  1. I'm trying to play as a Dunmer and I'm finding it absurdly difficult from an RP perspective, perhaps that's because I don't know enough, but. . Firstly, there's the matter of being Dragonborn. Have there ever been any non-human Dragonborn? Or any non-humans that even have the ability to use 'The Voice'? I can't think of any in Skyrim at all. It's annoying that all the Greybeards are human. Is The Voice referenced in any previous games? It just makes me feel so odd thinking I'd be the first and only dark elf to be born like that. Being essentially the re-incarnation of Talon 'n' all, the man God. Although I've heard somewhere that the Nerevarine was supposedly a Dragonborn too - is that true? Secondly, the Civil War! From my perspective, I prefer the stormcloaks (purely aesthetic reasons, blue and wolves :D ) - but why on earth would a Dunmer choose to join those who're explicitly racist towards them? Just look at Windhelm! However, why would they want to join the Legion either? In Morrowind there was a distinct anti-imperial feel, it just feels very wrong. apologies if these are dumb questions, I've tried reading as much information as possible, but I'm still stuck in my mind >.<
  2. God darnit, I can't express my gratitude! A quick response too! I thought I'd have to be editing files and things all night, but nope just a console command =D Thank you, so much! :)
  3. Hey guys, quick question.. Is there some way I can make a Nord character, but use a Breton appearance? Hope that makes sense :S I just want to make a Nord character but can't seem to make an even half-attractive one using the sliders. The Bretons on the other hand all look awesome! So is there a way I can play as a nord, whilst looking like a breton? obviously I wouldn't want this to effect every npc in the game, I'm hoping there's a way to do it for just me. I was thinking I could just make a Breton and then use the console to add/remove the specific race abilities - but people would still say 'Hey Breton' as opposed to 'Hey Nord' So I've no clue where to start really, any information would be massively appreciated! =)
  4. I'm not at all bothered by the body style, more how.. mm.. don't know how to describe it, how 'severe' the elves faces look. Almost haggish. I don't really know what it is about them, maybe it's just me =S but thank you for the recommendation anyway, I will check it out
  5. haven't seen that one yet, looking at it briefly it looks pretty amazing - I'll give it a try now! Thanks for the speedy reply
  6. Mm ok, basically, I desperately want to make a Dark Elf, I love their lore and history buuuuut I just.. don't like how the elves look in Skyrim, or I do, just not half as much as any of the other races, which makes them a little difficult to play as. So are there any mods out there which, mm, makes the Elven faces a little prettier? If not for all elves then just for my character? I have already downloaded the fantastic no ridges/wrinkles mod, however it's still not quite doing it for me. I've tried browsing around but I just can't find anything which seems up my street. So I'm asking here :) It's annoying me a little how my Dark Elf in Morrowind, with one of Rhedd's faces, is vastly prettier than anything I can come close to making in Skyrim :verymad: Any help would be hugely appreciated! Thanks for reading = )
  7. Ah you guys are amazing, exactly what I was looking for - thank you very much!
  8. Hi there, I've recently spent forever doing all of the thieves guild radiant quests. But now I've started a new character I frankly can't be bothered to do them all again, and there are SO many  Is there a way I can use the console to complete them automatically? The quests I'm referring to are the 'Sweep, Burglary, Heist etc' jobs that you have to repeat countlessly in order to do the unique city quests. I hope I posted this in the right forum, any help would be massively appreciated - thank you
  9. I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong, but when I enchant an item and then re-name it, the new name appears in all capital letters. It doesn't matter if I type 'Axe of Death' - as soon as I hit enter it changes to 'AXE OF DEATH'. I absolutely hate it! Am I missing something really obvious? If not, is there a mod out there that just enables lower-case for the enchants? >.< Any info would be really appreciated, it's been bugging me for ages
  10. Hello there =) I'm new to posting on forums and I'm really sorry if I'm writing irrelevant information or this is long winded, but I've spent three days solid now trying to fix this and it's just driving me nuts. The problem is sort of hard to explain, but I'll do my best. Firstly, there are no shadows whatsoever in game, neither is there mist or fog. However what's more, whenever I move, large shadows constantly flicker across the screen - as if a massive cloud had gone overhead for a second. Sometimes when I'm stationary I'll be under one of these 'clouds' - and then I move and it will flicker again. The problem has started since I downloaded the latest patch; before then I was able to run Skyrim absolutely fine, with the graphics settings all on full, shadows looking beautiful and everything. I was not running any mods at all. The first thing I tried to do was update my graphics drivers, that didn't help. I then did a fresh installation of skyrim, not from a backup. I have tried playing on all of the graphics settings (low, medium, high and ultra), with all the different options ticked on or off. I tried turning Crossfire off, that didn't help. I've spent today restoring my PC to it's factory settings. It's now a completely fresh PC and everything's clean, haven't downloaded anything apart from the essential updates. Still the same problem with Skyrim though, which has what's prompted me to write this. My SkyrimPrefs.ini is obviously untampered with now from the fresh installation. However I found that if I set everything with the word 'shadow' in it to =0, it fixes the 'cloud shadow' problem - although obviously there are still no shadows at all, which is just rubbish. I have tried adding 'bShadowsOnGrass=0' to the skyrimprefs but that hasn't helped either. And lastly I would have attatched a screen shot of the problem, but the problem is sort of hard to capture as it doesn't look particularly odd if I'm stationary (just sometimes I'm under a lot of shadow.) I'm playing on a Dell XPS 420, 3G RAM, intel core 2 quad CPU 2.4ghz, 32-bit operating system and my graphics card is an ATI Radeon 3870 X2, I downloaded the latest graphics drivers for it from Dell. If someone has any idea of what I might do to try and fix this it would be so massively appreciated, I'm more than happy to give any more information on anything - thank you for reading. Uncumber.
  11. Hey guys - firstly I've been using Nexus for various games for ages, and this is an absolutely incredible site =) but basically I've been looking everywhere for a mod that allows you to play as a vampire whilst keeping your original appearance.. so no eye colour change or paler skin or skinnier face. However I can't find one anywhere, I'm sort of assuming there must be one around somewhere so if anyone could point me in the right direction that'd be hugely appreciated. Literally I'm happy with everything else in Skyrim's vampirism - I just don't want my appearance to change when I contract it. If there's really not one out there I'd be more than willing to try to put in the effort to make the mod myself, but I've virtually no experience of modding so far and I'd have really no clue where to start - so if anyone knows how to do it and wouldn't mind putting a little time aside to give me an idea of what to do - that'd also be amazing =) thanks very much for your time!
