  1. A quick question for those who have access to the actaul texture files for the game; what colour are his eyes? Promotional art is unclear, screenshots seem to change colour and the two Wiki pages disagree. This is for some artwork I'm making :) Thank you!
  2. Thank you for your reply! Are there any drawbacks to using that method? I want to modify a hair mesh and eye meshes, is there anything I need to know regarding that?
  3. I'm dying of thirst in an ocean of imported nifs that apparently work for most, but not for myself. I really want to learn how to modify meshes in Blender. I've used Blender before, and am prepared to have some fun with making new hairs, new eyes and even some secret projects to make Argonians a lot cooler. Unfortunately... I can't import a single .Nif! I went through the process of downloading and installing all of the old files as most tutorials asked (ones made back in practically the stone age) but they didn't work out because the original Niftools download page had disappeared. Now, after two days of trying that out and a couple of heat-on-the-brain headaches, I'm attempting to use Blender 2.7+ with the proper .Nif tools added in from Github. My mind is about five seconds from heat death, so I won't explain how many tutorials I went through to figure out how to do that. But I still can't import a thing. Please help, anyone? Here's a screenshot of the error I get when trying to import: And if I delete the BSLightingShaderProperty:
  4. So I've been putting a new body texture on parts of an Argonian, since that seems the only way to retexture a follower... using the Armoraddon and whatnot to try and make it work. Problem is, I get lots of errors with it. Here's an example: FemaleHeadArgonian.nif : FemaleHeadArgonian is missing a facegen tint map FemaleHeadArgonian.nif : FemaleHeadArgonian is missing a facegen detail map CLONE Sings-In-The-Dark\Singsfemaleheadargonian.nif : FemaleHeadArgonian is missing a normal map CLONE Sings-In-The-Dark\Singsfemaleheadargonian.nif : FemaleHeadArgonian is missing a soft lighting map CLONE Sings-In-The-Dark\Singsfemaleheadargonian.nif : FemaleHeadArgonian is missing a specular map CLONE Sings-In-The-Dark\Singsfemaleheadargonian.nif : FemaleHeadArgonian is missing a skin sub surface tint map CLONE Sings-In-The-Dark\Singsfemaleheadargonian.nif : FemaleHeadArgonian is missing a facegen tint map CLONE Sings-In-The-Dark\Singsfemaleheadargonian.nif : FemaleHeadArgonian is missing a facegen detail map CLONE Sings-In-The-Dark\Singsfemaleheadargonian.nif : FemaleHeadArgonian is missing a normal map CLONE Sings-In-The-Dark\Singsfemaleheadargonian.nif : FemaleHeadArgonian is missing a soft lighting map CLONE Sings-In-The-Dark\Singsfemaleheadargonian.nif : FemaleHeadArgonian is missing a specular map CLONE Sings-In-The-Dark\Singsfemaleheadargonian.nif : FemaleHeadArgonian is missing a skin sub surface tint map CLONE Sings-In-The-Dark\Singsfemaleheadargonian.nif : FemaleHeadArgonian is missing a facegen tint map CLONE Sings-In-The-Dark\Singsfemaleheadargonian.nif : FemaleHeadArgonian is missing a facegen detail map FemaleHeadArgonian.nif : FemaleHeadArgonian is missing a facegen tint map FemaleHeadArgonian.nif : FemaleHeadArgonian is missing a facegen detail map And when I open up the preview for my new race, only her head appears, not the rest of her body... and her head flickers weirdly, and is kind of purple. Anyone know what I can do here? Thanks a bunch.
  5. Hi! I'm having some trouble figuring out how to make a really cool Follower mod, and I'm hoping to find some good advice here. I use Blender to make models, and I want to do these things: 1. Make a Follower mod 2. Have that Follower be an Argonian 3. Modify the original mesh of that Follower using Blender - Add new eyes - Add new hair/horns - Add new brow - Modify skin colour (texture) The meshes I want to change are the eyes and the hair/horns. I also want to modify the face a little and the brows, but I'm happy to leave those for later, until the other things are sorted out. This is my first attempt at modding, and most of the tutorials I've seen are fairly old or don't describe exactly what I want to do. I would really appreciate a step-by-step explanation of how to do all of this; so far, I've created a custom race with the CK, as I've heard that that's the only way to make a custom mesh for a Follower. I hope I've explained myself clearly here, as my mind is starting to melt a little with trying to figure out what to do! Extra explanation on what various file names mean would be extra helpful. I've extracted the .nif files for female Argonian, and am now staring at 'eyesfemaleright' and 'eyesfemaleleft'. Do I... need to combine these somehow? Also, can I make the hair mesh asymmetrical? I want there to be one horn on one side, and a broken-off stub on the other. Thanks a bunch!
  6. Right now when dragons breathe fire or ice, it's done in a single cone and all at once. Unlike normal spells, which charge, begin and then 'shoot' as a ranged attack (which looks far more realistic) dragons just activate coneface and whatever they breathe appears, instead of shooting realistically. While perhaps not as powerful-looking, having the option for dragonfire to spill out and billow on the ground on contact would be a really gorgeous one!
  7. When I have Horses Revamped installed, it causes an 'animations' folder to appear in the meshes/actor/horse folder. I've been using this folder to replace the run with the sprint animations and vice versa, allowing for filming of the sprinting animation from the side, which is impossible normally. I want to know if someone could make a mod which forces the 'animations' folder to exist without Horses Revamped modifying the animations themselves or the meshes.
  8. Is it possible to place a camera somewhere high up in the sky and make it static, then move your character around below it with a bird's-eye-view of the action?
  9. Is there a way to attach the camera to an animal, like an eagle or a slaughterfish? I have the feeling it would make for some pretty cinematic shots :)
  10. Thanks for the response- after looking for the mod, I found it on another website, but I don't see any texture options. I might try to download it and see if it has the 'hair' options in it somewhere already.
  11. Thanks for replying; I found some mods that let my character and some followers sit in the carriage, so I can probably use that for my purposes instead. (Touring Carriages and/or ScenicCarriages)
  12. I'm thinking of something like a large ruff of hair that goes from the back of the neck to the small of the back. It could also reach around in a collar of hair around the neck and ending just above the chest. If it was equippable, that'd be great, too. The reason for this suggestion is because I'd like to film or take screenshots of a male character in the middle of a werewolf transformation, and after looking around, I couldn't find any mods to make the character hairier in a noticeable way. More facial hair and hair on the arms or legs would be cool, too :D
  13. Is there a way to have NPCs use a carriage, such as a command or a mod? I'm wondering if I can have a few random NPCs use it to go from one place to another, along with a specific character, for filming purposes.
  14. Might just be from my own Blender experience, which was a nightmare.
  15. Believe me, a snake animation would be an enormous headache to make.
