The odd thing is that they have that other guy, too, who sits on the bench and takes septims. I don't think I ever really wanted to give her anything. Kinda thought of her as an old hippie, rather than a beggar!

It is from an armor mod, but I honestly forget which. I have it myself. To create mythrial, go to the smelter and click on the "misc" menu. Scroll down and you will see the option to create mythrial. You need several items, but it is very self-explanatory.

The above link will take you to Midnight Voyagers's "Neutral Hjerim" mod. It only requires you to finish the "Blood on the Ice" questline in order to buy the house. It doesn't do anything to the house itself. I just bought Hjerim with the use of this mod, no problem. :-)

Yes, I have 6 Mods from steam workshop. They show up on the plugins tab.

Kdaj: I have not had the problem you are describing, and it appears to be a new one. :-(
Did you try everything that worked for other people in this thread? WETrigger error
One solution was to completely uninstall steam (including the registry files and residual folders, using something like cc cleaner) and reinstall.
Rasta: The problem you are describing is how it actually works. The first time I loaded the creation kit it literally took forever. (ok not exactly literally....) but a really long time. I finally went and did something else and then cam back because I couldn't take it. It will say stuff like the message you describe, and it will eventually give you some error messages, just click yes to all. Even after the first time it requires patience but that first time..... Just to check, you are clicking on the file button and loading the Skyrim esp plus whatever else you want (if any) for an active file?
I found the creation kit tutorial/guide to be really helpful. There are video tutorials too, but I am old school. Here is the link to what I use: Creation Kit

What are you running the game on? PC or something else? Is it the latest patch?
Have you remapped any of the control keys? You may want to check just to make sure what you are using is the same as what is listed for the activate key.
Any mods? Which? Have you tried deactivating them? Was there a time when Skyrim was working properly for you and have you tried to duplicate that environment (same mods, settings, etc.)
I haven't heard of this or had this problem before so I can only guess, and a bit more info might help me or one of the many wiser and more experienced forum members help you.

If you have Window 7, make sure you are running the program as an administrator. (right click on the icon and look at the security tab)

To get back to your original question about the psychological cause for modding: my opinion is that in life, we are faced with an innumerable host of things that are not to our taste and/or annoying as all get-out, but over which we have no control. Skyrim is an arena in which we can, with relative ease, make many changes for our own gratification and with the worst result being having to start a fresh game. In real life even changes that are possible often take a great deal of time and effort, and may be met with resistance from those around us.
(Note that by relative ease I mean compared to the real world. I know that creating even a simple house mod takes hours to months, but compare that to trying to build a real-world house on your own, for example.)

Oh, I didn't know that Mr. Whitfield had died, how sad. I hated how much I loved that show, so trashy and yet so entertaining. Just like ancient Rome (or so I read....)
Skyrim at times reminds me of both GOT and Spartacus. And, of course LOTR. And Conan the Barbarian. And occasionally, the Adventures of Briscoe County Jr., oddly enough.

I'm not sure, but it sounds like an incomplete installation for some reason. And I agree, there are great mods on nexus, and I find the atmosphere much more friendly and helpful.
If it were me, i would uninstall the NMM program I was using and reinstall using the nexus wiki page on this as a guide. I found the download page for NMM to be less clear than the nexus wiki on NMM (see the below link)
Hope that helps!

You can also download the BOSS software and run it independently of NMM. It will let you choose if you want it to change your load order, give you a log file or both. You can also check that list against what you see in NMM to see if BOSS in NMM is working. I'm guessing with 100+ mods and no troubles it has been doing it's job for you.

If they aren't activated yet they shouldn't affect the game.
Did Rooker75's tip help?

I have the 9800 gt, and although I think the GTS is slightly better, it is far from top of the line. (not to insult you, ,mine is even worse!)
Even so, I have found it possible to play Skyrim with very satisfying graphics, after some tweaking. Not that I will ever see Tamriel in glorious "Ultra" setting graphics...
Personally, I have found graphic tweaking mods (not texture mods) to be a bit of a crap shoot--ones that work fantastically with one graphics card may not be so great with mine.
If you haven't already, I would strongly suggest that you look at the Skyrim tweaks guide put out by NVidia (Google Geforce Skyrim) it can explain what every setting does, has pictures that show the effects and addresses problems like shadows, so you can make informed changes on your Skyrim pref.ini file that work for your specific card. They also give settings for some of the game cards. They don't have it for the 9800, but the general tweak info was enough to get my game in shape. Good luck!
.Good luck to you!

Thanks for putting all of these in one place

Sooo painful to have to restart like that! Hope your fresh game stays that way!

Thanks for the heads up!

I haven't tried a better Whiterun, but as II recall from reading the mod description, the author recommends making a backup of your game (not just a save) before downloading/installing that mod because of the issues that might arise. Did you do that? I am guessing you would need to reload that backup and start from there, or if you didn't do that, start a new game. You might also check the discussion for that mod and (if you haven't already) check to make sure you followed all of the mod authors recommendations for a successful uninstall.
Good luck!

@ Tidus44: Thanks and right back at you!

Have you tried starting the game with no mods?
-
Sooo......by that logic do you also steal cars?

I want the next game to include the total annihilation of the Thalmor. Not that I carry a grudge... :whistling:

Open your steam. (Usually by clicking on a desktop icon or on the start menu. Look at the top menu (has steam-view-friends-game-help). Click on games. Choose "view game library" from pull down menu.
This will bring up a screen with all the games that are available from steam. Find "creation Kit" Click.
Click the install button and follow installation directions.
I understand you are frustrated, but please remember people on this forum are not the cause of your troubles and are taking their time to try to help.
I hope this helps you.

Also, did you download any new mods? As I understand it, skyrim injects changes from new mods into old saves, so if a conflict with a new mod is causing the problem, it might not help to try to open an old save.

So, with the new pics you loaded, I agree with FNB. I had something like that after trying a lighting mod, and deciding I didn't like the effect. My visuals looked a lot like that. I think even when I uninstalled the mod, it had overwritten some of my pref.ini and/or graphics settings files, and they did not revert to the original after uninstall. I ended up restarting a new game to deal with that, but there is probably a better solution? Maybe check your graphics card software for saturation, gamma and color levels? Or the mod page for complete uninstallation procedures?
Sorry for telling you stuff before that you already know--if I'm doing it again, I apologize again. Also notice the pic link has German on it...if English is your second language you are crazy good at it!
