Well any mods that affect animations, NPCs, horses.... Have you run your mods through BOSS to make sure your load order is optimal? Other than that, if you post your mods here in their loading order, someone might notice something that could help you. Otherwise you will need to go through basic troubleshooting to identify the problem.

You are right, fixing it is going to be time consuming. The fastest way would be to start over with no mods and a completely clean install. I'm not sure your reference to using NMM vs, manual install...? I am not thinking your problems were caused by manual installation, but rather improperly uninstalling or updating mods (this can be accomplished with the automatic updater, it does improve the process but you still need to read the readmes before making any changes to mods to avoid problems.) One of the difficulties with trying to fix what you have is exactly what you are running across....especially of the script error is related to an incompletely removed mod, it may be difficult if not impossible to identify the source or fix it. However.. BOSS is sorting software (that is what the ss in the name refers to) it not just lists them, but can also sort them so they load optimally. The bash tag suggestions are for compatibility with Wrye Bash, which you may or may not want to get into at this point...you can find it on the nexus if you want more info. Boss will often also let you know if you are running two mods that do the same thing , and may provide notes to help, but it is not intended to be bug fixing software, so it is not going to solve all mod-related issues. It is very good, I believe, in helping to avoid problems on the front end by providing you with optimal load order. If you decide to try to fix this, (instead of starting over) my guess is that you could be looking at least at 5 hours time. You would need to address all of the errors you see in the BOSS and script logs. The error log, as you have noted, refers to files but not necessarily to the mod that caused the change. You have just a lot of mods, and as you stated you have removed some, possibly incorrectly. I know it is extremely painful to start over, but that is my recommendation for the most efficient way to solve the problem. If you are desperate to maintain your current game, you could try: 1. Verifying your game cache through steam. If you are very lucky, this will fix the scripts missing from mods if you improperly removed them, and your life will be good. It is kinda a long shot, but it could work, and shouldn't hurt anything. 2. If that doesn't work, you could try properly removing all of the mods you currently have exactly following the mod author's instructions, then running the error log again to see if errors remain. If they do, then it is very likely that you do have errors from improper removal of mods. At that point, you will probably have to take a deep breath and start over with a completely clean uninstall/reinstall. But you could try... 3. Try to remember what mods you were updating/removing before the problem arose, then read the mod authors readme and discussions (or contact the mod author) to see if the files you have in your error log are associated with their mod, and what, if anything you might be able to do. 4. You could try a clean reinstall and then try to load your current save game, but this could reintroduce the problem. Honestly I suspect that practically everyone has been in your shoes at some point. I had major issues after the 1.5 update and had to give up a level 50 character. So I do feel your pain. If you decide to do the complete uninstall reinstall, be sure to delete local content through steam, then go through and check to be sure to remove all skyrim files/folders, including your savegame file (under user/documents). Then, when you reinstall, it may help not to add any mods until after you exit the cave. When you do add mods, add them one at a time exactly as the author recommends, run BOSS and play for a bit to check them. (Some people add more than one at a time, knowing that if a problem shows up they will then need to troubleshoot those few instead of just 1.) If a problem appears, go back to the readme of that mod, see of its a known issue for which there might be a workaround. To troubleshoot it, do not just disable it, but completely uninstall exactly as the author recommends. If a mod appears to cause trouble, it may be that it has a conflict with one of your other mods. The way to test that is to play the game with only that mod enabled (again properly completely removing the other mods, not just disabling) if the problem exists with only that mod added to your game, you might want to let the mod author know. They may be able to help you. IF it does work by itself, you can add mods back until the error reoccurs. Then you may need to make a decision about which mod you prefer. Larger mods like Tytannis, Wars, UFO, Deadly Dragons etc can be trickier because they affect so much of the game, so if there is one of those you really like you might add it first, and then see which of your mods play nicely with it. Anyway I am sorry not to have a quick and easy solution for you but I hope something here helps!

Are You Excited to Buy Dawnguard?
Georgiegril replied to David Brasher's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I agree, I will probably put off buying the DLC until I'm bored of the original and the nearly endless mods....at well over a thousand hours of playing time, when I get bored I play with the CK. I definitely got my moneys worth, don't feel "burned" at all. -
do you have scenic carriages? Might be that, or another mod interfering with the process/

new Nvidia driver update released
Georgiegril replied to SergeantGrrock's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
yes but these issues are all caused by not following proper installation procedure. I had the exact issue with the clocks, temp. Reinstalling correctly solves this. However, simply rolling back via your CP does not atually remove the new driver files completely and you may experience continuing problems. The below is from the 301.24 release notes at the Nvidia website. -
I dont mean to offend, but you've kinda got a mess there...:ermm: It may be that you have scripts remaining because of improper removal of a mod (like maybe vurts or some other flora mod, and the arrow mod?). In that case you may have to skip to my last suggestion.... here is what I would recommend: Update all of your mods by rereading the mod author's readme and following the instructions exactly. Then run BOSS. Run the game and see if the problem is solved. If not, I'd try uninstalling all of the mods that are referenced as giving you errors on your log, exactly according to mod author's instructions, then verify your game cache through steam, and then try to play again. If it is still not working, I'd run the log again to see what you might have missed. If there are no errors, and you have made all of the changes suggested by BOSS and it is still not working, I would try removing all mods, uninstalling Skyrin completely including the DLC button and then manually going through and removing and folders left behind (including savegames), then reinstalling. After that, start a new game with no mods enabled until after the cave, and then add mos one at a time, run boss and play to test before adding the next. Also do not disable or uninstall a mod without having read the proper way to do this on the mod's readme. Hope this helps, good luck...

If you list your mods in their load order (any any you removed shortly before the problem appeared) someone might be able to identify the one with the issue. Have you run BOSS and manually placed any unrecognised by BOSS)? You may need to go through basic mod troubleshooting procedure... could be anything that affects NPCs (their appearance, skeleton, behaviors) or possibly anything that affects the house.

new Nvidia driver update released
Georgiegril replied to SergeantGrrock's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
@serg: your post did not cause me any hardship, I did not intend to direct any criticism at you! I had already updated the drivers..... I only wanted to point out that there is a new driver update procedure from NVidia to help others who might experience issues after updating the way most of us have been using forever. If anything, I would criticize NVidia for not doing a better job letting people know there has been a change. Certainly not your fault! I apologize for being at all unclear on this. I think it is always helpful when people post about new drivers. -
Have you tried returning to that site after closing out/re-entering the game?
-
It's gotta be a mod. It may be a mod that seems irrelevant. Just go through basic mod troubleshooting....

Well, that suggests it is a problem with your graphics card rather than the game. (asssuming you didn't do all that and then try to load an old save game) I don't know much about Radeon, but did you update the drivers at the Radeon site? Or, if so, maybe try an older river? If Radeon is anything like NVidia, there will be a thread on their forums that discusses the best update for your card, maybe even specifically for Skyrim. Have you tried stress testing your card to see if it is working properly? (not sure what Radeon users use for that, there are things like MSI afterburner I know people use without having MSI cards...) Not sure why you would install 32-bit if you could use 64-bit...but did you check to make sure your card drivers are also 32-bit? That could cause issues.... You might try posting the picture here on the Radeon forum (I'm assuming there is one)...there could be someone on that forum who knows exactly the cause and the solution. Sorry you are having problems, hope something here helps!

Hard to say if it is a prob with your computer or your mods without more info. Can you please list: Computer processor, CPU RAM, Video card type and RAM Also mods that you have in their loading order and any you have removed just before the problem started. If you haven't already run BOSS for loading order and then manually placed any unrecofgnosed mods, you will want to do that. Also, if you haven't looked at your computer's running temps and memory usage through something like CPU-Z, you will want to do that too. Afterwards, please share any issues related to temp (overheating?) memory usage (spikes, sudden drops, etc.)

A lot of people have problems when using mods before exiting the cave after Helgen. You might try starting a game with no mods, then adding them after the cave. If you don't want to do that, you could try removing any mods that affect animations, player character attributes, or NPC behavior.

Disabling Shadows Permanentaly?
Georgiegril replied to UndeadCreepshow's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You might want to read this page of theGeforce skyrim tweak guide. It deals extensively with .ini tweaks to improve shadows, and includes how to completely disable. Actually, you may be having more problems with your shadows by upping the graphics, because lower resolution shadows are blurrier...good luck! -
If your earlier save actually works properly, you could try play from there. Run your mods through BOSS to check for load order, etc, and hope for the best. Don't install or uninstall anything without reading the authors readme and following instructions exactly. Disable autosaves if you haven't already. It might work, or you might need to start over. How much time you want to dedicate trying to avoid that is your call, obviously.
-
Maybe the best thing to do is a clean reinstall, (including the deletion of local content, savegames and anything else that the steam uninstall leaves behind) and then, instead of adding a bunch of mods, and them one at a time, exactly according to the mod authors instructions, running BOSS and then playing to see if it is working properly. More work on the front end saves you a lot of frustration like what you are experiencing now.

new Nvidia driver update released
Georgiegril replied to SergeantGrrock's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I had major problems with the last couple nvidia updates, until I learned that the old-fashioned driver update procedure is no longer appropriate. If you are having issues, you may benefit from this updated installation guide. It is based on the Nvidia readme files that come with the drivers, but alas no one reads readmes.... -
Most of the time, the problem is due to a mod issue, and most of the time the problem is user error. You can solve the problem by going back to the thread I linked you to, reading Bben's post, and following it.

I think that big mods like SkyMo and DD can cause problems, particularly if not meticulously installed exactly according to the mod author's instructions....but one of the problems with installing a lot of mods like that is that they affect the world space, and if 2 mods affect the same file, you can get a crash. I have both of those mods and they are doing fine for me, but honestly I don't have the latest version of wither, because I am on level 56 with this character and I don't want to mess with what is working for me. I think you might consider, when you are putting back your mods, that you might start first with the mods you think are absolutely essential, and then try to see what other mods you can get to work with those. If you are using steam workshop for any mods, personally I think that can be part of the problem, because of the automatic updating... a mod might be suddenly updated and then start to cause conflicts and you might not even realize it had been updated. Good luck!
-
This is probably mod related. You'll have to go through your mods to figure out which. However, if you have UFO, if I recall correctly, something like this can happen if you don't dismiss your followers before removing and/or updating. You might start by reading the readme for UFO if you have it (or used to).

There have been several posts on this topice lately, have you searched the forum? Here is one recent one that might help. Thread link
-
I'm kinda confused, if you don't use NMM why are you posting here instead of the Steam forum?
-
If you have any problems, please go to that link and read through. NVidia won't remove/overwrite old files, so older versions are still on your computer, and havoc can ensue. I had my drivers suddenly set themselves to their absolute maximum clocks....obviously this cause overheating and I was just lucky that I happened to be monitoring it. It was caused by the drivers not recognizing it's own monitoring software, due to incorrect driver update on my part.
