Hello, I'am playing a strange woodelf who rather than using bows prefers crossbows and other mechanical/engineering kinds of things. Is there a good mod for making trinkets and artifacts and such?

Any suggestions for a realistic looking body texture perhaps similar to Nuska's Real Skin?

Currently I have CBBE installed and set to slim, Navetsea's body textures, and Nuska's Real Skin for Woman installed and it all looks great but my hands and feet seem to be still using the normal CBBE textures starting at the wrists and ankles respectively. Any ideas or thoughts appreciated! Will post some screen shots in a few here.

I must admit I am the worst kind of mod user (The fairly lazy one :P) and the use of TES5Edit seems a daunting task, where would you recommend learning to use it? Also some insight on the Wyre Bash would be appreciated as well, at the moment I am only using Boss.

So I started a fresh new file to start a new character and use some new mods... But, I keep getting CTDs one odd thing I've noticed is with the installation of the newest version of skse using the skse loader I can't seem to get it to launch unless I select run as admin. In the process of turning off mods until the CTDs stop but if you have any ideas or advice it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

So I want to start a new character... easier said than done as I'm the type who wants to plan everything out ahead and really get my character in my head before I actually create it. Role specific mods aside I've already downloaded a few things like Frostfall, SkyRe, Deadly Dragons, Dynamic Merchants, Fight or Fly, Immersive Armor/Weapons, Locational Damage, Climates of Tamriel, TK Dodge/Hitstop. Enhanced followers Aela, Enhanced factions: Companions, Alternate Start: Live Another Life and various other visual mods I'll list if anyone wants. My question(s) are; What role(s) did you enjoy playing the most on one of your play throughs? What mods did you use to make the game more immersive or difficult? What race did you play? Currently I am rolling around a few ideas for a class/role in my head. 1. A woodelf or maybe even a khajiit that is kinda meek and not a brawny type who likes to use crossbows since they are really into the mechanical aspect of it, they would probably very interested in blacksmithing and light armor, a dagger would almost certainly be their secondary weapon. They might proficient at sneaking as a product of being small and weaker, and might posses some magical skill perhaps in alteration or illusion or something more defensively centered. Might look for a mod that allows me to construct things like an engineering mod for dwemer artifacts and such. 2. A crusader/templar/paladin most likely an Imperial or perhaps a Breton. They would use heavy armor and one handed weapons with a focus on swords. Most likely end up pursuing knowledge of the restoration arts and while be a formidable defensive warrior might also play the role of supporter to their ally(ies). They would likely refrain from any crimes but would otherwise be kind of quick to temper, most notably when it involves someone hurting those weaker than themselves or the innocent. Would probably start with very little due to some incident that separated them from their order. 3. This one is probably the one I've given the least thought and is most open to influence. A mage of some sort, probably a khajiit or dark elf, or even high elf otherwise a custom race of some sort. Not sure the discipline they would elect to follow. That's really about all I have for now on it. These are just some quick musings of my own, please feel free to add to them or add completely new ideas of your own. I'm really looking for just about anything so go ahead and throw out any class combos you can think of even the really unique ones! Thanks in advance, SteveD

So I want to start a new character and I have a few ideas but I would love to hear some builds/mods/roles you used or think would be fun to play! So far I've pretty well played out a Hunter and already have a Shield Maiden going. So I was thinking of a conjurer that also uses alteration to buff their minions or perhaps a nightblade of sorts... anyways, thanks in advance for any input!

Well, gave it a try and it seemed to only work slightly, like the angle at which the eyes are view-able is increased so now its only an odd angle like I'm trying to look up my characters nose that they eyes turn black, and they are still missing completely from the racemenu but they reappear if I hit the ~ key while in racemenu... very odd... I suppose it will either fix in the near future or aggravate me enough to eventually attempt to fix it again lol. For now however I just want to play :/ [Edit] Perhaps I need to give up sooner and more often... I finally just gave up and hit the set to ultra button and loaded in and the problem is fixed. If I had to take a stab in the dark I would guess that my card just couldn't do both AA and FXAA? Not sure but with full mods its working again, woot! :D

Installed it manually, and at first I used just the player version then I tried to install the NPC version too even though it is only my character having the empty eye socket issue (Seems males have empty eye sockets and Females have black glossy glass eyes). I just find it odd that even reverting to a fresh skyrim file and a new character would still have the issue with no mods running. Perhaps my "fresh install" is whacked somehow, gonna try and reinstall and see if that helps any.

I was using the Eyes of Beauty Mod when I noticed the glitch, so I tried loading it up with out it and even tried a fresh file and new character but it still show up as either no eyes or pure black eyes.

As the title mentions, my eyes are missing! It only seems to occur at the race menu screen and when I have the inventory open. Tried using a fresh install folder and starting a new game but the problem persists, wondering if it is something Dawnguard related or if anyone else experiences this issue or has suggestions. No, I don't believe so. I wanted to use it with expanded color selection-eyes, but it says it should be compatible. And I don't believe I have anywhere near 255 mods lol. Looks like Might have to trouble shoot the old fashion way and take out other mods until it works. I suppose it would be a conflict with a face or body texture mod if anything right?

I have quite a few mods installed already, i'm installing them then loading the game to make sure they run, and i added the full version of extended color sliders and the game crashes after the bethesda logo vid. I'm unsure if this is the result of a conflict with another mod or just me running out of memory. I was thinking it might be a conflict of some sort since i tried using the less, and then the lite version and the crash still happened. Its entirely possible im just miss using the mod as well, i was under the impression that it would allow for more colors for the vanilla races with out the need for the plugin patcher but i very well could be wrong. So some questions I wanted to ask... How much data can I reliably use for mods, how many mods can be activated things like that. (I realized there is probably no exact number so guesstimates would also help as you all probably know much more than I.) If you've had problems/experience with Extended Color Sliders, any suggestions. And finally, if not the above then do you know of any other mods that offer more colors than vanilla does?

After merging files and trying to run bodyslide the process opens in taskmanager (and sometimes seems to use a hefty amount of memory about 86,000 K) but no application window appears. Fixed, it seemed that i had not completely deleted all the files before reinstalling, try this if you get the same problem.

So i uninstalled skyrim to clean out all my folders and reinstalled it only to find this message, need help fixing this. Don't really even know where to start so any direction would be appreciated. Steam just says the game is not available at this time try again later...

It would seem that loading the dragonborn keep mod had some sort of conflict with the half elf race mod I had loaded... problem solved! I still encourage anyone to head over to the Project Skyrim 101 thread to lend your wisdom!

So the game crashes to desktop just after the Bethesda logo appears and before the play, load, continue screen pops up. This started yesterday after I loaded the dragonborn keep player house mod, I promptly disabled the mod but to no avail as the game still crashed, I disabled all mods and more of the same. I realize this is a very vague explanation of the issue and probably not enough to start troubleshooting over the forums. So if anyone can tell me what I need to post to help and where I can find it and such I would be Extremely Appreciative! I may have messed up some of the main files or something as I have been kind of blindly and haphazardly downloading mods and altering the game, if you could please help me with how to restore these things and how to back them up to avoid future problems it would help tons. Being a user of low technical knowledge and know-how I noticed how few or how few noob-friendly guides to basic Skyrim and Modding there is. I figure this will be an opportunity to help both the community and myself. I would like to ideally start a new thread compiling all the knowledge I have gained through this (put in my own nooby easy to understand words). If you would like to help please contribute all that you can that you think is helpful and I will be certain to provide credit in the new guide! A few things to consider: 1. I am fairly low on the tech totem poll of knowledge so if you could please try and keep your answers fairly simplified I would be very grateful. Remember to check back as I may have clarification questions or follow up questions that you may be able to help answer. 2. All helpful tips are welcome, anything that could help a newer player like myself to more easily enjoy Skyrim with as few hitches as possible and preventative measures to potential problems. 3. I will make a short list to be edited and added onto of questions of things I would like to know more about. If you have other suggestions of topics that should be covered please feel free to bring them to my attention, even if you are a fellow noob and have a question that you do not see answered, ask it! 4. Please keep links to other post, sites, tutorials and such as reputable as possible, No Spam Please! 5. Remember this is a guide for the community aimed at helping people become educated in the technical nuances. List of issues I would like to become more educated on (some of these I suspect I know how to do but want to make sure my info is as accurate as possible) 1. How to back up your saves. (The most efficient process, best place to back them up, other useful tips) 2. Define a Clean Save 3. How to install mods manually, (Please be as specific and noob friendly as possible, I will post my current setup but if you could explain the process with other versions of windows [if you know that versions interface] that would be very helpful towards the guide.) 4. Any other useful tips to prevent common problems before they happen or how to solve them after they do, recommendations of how to set up your game, how to avoid game crashes etc. A very big thanks in advance to all those who help contribute to making the transition into a knowledgeable Skyrimer easier. Please remember that everyone had to start learning somewhere so please do not belittle others for their lack of information and know-how, this is meant to be a friendly and prosperous brainstorming community built guide.
