  1. So I have been working on a total texture conversion mod in which I replace most of the game's textures with a simple digital circuitboard pattern. The aim being to make the game seem as though it's in some sort of simulation akin to the Matrix or more closer probably to Tron. First of all, I'm curious what people's general thoughts are on this? I kinda doubt many people would play with something like that, but I would personally in fact I would like it more than vanilla oblivion and that's why I am doing it. But of course if I happen to finish it, it wouldn't hurt to upload it. Currently, it's got about the texture quality of vanilla. Maybe a bit less or more in some areas. My main thing was to make something that wouldn't injure performance at all, and in this case because I give a f*** not for mipmaps, the performance should only increase as is. I literally am just replacing the vanilla mipmaps with a tiny wittle thing. I don't really need them in a plastic-like digital world. Although I if it got enough attention, I wouldn't mind doing something higher quality, but as it stands my computer couldn't make use of it without performance suffering majorly. So I'm not likely to do such a thing unless a notable amount of people would want it. Here you can see some screenshots of what I've got so far: http://s1345.photobucket.com/user/IronicParticle/library/Samples?sort=3&page=1 I've also tried to color code things based on certain things. For instance, ground and nature is mostly red with a major exception being snow. Where the pattern is black on white. I forgot to take a picture of that. Anyways, civilization and Law are associated with black. With armor Red is low tier, blue is middle tier, purple is high tier. Legion and gaurd armor is black. With clothes, low class is green, middle class is blue, high class is purple. Harmless animals and low tier creatures are green, mid tier are blue, high tier are purple. So on and so forth. Basically I wanted it to seem like you could look at someone and KNOW how strong they are in comparison to you, etc. Generally at least. Anyways, I would also like if people suggest ideas to expand upon this and whatnot.
  2. Oh come on how does nobody know this?
  3. Some of them already exist on the nexus already. I can't be bothered to find a link to them, just google man it's not that hard. I plan to make a troll race, there already is one but it's not the best it's just a dremora texture replacer lmao
  4. How does one change the water color? I'm making a texture replacement mod that makes everything digital sorta. But I need to change the color of the water which doesn't seem to be affected by textures?
  5. I remember there being a mod that I believe was Elves of Lineage II but with a green and red variant of elf in it. But I've searched through the race category and can't find it... I have no clue what's up with that, but does anyone know where I can find it? Or maybe someone has it and can share it? Any help would be appreciated.
  6. Great now suddenly third person is stuttering :wallbash:
  7. Normally it's not, before saying that I too thought it was impossible. So I did a google search, and there is "cracked" versions of the updates that also work with retail. So I went that route. But again it didn't work, so I just uninstalled again and updated through steam. So now I'm back where I was before trying to see if that would work.
  8. I'm going to uninstall and update to the update from before 1.9 to see if the problem occurs.
  9. That didn't sound stupid, a suggestion is a suggestion. Why would it effect new games? Besides this latest playthrough I'm a light armored mage with no followers, she still has the problem when she has loads of room. Taking up about 101 out of 300 weight.
  10. That is under the tweaks tab, so I cant see how you have it set. I was also considering a few other possibilities, which are under your tweaks tab. You might check to make sure you have all the cores checked under CPU affinity, that you are not forcing crossfire, that you are running high priority. Other than that, I can only suggest trying to uncheck all of the AA-related options (though if it is set to use application mode, it seems that would be sufficient), and maybe uncheck the force triple buffering, though that should not have an effect on the game since its not opengl. Tried it, it didn't work. Seems you've done all you could, and seems I'll be hoping a future driver update fixes it for me.
  11. It'd help if you could tell me what could possibly be the problem. Here: http://oi46.tinypic.com/jimhqb.jpg and http://oi50.tinypic.com/6xx3c6.jpg On the first one, 1 of the options got cut off. It was Anti-Aliasing and I have it set to "Use application settings".
  12. Random fact, not like it will change anything but it only happens in first person...
  13. You know what annoys me more than this micro stutter though? Is the recommendation to used borderless window in like literally every google search result. I've been using it and it does not get rid of my stutter. It annoys me because everyone is so content with that answer. But alas I'm just being bitter because NOTHING works.
  14. Problem is 13.1 is the one i have stutters on. Though you've verified that ATI Drivers are random and based on rigs on whether or not they cause a stutter. As I said, someone said they've had stutters on and off as they updated their drivers over time. I still can't get rid of it. I've tried: Different drivers. Changing profiles and configurations. Changing INI files, regenerating them, etc. Lower resolution to the lowest possible and lower distance sliders completely to see if it was performance related. Enabled, and Disabled Vsync both in game and in the Drivers. Disabled mods, and started a new game. Capped FPS, as well Vysnc and capped FPS at the same time. Windowed mode. Anything else? No? Ok then, I'm stuck with a stutter I shouldn't be having.
  15. I get that, and when I said it was seemingly irrelevant I was referring to the fact that no matter how much performance I squeeze out it's still there. Unless I went with the lowest of the low settings, which would officially make this computer worse than my older one that has way worse specs.... I've tried a different driver that finally didn't crash every game on my computer and it's STILL there. It's like no matter what I do, I'm going to have a stutter FOREVER despite it NEVER being there before. I also tried to do what you did ripple and ended up getting a blue screen, besides I play on an HDTV and so I need the CCC... Thanks for the help though guys.
  16. I actually downloaded RaedonPro when you mentioned it before, I already tried capping it to 30fps and 60fps which didn't work. I just now tried 58fps and it doesn't work. I found someone through google who said it was a bit normal for them and that the microstutter comes and goes with different driver updates. I'm going to try and go through more older versions...
  17. Why would that mod do that? I do have UFO... But I have a habit of deleting a save and then making a new save, meaning I've effectively got it in all my saves if you are on to something. I'll try starting a new game with no mods. Edit: Ok so I tried disabling all mods, removing the textures and meshes folder, and then starting a new game on top of those. The stutter was still there.
  18. Bad enough to make aiming a bow unpleasant. I don't know if it's a performance thing. Turning down settings helps, but it's still there even when I lower them enough to get 60FPS at all times. As well I've never had it till recently. Also, it's mainly noticeable in 1st person view. Which is why it's a killer for my experience because I aim a bow in first person only. The weird fact about this is, first person should be rendering less and therefore actually better on performance than 3rd person. Though turning off AF seems to have a big impact on lowering it. Which kind of tells me, it's something to do with textures. But it could just be that completely disabling AF makes theworld of difference in performance.... even if for some reason, performance seems a bit irrelevant -_-
  19. So I went ahead and tried the clean install with 2 different drivers. That stopped the CCC from crashing, but then ALL of my games would crash when I tried to open them. It didn't matter which game. So I reinstalled the 13.1 driver... Unless anyone has any more ideas, I'm stuck with a Microstutter... Thanks Georgiegril for your help.
  20. I am likely having a problem with the latest 13.1 and 13.3 beta drivers, for some reason they cause a microstutter for me. So what are the best drivers, performance wise for Skyrim?
  21. Sorry for triple post, but I've been trying to install an older driver and now CCC is crashing when I try to open it. I've tried 2 different drivers now and have had this issue.
  22. That button is is to create a profile. However I will note something strange, which is that if I try to create a profile for Skyrim it tells me there already is one. I'll take a look into seeing how to view pre-existing profiles. Because I never made a profile, but I do know that AMD makes profiles... especially for newer games and usually includes them in the driver. Edit: Okay, so I tried something to see what would happen. What I did was I created a profile for Skyrim with the settings you see in the screenshot I linked so it would override the pre-defined profile. It didn't completely eliminate the stutter, however I saw a drastic improvement. Which tells me, it is in fact something driver related. Edit again: Anyone recommend a particular driver so I can try and see if my problem gets resolved?
  23. Well actually, I've used the Skyrim performance monitor and I never go above 50-60% CPU usage. I do however end up using 100% of my GPU. But it's probably because of the lack of shadows for me. I tried ATTK but I think it made things worse if I recall, and IMO Hialgo is not worth it. There is a misconception around lowering the quality when you move your view, where people think that you don't normally see the quality of the game when moving anyways. You in fact can see the beauty of skyrim when moving the camera, you just don't normally focus on it when you are in fights and whatnot. Don't get me wrong, before I had the computer I have now, I used it on my older computer to help it get extra performance and so it is a must for lower range computers and I praise it. But it is not worth it when you already know that you can run things fine, like me, I shouldn't be having this stutter.
