"Verify Game Cache"... sorry to say that but this is so basic (to me) that I didn´t see any necessarity to mention it as "done". Seems that adding this SKSE.ini helped, but I will spend some more time testing. Thanks.

Scroll down to next Problem -.- Topic Problem: SOLVED! Problem was a missing .ini File for SKSE! Hello, as the topics name suggests, SKSE is the main cause of crashes (for me). Right now I am in the process of reinstalling all my previous mods one by one and go through a playtest after EVERY MOD INSTALL. So after some meory related testing I reinstalled SKSE (the newest!) and started the game. And it crashed after about 5 to 10 minutes of playing independent of what I actually do, but mostly while moving around. The thing is, that the game DID NOT crash when SKSE was NOT installed. I use a clean savegame made with a fresh vanilla Skyrim. So far this is what is enabled: GameMode=Skyrim Skyrim.esm=1 Update.esm=1 HearthFires.esm=1 Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp=1 Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp=1 Dawnguard.esm=1 Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp=1 Dragonborn.esm=0 Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp=0 NOTE: Dragonborn is disabled due to unsolvable script errors causing the game to crash. I need SKSE for some Mods and I never thought it to be one of the problems... If any other mod wouldn´t work it would be okay, but this? It´s the most basic thing to get Skyrim Mods running I guess. Finally I found a soultion... While not completely reinstalling Win8, i just "refreshed" the system with my Windows-DVD... and now Skyrim runs again :D I guess this was the only way to repair this mess... although I have some more to do now... reinstalling all previous software stored on C:\ and so on. But as long as everything runs again as it should do, I don´t care. And we see again: "Reinstalling" Windows fixes all software related problems xD Okay, not ALL of them but most... I guess... :/ Thanks to everyone who still posted here to help :) I appreciate it :D

After one week of being busy at school, i finally found time to try again... With the same result. Skyrim won´t start even after deleting literally EVERYTHING of it from this PC. No, there are NO leftovers. Deleted: - Game Files with all Mods in "Data" - NMM, BASH, etc. and all off their Mod-Folders etc. - Registry Keys - AppData folder belonging to Skyrim, reslist folder - Savegames, skyrim.ini ... So, when I reinstall it, it IS like "a virgin" but it still does not run. Maybe I just reinstall Windows -.-° That´s easier than finding a solution for an exotic problem like this. And it will work... Thanks for help anyway, you tried at least :)

Well I meant uninstalled, sry^^ i still have a backup though... Okay, I didn´t know there are files in AppData... --- I used NMM but switched to Wyre Bash previously, as it is much better when 100+ Mods are installed... I also used SKSE, yes as most mods need it anyway... --- For creating new files I use the default launcher... SKSE is not installed right now. Getting Skyrim running without anything is most important. ... So I deleted those files in AppData also now, but it´s no better. The game still crashes during intro. Edit: When I use Stem Repair, I always get the message that 1 file is damaged. But even after redownloading it, it doesn´t work -.-° Thougt that could be important information.

How can I miss ESP´s and stuff when I completely reinstall the game (with all DLCs)? But I can try it... at least this is something new to me :smile: As I said above NO Mods are active right now. For the beginning the plain vanilla Skyrim is enough to run... after this modding is next.

Hello, as the topic title says, Skyrim crashes at startup all the time. Sometimes I see a bit of the Bethesda Intro, but mostly it crashes instantly. So here is what I tried already: - Fix with Steam - Uninstall -> Reinstall, including complete delete of the whole remaining Skyrim Installation folder - Of course all Mods disabled - Deleted skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini and all savegames (did a backup^^) - The often suggested change of Windows Audio settings from max to 24bit/44Khz - Registy Keys of Skyrim deleted - maybe something else I can´t remember right now... PC: - Core i7 3820 @4,12Ghz - 16GB RAM - 2x NV GTX770 (340.XX WHQL Driver) - Win 8.1 Pro x64 I hope someone can help me here... I´m quite used to fix up problems like this myself, but it seems this time it´s beyond my capability. If nothing helps, I´ll go reinstall Windows, as there are problems with NV-Surround as well. But this is unrelated to the Skyrim Problem, I guess...
