  1. No but you should install them, and check them in the creation kit load. But do not make them your active file. If you did that before, that is where your problem lies. You may be able to avoid the reinstall by removing the lunari mod, if that is indeed what you did.
  2. You will do better posting your own thread, You need to read this thread on how to post a help request, and follow the instructions.
  3. I don't use a certain patch; I just use T3nd0's reprocc, and I don't have that problem.But I am using 7.1, not 7.
  4. I think you could get around this morally by making a distinction between murder and self-defense. Killing regular folk in their sleep to get to their ring or necklace or whatever is not the same as being detected by a bunch of bandits who are coming at you with battleaxes, and killing them to save your own life. While a purist might say all killing is murder, I would suggest that a thief has already committed to a morally grey lifestyle, and is probably more likely to be willing to make fine distinctions in other areas of morality. (Though definitely stealing undetected from a group of bandits would earn you style points!)
  5. Based on your posts, it looks to me like you made a significant error somewhere back in the beginning, maybe accidentally saving your file to another mod's esp... My suggestion, though it is painful, would be to use the STEP Guide revert to vanilla to clear your game of whatever it was that you did. Then, do not add any mods, just work on your personal mod, from the beginning all over again, carefully following the tutorial (I really like BestInSlot's video, it may help you.) Make sure to save and name your .esp. Only after you have a working .esp, then consider rebuilding your mods list. Do this slowly, one mod at a time.
  6. There is a categories option in the pull-down button that says "files" Click on that and then you can choose whatever category you like. You can sort according to your preferences-most endorsed, most downloaded, most recent, etc.
  7. Please post your BOSS log. Also, post the 40 lines of papyrus script around the time that you activate the shout.
  8. Well, maybe, if you are planning on adding all of them to your game--- But no, I meant when you find one you think you want, read everything before actually adding it. Not all will appeal to you. I assume.
  9. No worries, take it slow. There are lots of helpful people on this forum! For the top 100 I just meant this page on the nexus (I think there used to be a top 100, sorry to confuse!) Definitely, any mod you are thinking of using, read EVERYTHING the mod author provides-- not just the install instructions, but any FAQ, readmes, discussion threads, the whole thing. This will save you tons of problems down the road.
  10. Lol. Yeah, my dyslexia only works on math. Definitely clean all those mods BOSS flags. Unlimited bookshelves has some controversy lately, it seems--since you already added it, my vote would be to clean it and hope for the best. Also you definitely need to hand place all the unrecognized mods properly or that will cause crashes. Mod authors generally put info on where their mods should be placed, or you can use TES5Edit for that, too.
  11. Well, there you go. You are exceeding the limits of your graphics card, and pushing pretty hard at the limits of your CPU, as well. You need to pull back on your lighting, effects, and high-res textures. A texture optimizer may also help (like SMCO).
  12. Is this the first time you have ever added mods, or are you attempting a new game? If you have modded before, and removed mods, maybe reinstalled, then you need to follow the STEP Guide to reverting to vanilla. Clean the masters with TES5Edit. Then add mods and other changes one at a time, test in game. Unless you used STEP, your problem is likely caused by remnants of mods incompletely removed. If this is the first time you have ever modded, 1. Make sure you have this line in your skyrimprefs.ini [Launcher] bEnableFileSelection=1 2. Make sure you have given administrator rights to Steam, Skyrim, NMM, skse, anythng related to the game. (Right click on the icon or .exe file, choose "run as admiinstrator" from the list that pops up.) 3. Clean all the DLCs with TES Edit. 4. Remove all mods and begin a new game. Add mods one at a time, open game and play a bit to be sure it is working. Also, make sure you have properly loaded skse, which you need for SkyUI and other mods. If you want to start over, which may be faster, the below may help you. Here is Gopher's vid on BOSS and his Beginner's Mod Tutorial
  13. Yes, you should definitely clean all the DLCs, for certain. Usually if BOSS says it needs cleaning, then clean it. However--you are getting a message to clean the unoffical patches? Can you please post your BOSS log?
  14. Lol it's morning where I am... Here are some resources that will help you. I definitely recommend starting with Gopher's tutorial series for new modders. Then, look through mods, especially the top 100. GEMS has a very good list of mods if you like realism. STEP has a list of good mods to make the most of good and very good computer rigs. Also, here are some of my suggestions for trouble-free modding (you can skip the clean vanilla install part since you have never modded.)
  15. Since your problem could be related to the performance of your hardware and/or graphics settings, getting that information may be the key to your problem. When you are back on your game computer, please use Skyrim performance monitor and then post the results.
  16. The spoiler tag is in the pull down menu of the third icon to the left on the top toolbar. Something is wrong with your skyrim.ini. Please go to your mydocuments\mygames\skyrim and look for the skyrim.ini that is there. Copy/paste, spoilers. If that is identical to what you have posted, I suspect you need to 1. Verify your game cache on steam 2. Launch once via the default steam launcher 3. Go back and check the .ini again. (And check the game, this might have solved your problem.)
  17. Missing textures after attempting to reinstall the game would suggest that the reinstall did not work completely. Try verifying your game cache on Steam.
  18. Post your prefs.ini and skyrim.ini, please. If you are using anything but the default 5 ugrids to load that could be your problem. Also, when you reinstalled, did you follow the STEP Guide to revert to vanilla? If not, that could be your problem.
  19. Are you looking at the Directx file inside steam\steamapps\common\skyrim? How many files do you have?
  20. Dragons sometimes just get stuck like that. It is a glitch that appeared before any of the DLCs. The easiest solution to the current dragon is to go back and redo the dragon fight. Then be sure not to fast travel away. Clicking on the dead dragon and typing "disable" in the console should remove it, but I am not swearing that won't have other unintended consequences. I have noticed that this hasn't happened for me since I started using the unofficial skyrim patches, but that may be a coincidence. Also, are you using the latest skse (1.7) with the following lines in your skse.ini? (that is in your Skyrim\data\skse folder) [General] ClearInvalidRegistrations=1 [Memory] DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=512 ScrapHeapSizeMB=256 Generally, if you are getting the problem with dragon fights that the dragon does not give up a soul upon death (to you or Miraak) the solution is to save the game, don't exit, but reload what you just saved. The soul script should then trigger upon the reload of the save. I don't think that is going to work for your situation now, but it may help in the future. (also, if you haven't done so, run BOSS, read the log, take care of ALL the messages. TES5Edit cleaning, unrecognized mods, mods that need patches, or are outdated, everything.)
  21. You post leaves some questions--but thanks for the log. Without any other information on the crashes you are having, I would say, you need to use TES5Edit to clean the DLCs, as BOSS is telling you. Follow the link in the log. That really needs to be done in any case. However, depending on the details of your CTD, other things may be involved. Please describe the CTDs in more detail--where, when, any patterns (like activity or time in the game). What did you do just before they started (Added or removed a mod, etc.) What have you tried to do to fix it yourself?
  22. Well, unless you used the STEP Guide;s instructions to return to vanilla skyrim, and followed it to the letter, I would still put my money on remnants from your old game. After that, I would use TES5Edit to clean your DLCs. And get the Skyrim performance monitor to track how your hardware is responding to the game, along with what use is using your resources.
  23. You don't have to be a premium member to download files on the nexus. You just have to register as a member. Likewise, the unofficial skyrim patches are mods you need to download. BOSS is a support program that helps with load order, but also generates a log with important information about your mods. You can get it here. It sounds like you are quite new to modding. Gopher has an excellent video series that will help you understand a lot that I just described and help you get you game up and running well.
  24. Are you using the Unofficial Skyrim Patches? Also have you used TES5Edit to clean your DLCs? If not, taking care of those two things may solve your problem. If it doesn't, copy/paste the text file of your BOSS log so that someone may be able to give more advice.
  25. You might find it helpful to take a look at BestInSlot's video tutorial on making a follower.
