  1. Hello, I am having some problems with textures in Openmw, I tried asking on the Openmw website but I haven't gotten any help from there so I figured I'd ask here. I changed the color of some soul gems and they work fine in Morrowind but have pink textures when playing Openmw (specifically tes3mp). This isn't the only thing that has pink textures. I have the Got Milk mod and the bottles are pink. I thought that pink textures usually meant missing textures but I have the textures in my Morrowind folder. Is it possible the compression of the .dds files is the issue? Or is it something else? Any help would be appreciated and thank you for your time.
  2. I'm having a strange issue. I don't know if you could help or not but I figured I'd ask if you knew what could be the problem. The body works fine in singleplayer Morrowind but when I use it in multiplayer (tes3mp) the body is pink. I thought that usually pink textures represented missing textures but I have the mesh and textures.
  3. Okay, it wouldn't attach to the reply for some reason so I sent it to [email protected] from my gmail account. Thank you for helping me.
  4. Okay, thanks. Is there a particular way you prefer me to send it to you?
  5. I'm not fully sure. I used the textures from better bodies but the race that I made is shorter than High Elf, would that really affect it though? What I did was go to the NiTrishapeData on all of the body parts and did as you showed in the screenshot you posted. That seemed to fix the shadows in NifSkope but when I applied the texture the lighting was better but the seams were clearly visible. I didn't mess with the UV map or anything else. One difference that I did notice was that your model and Better Bodies have the NiZBufferProperty and mine doesn't. Do I need to apply that? As I said I am inexperience with NifSkope so I do apologize if I am asking annoyingly stupid questions.
  6. Okay that fixed the lighting but in game you can clearly see the seams for the individual body parts. When I look at it in NifSkope with the texture it looks fine. Is that the UV map or something else? Thank you for the help I really appreciate it. Here is a screenshot of the problem in CS.
  7. Thanks for responding. This may be a stupid question but do I need to look at the compare the vectors of the default file (the body I am editing from) and the ones on my modified one and make sure they are equal?
  8. Hello, I am currently editing the High Elf body but end up with a strange lighting effect or something. I have attached some screenshots to provide a visual. I am inexperienced at modding meshes for Morrowind and this is actually my first project doing it. I would not be surprised if there is a simple solution to this problem. At first I thought it would go away in game but it did show up when I tested it in game. One observation I made is that I move the camera around it in NifSkope, the shadows change but I don't know what the cause is. The body I was editing is from Better Bodies (for personal use). All I did was reduce the breast size so the chest was the only area I edited. I don't have much experience with NifSkope so I'm pretty sure I am doing something wrong there. I edited the mesh in Blender (2.49). Thank you for any assistance.
  9. Alright thanks for the advice I greatly appreciate it. I probably would have been making big mistakes, I wish someone would make a great tutorial on it. I've been having trouble with the baking in Blender but I will get it.
  10. Levionte thanks for responding, I'm glad to hear from someone. I know it is an ambitious goal at my current level and experience and I am pretty determined to be successful with my objective. I have briefly looked into .tri files and I was wondering if you had done it before and had any tips on that process. I saw some tutorials suggesting to copy an existing one then edit it accordingly. One thing I was curious on is working with nifskope, such as messing with nitrishapes and BSLighting, I hear it is a pain to work with. I watched a few tutorials on working with armor but that was editing armors from the game not custom ones. One tutorial suggested copying the BSLighting from an existing .nif. A lot of the tutorials that I found were made a couple of years ago so I don't know if it is still a valid way of doing it or if there is an easy way. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Okay, I made a low poly mesh of head to bake in xnormal. Do I need to remake a UV map for the low poly head as well? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I saw things that said blender can bake normal maps, would that work for Skyrim?
  12. When making the normal map do you need to make a low poly version to be able to bake in xnormal? I made the UV map in Blender and saved the layout but I'm not quite sure on how to make the normal map.
  13. Hello, the purpose of this post is that I could use some help with my project. I am new to modding so I don’t fully know what it is that I am doing yet. I also am not all that great with computers either so bear with me. My project is that I am trying to make my character look like Jessica Biel. I am not asking for someone to do this for me, I want to learn how to do this. The route that I have been going at so far is to make a custom race using her face, there may be a better way to go at this if so please let me know. I know this is a very ambitious goal at my level but if you have the patience for it I really want to learn. I have been looking at tutorials as to what I’ll have to do. The biggest problem I am having with these tutorials is that most of them are about making weapons for Skyrim or use 3dsmax. One specific area that I am kind of struggling to figure out how to do is normal mapping and what other textures I need. I know I need the .dds file but I’m not sure what other ones I need. I have Nifskope but I’m still figuring out how to use it. The software that I have is Blender and Gimp. I already have a model created in Blender and some texture files for the face and eyes. My starting mesh file is a .blend file and I have attached my starting texture files. I already have the .dds and normal map plugins for Gimp. I have already converted the texture into a .dds file. Thank you for your time and assistance.
