Yes. If the save depends on mods that are not there, it can crash. If you did not disable mods with scripts before uninstalling them, they can leave remnants that can also cause crashes. My advice, which of course you are free to ignore, is to start over, clean reinstall, remembering to remove any files steam misses, especially old save games and manually installed mods. It may hurt for a bit, but the pain of fussing with corrupted saves will probably hurt more in the long run. If there is a way to somehow "revive" this save I'd really rather do it. I know it's safer going with a clean reinstall, but if I do that it's basically throwing hundreds of hours away. Not to mention having to do a lot of missions I didn't like again because I have to (The quests you need to do to actually be able to fight dragons and find shout words...). Thanks a lot though.
