Indeed, if it remain silent it's just that something goes wrong during the conversion. I suggest to make a try with MultiXwm and see if it works for you.

The easy way to replace the main theme is to convert your track to .xwm, rename it as "mus_maintheme" and put it in your ~/skyrim/Data/music/special
