  1. So as I understand it, you are not getting to the launch screen-- (where you see new, load, etc.) But when you deactivate a mod (like cloaks) you can get to that and actually play? So then you add something else and it doesn't work again? Is this what is happening?
  2. I do see the problem. I am wondering if it may be caused by factors outside of the game. For example, I get that if I forget to turn off background automatic backups. (to my external drive.) How do you turn those off in your computer--auto virus scans/definition updates, Windows updates, Background scans or updates of any kind, which might include email, IM, etc? Are you playing with Steam in offline mode? With all other programs (such as browsers and whatnot) turned off? Also, I would check to make sure Nvidia Inspector has you set in single-display performance mode, not multi-display,
  3. That is because there are patches that are required in order for these to work together. You can find information about that on the respective mod pages. Do you have any mods that are not listed in your BOSS (mods under "unrecognized, mods without .esps, enbs, etc.) Also, are you launching from the skse loader? What happens if you try the default steam launcher?
  4. This video may help you. (gopher's begginning mod series)
  5. Oh, that's a good point. I wonder if you need to turn on file sharing between the two users to be able to access the specific files.
  6. I am sorry, this sentence is unclear to me. are you saying that you deactivate mods, then, if you decide that one is related to your problem you remove it, and you game is stable, but then you add a new mod and it crashes again? If so, what mods, exactly have you removed?
  7. Even though it is a troubleshooting thread, this link may help you. It identifies a bunch of magic effects. If you are asking how to add an effect in the CK, you may find this video useful. Or this one. Also, there is a handy list of non-video tutorials here, if you prefer those.
  8. Please follow the instructions in this thread for what is needed when posting for help. Definitely your BOSS log text file is needed.
  9. Maybe make sure your other user is set an an administrator, then re-assign admin priviledges to all of the .exes related to Skyrim (steam, skse, NMM , Skyrim, etc.) by the right-click, "run as administrator" thing. Also, it looks like you have done this, but make sure that you are connected to steam from that user name. And that you have completely exited out of everything skyrim-related on the other user.
  10. Have you recently removed any mods, or made changes to your prefs.ini or skyrim.ini? Do you have the the most recent skse? Are you loading from that?
  11. I have that problem sometimes, in Firefox. I find that I can work around it by typing a random character (like x), highlighting the x and then clicking paste.
  12. If you are using BOSS 2.2.0, and the order is still wrong, you can dictate the order in BOSS extremely easily'Just open the BOSS GUI and click on the "edit user rules".
  13. the Step Guide to reverting to vanilla is faster and more effective than traditional re-installation. In addition, once you get to the end of the process, but before adding anything, you can make a copy to some other location, which will speed the process even more next time.
  14. Sorry, I added to my post while you were responding to it.
  15. If you are seeing that with immersive weapons, you are using an old version. Make sure you have version 1.5 of Immersive weapons, 7.1 of immersive armours, and 2.2.0 of BOSS. A few more things--you need to clean your mods and DLCs with TES5Edit. From Hoth's sticky post om IA Did you add all those mods one at a time, run BOSS and test? That is the best way to identify a problem when starting. You also have some other messages abotu things to be fixed (I'm looking at the list a couple posts back, apologies if that is not your most up to date one.)
  16. More information is needed to help you. Please post: your BOSS log text file, enclosed in spoiler tags Please post a segment of your papyrus log at the time when you are trying to talk to someone who is not responding (about 40 lines, also enclose in spoiler tags.) Please provide your computer information-- CPU, RAM, GPU, VRAM, graphics driver version. Please get and use the Skyrim performance monitor, and post the results. (also around the time that an NOC is not responding) BTW, the spoiler tag is in the pulldown menu of the third icon to the left on the top toolbar. If you haven't tried a new/different keyboard, then I would do that first, because it could be something as simple as that.
  17. Follow the Step guide to reverting to a vanilla skyrim. That will do it; just follow the guide exactly. Then, do not put all of your mods and ini changes or whatnot back on top of the game. Make all changes one at a time, play in the game to check for performance before making the next change. If you remove something go back to the save from before you first added it (which is really only possible if you are making changes one at a time. Make sure to clean the DLCs with TES5Edit and take care of any other messages in the BOSS log as you go.
  18. Have you tried to use something like Skyrim performance monitor to track what is going on with your computer during the game? If not, that may help. If you are not sure how to interpret the data, post screenies of it.
  19. If you don't have one, you can make it. Just create a notepad file with that info, save it as skse.ini and put it in the skse folder in your data folder (you may have an skse plugins folder already inside the skse folder, son't put the .ini inside that, though). If you are not using the alpha 1.7 skse, you may want to; it has some nice new features. That version, I think, automatically adds the following lines to your skse.ini-- [Memory] DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=512 ScrapHeapSizeMB=256 But you can add those manually, as well. It helps with cell load/scripting crash prevention. You can read more about that here.
  20. TES5Edit cleaning the mods and DLCs that BOSS is flagging may be all you need. It seems daunting at first, but honestly if you follow the linked tutorial it is very easy. Plus, it is set up to make a backup copy so you can revert to that if you do somehow make a huge mistake. But you won't. Well, crap. I posted before I read your log. It looks like you have a lot of scripts left over from mods you have removed, but incompletely. The most certain way to fix that would be to start a new game, using the Step guide revert to vanilla. However, you could try making she that your skse.ini has these lines: [General] ClearInvalidRegistrations=1 And you might try this script cleaner--it seems to be a better tool than previous ones due to it's more targeted system. However, any script cleaner is really a last ditch attempt.
  21. Yes, though the alpha build (1.7) has improved functionality. Also, it now has an installer version, which simplifies things, thank goodness. although none of that is related to your current problem. Let me know how things go after the TESEdit and mod placement...
  22. Cleaning the DLC files is very important. The unofficial patches do not do that. The TES5Edit tutorial explains it better than I would. (Follow the link in BOSS) You can use TES5Edit to open up unrecognized files and sort based n conflicts. Or you can revist the mod author's page--often there are specific instructions about placement there. Usually BOSS gives a message about your skse, whether it is up to date, etc. Maybe you cut that part off in the post? Or are you maybe using an older version of BOSS? The latest version is 2.2.0. Since older versions are on a different site, which has been closed down, having the current version is also important (maybe you do, just FYI)
  23. I suspect you need to go into your Windows Default Programs (from the start button), open the file associations, look for 7z. and disassociate it from Windows Media.
  24. Based on your BOSS log, it looks like you need to get skse. Also, clean the flagged mods and DLCs with TES5Edit and properly place the unrecognized mods.
  25. You downloded the Skyrim Uncapper and installed it? If not, do that. Then if you are using T3nd0's settings for the uncapper, just make sure that the uncapper.ini is in the correct folder-- data\Skse\plugins. If you want to test if it is working, open the .ini file and make a change that would appear right away (for example, under perks at level up, change the value to something extreme like 10). Then, at your next level up, if you get 10 perk points, you know it is working. Obviously you can just revert the value back to normal, and return to an earlier save to avoid actually having 10 perk points. Also, even at level 100, you can manually change the values in the uncapper, so if for some reason it is not working when you get to level 100, you can still fix it.
