  1. Thanks for the reply. I tried reverting to the version I was playing before I returned to the game and Steam did the update. I reinstalled the older version of SKSE and disabled any mods that I had updated. Still have the same problem. I had previously even disabled all my mods and tried starting a new game in Steam using the updated game, no SKSE, and no mods. Still have the same problem. Right now it's looking like my game itself is corrupted and the only recourse is a clean re-install of the game from Steam. I don't want to do that. I spent countless hours getting the game to look and play the way I wanted with over 200 mods all working perfectly with virtually no crashes, lagging or glitches. Not sure I want to go through that again to get back to the same point. Think I'm just going to quit and move on to something else.
  2. Hoping someone has some advice. I just today returned to Skyrim SE after several months of not playing (got tied up with DOOM, Fallout 4 and Witcher 3). I updated a few mods, plus SKSE (mistakenly didn't try starting the game before the mod updates; but previous experience has taught me that the latest Steam game update wouldn't play with an old version of SKSE anyway so I just updated things before starting). Anyhow, when I start the game in SKSE, I just get a black screen for a few seconds and then it spits me back to the desktop, same thing after about a dozen tries. I tried (several times) to start the game using just the Steam "play" button, the game tries to start but when I get to the point of either starting a new game or continuing an old save, I get another spit-out. So basically I can't start Skyrim SE at all. I've done some web-searching and tried a few things (disabling particular mods, trying to start without an internet connection on the theory that the Creation Club thing is killing me, of course running LOOT and FNIS several times, manually going through my load order for potential problems); but nothing seems to work. I'm hoping some of the smart folks on this forum can help me figure this one out. I never had any problems with SE before; in fact it was way more stable than Oldrim even with more mods installed. It's like something happened to my game the last 3 or 4 months without me doing anything. Could it be a Windows 10 update thing or a game update thing? If so, any ideas how to fix the problem short of uninstalling and reinstalling the game and scrapping all my mods?
  3. Anyone know a way to remove the 105 level cap on enemies in a NG+? I'm playing with an uncapper mod that allows Geralt to get to Level 200; but all the enemies he fights seem to be capped at Level 105. It's obviously not a huge problem; but most of the enemies present little challenge once Geralt gets way above them (kind of like venturing back to White Orchard to fight drowners once you've completed Blood and Wine). I tried the following mod: www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/442 but I don't believe this mod was ever updated to work with 1.31, and when I try to run the game with this installed I get un-resolvable errors at start-up that I'm not savvy enough to fix (script-merger doesn't see them so it cannot fix). Any advice would be appreciated.
  4. Thanks dubiousintent and Fkemman11 for the replies; but I still stand by my original comments. When it becomes a lot of work figuring out how to get mods to play right in a game that's twitchy to start with, it begs the question 'is it really worth it?' I regularly play Skyrim SE with over 120 mods installed and don't have anything like the crashing problems I had playing FNV with less than 10 mods installed. I was able to get an improvement by removing the anti-stutter mod. That seemed to be the primary culprit for the constant crashes and lock-ups, and I'm guessing it had to do with the Win 10/Oct Win update incompatibility that's mentioned elsewhere on these FNV forums; so I guess if I decide to continue playing FNV I'll just live with the stutter inherent in the game as it comes from the maker. But ..... I'm still wondering is it worth it to try and install some other mods and spend time working through the issues with those, or just shelve the game and move to something else?
  5. Just thought I'd break out the old FNV and try some of the mods recommended by Gopher, et al. Who knew? Playing FNV with mods just makes it crash more often and more inexplicably. Seems like there's just so much involved in getting any mod to work properly or to not cause constant crashes, is it even worth the effort? Looks like it's back on the shelf for this one.
  6. Thanks cdredz, you are awesome!
  7. I would second this request. It's always bugged me that you can miss opportunities to train with trainers, especially at lower levels when you may really need the training, because you leveled-up 4 times while fighting your way through an ancient ruin. It's almost like the game forces you into an Oblivion-like efficient-leveling mode; where you just leveled-up then say to yourself, "Uh-oh; I'd better not do anything to level up again until I can get to a trainer and get these 5 training sessions done." Where's the fun in that? I'm surprised that no one has attempted a mod to fix this in the past; but I couldn't find one. An uncapper mod sort of circumvents this problem, but isn't really in the spirit of the game. I'd rather stick with the original game scenario where you can get only 5 purchased training sessions per level; I'd just like to not have to skip any of those when a trainer isn't handy.
