that has a lot of other great features too! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try that! :) -
Hi everyone! I just want to start by saying I have never used an enb, but have read up quite a bit on it. Reason I haven't used one yet is that Skyrim's enb system requirements were typically too much for my machine so I assumed at the time the same would apply to Oblivion. A friend told me the other day my machine might be able to handle an ENB, but before overwriting files and getting into it, I wanted to see if any of you had older machines that could handle it first. I'm running Win 7 32 bit SP1 Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00GHz 4G Ram 1023MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 (EVGA) I have no mods installed currently and am playing the GOTY Deluxe Edition. My questions - have you successfully used an enb with a similar rig? Can I even run an enb on what I have? If so, which enb would you recommend? Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. :)

Mod Thought: Replace Delphine OR Cut all Blades content
AtomForce replied to Sirenapples's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Agreed! The closest I've seen yet was the Paarthurnax dilemma: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/18465/? But of course this mod doesn't get rid of Delphine or Esbern. A Dark Brotherhood quest to murder Delphine and Esbern would be relieving, or a mod to "revamp" the Blades completely (or take over the Blades and recruit new blood that sees things your way) would rock. -
Mod Thought: Replace Delphine OR Cut all Blades content
AtomForce replied to Sirenapples's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I second this! Cloud Ruler Temple in Oblivion was a much better inclusion of the Blades imho. I totally agree with you on this one, in addition to Esbern glitches being rampant and lame dialogue with Delphine, it'd be nice to have a mod like this. And Paarthurnax rocks. I've never killed him and never will! -
Help! The Thalmor are CRASHING my game!?!?
AtomForce replied to AtomForce's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Used TES5Edit, couldn't locate any conflicts save for the ones that were in red and were supposed to overwrite others such as the dark brotherhood armors. Nothing critical. I finally gave up and used SETSTAGE MQ203 5 to advance forward and now there's no crashing. Oddly enough, EVERY time I've played Skyrim including on PC and 360, I always run into glitches with either Esbern or the main quest line looking for that guy. Thanks for pointing out TES5Edit to me, it will definitely come to good use in the future!
