  1. Yes I know what you mean about no bloom, thanks.

My opinion is, that if I had Skyrim up and running well under specs, with the exception of a bit of sky pixelation, I would just not look up!

Still, if it wasn't there before ENB, it might be worth seeing if uninstalling that helps. Obviously ENB is doing other things you like, or you wouldn't have it, so only you know if its worth getting rid of.

You could try changing your AA to 0 and using FXAA instead, not sure that would make a difference. Lowering texture, even to medium, may help blur the area so that the pixels are less evident.

    Good luck!

  2. Well the first thing I would do is go to your graphics driver website and make sure you have the most recent update.

If that doesn't work I would play with taking all of your settings down a notch, at the very least the textures. Many people with 2g VRAM have problems with the high setting. I have a lame 512 bit card, and I can't get away with better than medium.

Also just to double check, you are having no other problems, no performance problems, no pixelation in other areas?

If that is the case, do you remember if you had a problem with the pixelated sky before adding END and/or no bloom?

  3. You dont list it, but from what I can tell, you probably have 256 Video Ram? That's below what is the minimum recommendation for Skyrim.

However, if you are having no problems with freezing, crashing, or stuttering, just a little pixilation, you might be able to get it working tolerably. However, you may have to accept the it won't always look quite as pretty.

Before I give you a bunch of information that might be irrelevant, can you confirm that you have a 256-bit memory card?

And if you do, could you please add information about any graphics-related mods you might have installed (like ENB, REalistic Lighting, etc)

Also please list your game settings (Low, medium, high, FXAA, Anistropic filtering and Antialiasing)

  4. I'm not confident that total reinstalls really revert back to a clean game. I tried that and even though I scrupulously followed all the instructions (remove local files, registry cleaner, the whole shebang) when I reinstalled, I still had some artifacts when I tried that.

Bettter Horses didn't help? Just trying to keep track of what works and what doesn't.

After a little more thought, It struck me the somehow the player horse faction has been removed. I think you could go through the CK or use console commands and put it back, but I honestly do not know much about the horses. However, the authors of the horse mods you had before might be able to give you some suggestions.

  5. There are 2 skyrim pref.ini files.

    Are you in the one:

    Users/(username)/Documents/Mygames/skyrim?

Thats the one that will have an effect.

    The other,

    program files/steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/skyrim

if forget what it does, but it will not make changes.

  6. How anyone plays is irrelevant to another person's game. That is one of the benefits of single player.

You say you are being confrontational for a reason, but even if you have a noble goal of attempting to help others see the light and adopt your superior form of game play, it will still have no tangible effect. Every game is a separate world.

  7. Did you by any chance changed your ugridstoload?

Have you tried an FPS limiter?

It's possible your computer's speed is outrunning the game engine. The stuttering might be, basically, your game waiting for Skyrim to catch up.

If this is the case, an FPS limiter might help.

I'm not certain what your stuttering is like, but if it's sporadic, not constant, and you have a mod like SkyMonsters, (or any others that general new NPCs) it might be caused by the mod executing a script for a NPC to appear. I get that sometimes.

  8. When does the static occur? Are you doing anything (using your mouse) keyboard, specific actions etc.

Have you checked to see if your sound card needs to be updated?

I know it sounds obvious, but have you checked your connections (speakers, etc).

When did you last blow out your computer to get the dust out? Dust increases static electricity and can cause static sounds and worse.

So if none of that is the problem, what are your computer specs (CPU, GPU, Sound card), mods installed and version of Skyrim?

YOu say you were playing without this trouble for a while, can you think of anything you changed just before this started (add/remove mod, use of console commands to make changes to quests, etc)

  9. It is very likely a mod conflict. Take of the mods that you installed just before this happened and see if it starts for you.

Alternately, take all of them off, and add them back one by one.

The only other thing I can think might work, without removing, is to run BOSS on your mods, and hand place any that BOSS doesn't recognize. A simple strategy is to put like with like, so for example, an unrecognized armour mod would go with the other armor mods, etc.

    Good luck!

  10. That's a great mod to know about Rennn! And also about the turning off background programs.

THe shadows mod makes changes in your pref.ini file, which you can do yourself, alson with the rain and grass, etc.

It's also possible if you can't buy a who new system, you might be able to get a 512MB graphics card for cheap, and that might be enough to put you over the top.

I have a crappy 512 VRAM card but with 6GB ram Quad Core, and I have been able to get Skyrim running well and also looking pretty. Well pretty enough....

If you do get your system working with 256 VRAM you ought to post how you did it, because there are plenty of people who would be forever grateful.

  11. From what I see you need to update your DirectX and graphics driver.

At 256 VRAm, you are looking to really squeeze out any performance. The bare minimum is 512.

Preferred is at least 1GB and quad core.

So if you want to make this (maybe) work, I would

    1. update drivers and directx to their latest versions. (NVidia released an update a couple months ago, you can find it on their website.)

    2. uninstall all mods

    3. disable bethesda's HD patch, if you are using it.

    4. chose the lowest setting for all options on the skyrim menu/options/settings page. disable water reflection.

At that point, if you are playable or close to it, there are some tweaks that do things like decrease amount of grass, rain, snow, etc, which can also increase your fps.

You can also lower your screen resolution, that may help.

If you get things running well enough to play, you might try adding mods slowly and see if your system can handle it.

Alternatively, you could use this opportunity to upgrade to a new system...I am sorry!

  12. I'm sorry I do not know the answer to that regarding Wrye Bash. I did notice you hadn't received an answer yet, so I would suggest going back to the mod's description page, reading the installation instructions and looking for known conflicts. You might also post on the conversations page for those sites, asking others who use that mod if they have the mods in question working well together, and if they needed to do anything to make that happen.
