Ok, I think I may have some insight into this problem. Ive been playing with the Agaceph custom race and noticed something, my race never actually switched to argonianracevampireblue. Tried it through sanguinare Vampriris AND through lord harkon. So, I manually set my race to the vampire custom race before entering Castle Volkihar and did not have the bug right after the training. It was kind of deceiving because I would still have all the abilities/effects of a vampire, I just wouldn't be a vampire. The only thing that clued me in was my character never got the fang texture, unless I used setrace. So with this particular custom race I think the problem is occurring during the events that turn you into a vampire; I'm thinking its just modifying the custom non-vamp race instead of switching races. It lookes like thats whats happening to the Ashen race from what I've read on here as well. Has anyone else noticed this on different custom races? @ Evilpancake I'm going to guess the default skin tone (the first one on the slider) on your race is darker, and if I'm not mistaken the setrace command resets the skintone value to whatever that is. Quick question, would it be possible to just edit revert form to make you X race upon activation?

New races may encounter a problem trying to join the vampires where they are not considered a vampire even after getting vampire lord form. happened to my Agaceph. Also I don't know which mod it is, if its a mod, but both my Agaceph and Nord automatically refuse Harkons gift. Then again my Caribou are also pissed off in vanilla so I might just have to do a complete re-install (oh joy). (To clarify I did get the chance to accept it once and thats when the whole your not a vampire thing came about but every time after that I automatically refuse)

I noticed people saying stuff about alt tab and i suspect this will also help OP. Ive had the same issue and ive found if i click the skyrim program to go back instead of alt tabbing it solves the issue. (I dont know about you guys but i have to alt tab to skyrim twice if i tab away from it, so clicking on skyrim then tabbing to it has in my experience lowered the chance of the dual cursor problem)

I tested the setessential command and it worked, they are no longer immortal, just angry. but i can deal with that. Im sure I can eventually set them all back and change their behavior through the console as well. My only question is does it save that setting for that character permanently or will i have to enter that ever time i load one of the afflicted files? And does any1 have any advice on how to get the mounted combat animations back?

Ok, so i uninstalled all mods and still had the issue. thought now all 3 of the characters deer are immortal. meanwhile the character i started after this glitch still has no problems. So as for the deer I'm going to go out on a limb and say all of those saves somehow got corrupted at once in the same way. maybe when I uninstalled a mod or applied the patch or something. Are there any console commands i can try to fix this? As for the whole mounted combat thing I'm pretty sure its not a mod issue, it only happened after I verified the local game cache through steam to try and see if i had anything corrupt or not while trying to fix the deer problem the first time around. So I still don't know what the best course of action would be to try and fix that.

but for it to occur on all 3? and its not just on horseback, it happened to my nord who has never ridden a horse. And it happened to all 3 at the same time, as in it occured on one character then i checked the other 2 and they had the problem. and why cant my nord or argonian kill them yet my khajiit can? and its just the caribou? i thought maybe a faction glitch too but its just that one race, and they have ridiculous health. it takes like 10 swings with a great sword to kill them. ive looked in creation kit and noticed there is no male deer of this type anymore only female, shouldnt there be both? im so confused.

So...my deer are pissed at 3/4 of my characters. they are also immortal on 2/4 characters. its only the caribou looking ones. after this bug started i made a new character who has no issues. i also reloaded an old save on one of my 3 old ones and had no issues. I'm at a complete loss. Also as you can see my mounted combat animations are now gone, this started when i verified the local game cache through steam to try and figure out why rudolfs nose is red...with blood. Ive tried it without mods and had mixed results. (for instance i thought i found the cause of the immortal aspect of my deer but i guess i was wrong and it wasnt a mod) i uninstalled and reinstalled every mod and could at least kill my deer on all characters (for awhile). As far as the mounted combat goes i havent tried it on a non beast race race but id imagine ill have the same results (going to go check now if i dont update this post it means men/mer are broke as well). Ive also tried deleting skyrim and re-downloading it from steam. really hope someone can help. If not maybe you guys can at least get a kick out of some screen shots of rabid immortal deer. (oh P.S. by immortal i mean i cant even kill them with the console kill command they just go completely unresponsive for ~10 seconds then come at me again almost like they are essential and just in a regen health phase)

Found a different thread with similar problem. Solution was to turn off adaptive multi sample anti aliasing and change it to multi sample anti aliasing in 3d settings on the graphics card. Sorry for the useless thread. Please ignore this unless you had the same problem, in which case im happy if i helped.

Ok, this happens randomly on Khajiit male or female and 100% of the time on shadowmere, with or without mods installed. Whats going on and how do i fix it? Top left regular Khajiit face, top right Khajiit face when the bug occurs, bottom is how my shadowmere looks all the time. Ive also tried installing a mod that changes how shadowmere looks and it wont work.
