I'm interested in world bosses. Something to break away from the typical mods that just update or add standard Skyrim creatures. My thoughts are to add simply overpowered and physically MASSIVE creatures. Even add unique lore behind them if desired. World bosses are typically found in MMO. They are large creatures that travel the world waiting for a foe to die beneath their crushing forces. I would love to participate in making this thought come to life. However, with college time constraints and my main focus being C++/Python I'm not sure what I can do to help create new creatures. My graphical abilities are weak. Here are some thoughts... This is all just brainstorming I'm not very familiar with current lore. I'm also not familiar of the actual limitations of skyrim modding. Let's hope my thoughts are not too far off :). Any abilities listed can obviously be changed I'm just thinking here. We could even add a unique Storyline: This all starts with a Wizard mad with experimenting on dragons and the creatures of Skyrim. Eventually he started created very new creatures. This Dragon captured and tormented and experimented on by the wizard. This dragon not only lost it's ability to fly. But, it's Dovahkiin voice was also twisted. Cast out from his Dragon pack he walked the land screaming his twisted voice. The voice that killed the living and brought back the dead. Voice power: summon a non-corporeal ethereal type creature that kills anything it touches. Creature moves slowly. However, must be defeated as it shrouds the dragon in a barrier that greatly inflicts upon any that attack the dragon. Any that die will be resurrected to fight with this dragon for eternity. Dragon size 1.5 compared to any other dragon. Strength obviously greater physically and spell related, with weakness to Dovahkiin voice. Options: Instead inflict upon the shadows around the dragon. Anything that steps into the darkness takes X damage over X time with high death chance. Shroud remains the same, but with other death risen creatures. A dragon that was experimented on at birth. But, not just any birth. The mother of this dragon was also twisted with experiments. However, this baby dragon grew very fast and also very large. Size compared to normal dragons 7.5+ (no I'm not kidding. He's HUGE) power(s): Enrage: turns dragon into a dark red rage (effectively changing skin color). Causing his blows to do twice the damage. However, also drains his stamina greatly. Unable to use other abilities while active, limited to melee combat. Only active if his mother is killed before him. Voice Power: To be continued (something powerful, worthy of making him enrage. But, not always) The mother: A mother dragon of 3. All of whom you may get to meet. This mother dragon was pregnant during the time the Wizard got hold of her. While he was ignorant at first the wizard quickly realized what he had created. A dragon that was changed. But, some think it was not for the bad. This dragon has no ability to fight directly. She has no wings as they were damaged in a fight to save her children . But, instead uses the minds of her enemies. While being toyed with she managed to get into the wizards potion satchel. She consumed every potion. While altering her physical appearance beyond imagination for a dragon. She became quite unique in mind. A very potent creature. Powers: mind control Mind control: control any being within range. Including the player. The player will need to collect a unique item made by the wizard to have some immunity. As even with an item he will still have moments of time where he will be incapable of fighting back. Can control up to 5. Will never control more than 2 player/follower combination. That means yourself and a follower or 2 followers. Smart controlling. If she's severely damaged and a healer is in the group, she will take control of that healer. More to come...

I use SUM and run AV and Asis. That is all fine and works from what I can tell. AFT seems to be working more thorough for my followers. Though Ceri still doesn't like to heal me properly. Might be because her spells are not being updated(?)
-
I added this. I didn't at first add them to the blocklist and it seemed to do nothing. Adding them to the blocklist also did not seem to change anything. I'm using EFF for now. It seems Cerwiden the smart healer is extremely weak compared to Sofia the funny. Also, only cerwiden and a few other custom followers are even working with EFF. Oddly it seems these are the very followers that may be having issues or are seeming weak. I don't really want the followers to be super strong. But, the wide difference I'm noticing in them seems wrong. I'm not sure if EFF is just having compatibility issues or what. But, I'll probably be getting rid of it to find out. Suppose I can try AFT. But, I'm really not eager switching a follower overhaul mod like this.

I'm trying to find out if any of them work or can be fixed to work with requiem. I have to assume since they're all setup for vanilla perks. So, what can be done to patch them for Requiem. I enjoy having some of my followers around to make the game more entertaining. Especially the funny ones like Throthgar. Hopefully it doesn't involve CK. Still learning how to use that annoying software. Edit: also Become King of Riverhelm. This mod seems extremely buggy as is. I'm sure it has issues with Requiem. Any patches out? I've not found anything yet. I really enjoy that Riverhelm mod too..
-
From my experiment sadly I got CTD a lot with Skytweaks installed. I suppose I need to stablize everything first with requiem. I found several of my armor mods causing issues. UGH! I loved some of those armors. Especially the bad ass lich king set. Thankfully I don't need any heavy armors right now. Going archer/ranger for my next character.
-
So, far things are working in order. I suppose I can find a weapon editor to help balance certain stuff as I go. Does this work at all? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25794/ http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/33395/? Also found skytweak
-
Edit: spent only an hour fixing my current stuff to adjust into requiem. It works well. Still not sure how it'll work with the gear from the other mods below. IE the Lichking gear. I'd like to see that gear working effectively and be as powerful as it should. I'm surprised I'm not running into more issues. I may sooner or later. Only fought a small group of things to see how it will play out. What I'm most happy about is my "clean" papyrus logs!! Took a bit to get to. But, yay! I'm putting together a Requiem load if you'd like to give advice. Here is my LOOT load order. I'm curious what will come up incompatible? Excluding the obvious Asis, SkyRe, duel combat. Let me know. My big thing for Skyrim is being able to utilize lots of armor mods. I don't know why. But, I love having the diversity of armors. Also, I will start reading the documents tomorrow. But, to be sure with requiem can I edit armor/weapons to my taste? If I have an armor mod or something that has a quest line and is considered high tier armor. Requiem is said to edit it on it's own? Can I change values of these mods? Ignore the errors, I'm in the middle of removing mods. I noticed I have a lot of patches to get -_-. Will I have to patch all armor/weapon mods? As I'm sure man don't have a patch available. I'VE ABOUT had it with reproccer. Someone help me fix this damn crap. I've solved at least 20 bugs today because this thing is so god damn instable. This Reproccer software is a complete Fing joke. Literally since installed nothing but errors and issues left and right. I'm getting about done with that piece of garbage. I get the feeling a big part for reason that SkyRE isn't ever balanced is armor mods and things of that nature. IT's clear to me just how bad reproccer is as software. I mean this thing bugs out on every other armor mod I have, let alone the other random issues that come up. That's the worst part. How random some of these bugs are. I'm about to switch to requiem just so I don't have to deal with this garbage. Guess I should wait for the combat stuff. Looks like there's a few new ones coming.

SSD greatly improves responsiveness for skyrim modding. You would truly be amazed. I went from sometimes 8 minute load screens to not even a second. When I'm on my horse sprinting before it would lag horrible, does not at all anymore. Honestly right now you can buy a 250GB SSD for $140. The Samsung 840 evo has dropped considerably. So, if you use many script or texture/mesh mods you definitely will gain from an SSD. My next system will have 2 1TB SSD and a PCIE SSD for OS. No more worries about storage. MO needs a fresh Skyrim install. You really cannot use it with an install that has mods. It has issues if you do. The idea of control makes sense. I don't do manual lol. Gives me a headache. Plus, I'd forget over time what is what if I tried to handle manual install, lol.
-
I'm not worried about the combat mod thing too much now. I'll be content with my current combination. As for MO. It is a lot more than that. It creates an emulated data folder for Skyrim all mods are stored and run through it instead of default skyrim folder. All you have to do is take the time to really learn how to use MO. Here is a guide to what helped me get started. http://wiki.step-project.com/User:Neovalen/Skyrim_Revisited_-_Legendary_Edition#Configure_Mod_Organizer_.28Part_2.29 That guide was a HUGE help. I assure you man. MO is definitely an amazing piece. You can have unlimited number of differently modded "skyrim" basically without having to have several different folders of skyrim. I love it mostly for saving space and time on my SSD. Also, if you need help I've come across and solved every error so far. It is a lot easier once you understand how MO itself works. I cannot recommend it enough. Never having to worry about cleaning up Skyrim. Everything is emulated by MO. Nothing touches your skyrim folder other than SKSE and mods from workshop. But, now for my current issue is animation mods from an external site. I'm not sure I'm allowed to post them as they are adult content, lol.
-
I'll keep digging into the combat mod choices. I'll have to test them each to really find what I like. That's why i LOVE MO. You take the time to learn it. You can do Anything. I just made reproccer use LOOT from within MO. Why? Because it's awesome. With MO I can have different profiles with different sets of mods. Not conflicting each other and perfect for testing. It saves me the trouble of having a cluttered game and having to re install if I screw something up. With my SSD It works soo smoothly too. Req and SkyRE can work together. I found a forum of someone who did it. But, I'll have to dig into my bookmarks for the link. For now I am testing... SkyRE, Duel- combat realism HC, Asis, Dodge mod, DW parry, Immersive patrols, Civil war overhaul, Dragon combat overhaul, deadly dragons, and more to come... I'm looking into armor and weapon mods while doing this as well.

As far as the hardware goes. I won't even see the socket version of Broadwell right away. I'm not that worried. Also, Broadwell is supposed to have DDR3 compatibility and (Skylake?) that which comes after it has DDR4 CONSUMER LEVEL (server models will likely have the new ram first). I'm most interested in broadwell because they are making an effort to change the stuff that may have reduced Haswells overclocking functionality. They think the voltage regulator was causing it and are moving that back to motherboards. I'm not interested in anything current right now. My i5 is plenty. My next upgrade will be a 6 or 8 core and the cost will be worth it to me. Being able to stream (games) to any computer in my home. Yeah, definitely. Then I can let others play some games and not have to worry about them on my expensive computer. The computer I'm building will cost around $4,000. I've already picked out models and have an idea of each parts cost. There are thousands of rumors surrounding Maxwell series GPU. The reason I'm getting one of those is for the higher Vram. They're supposed to be the big supporting GPU for 4k resolutions whith 6-12GB of Vram. I'd expect no less either given how long 4k has been out. Also, I'm just all around more interested in being patient to see them arrive. But, everyone expects Maxwell to be big on pure power level. I do not. I know Maxwell has the goal to consume less power. So, it's power upgrade won't be nearly what everyone expects. However, down the line the new architecture will open some doors for more raw power and less consumed power.
-
I can use Wrye bash within MO and I do. I also have LOOT. But, I don't use it as it has screwed up my load order when I did. For now Boss is working for me for the most part. I'll switch out ASIS for Reqiuem and SkyRE. With enough tweaking on both of those mods. I cannot imagine a reason for me to not have the balanced and fun combat. I've got a lot of time until I'll really be playing much. Right now is mostly tweak time. I'd like to have fun with the game. I'm not in any means a hardcore combat person. I want to do my quests with some sense of realism to the combat and the creatures AI. I don't want things to be too easy or too hard. But, right there in that middle point. So, I can have fun. If I crave a real challenge I can adjust for that.
-
So, far I'm going to test with SkyRe with ASIS on top and using BYOG for further personal adjustments. I read requiem would be a bit over the top hardcore. I think SkyRE covers the un-leveling feature making certain areas harder. This will definitely help a lot. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37216/? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37216/? I found using these 2 would give me features similar to Warzone unrest. Which was a nice mod just very buggy. Will http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32597/? and my other combat mods all work together? I'm still trying to figure how to get Automatic variants to work in MO. It's being a pain. Looking for Follower mods now as well that work with custom followers. Looking at either EFF or AFT. Probably going with EFF. Anyone have experience using Reproccer and Sum within MO? Rig: i5-2500k Oc'd 4.8Ghz 8GB 18600mhz CAS 7 GTX 560 Ti Samsung 840 Pro Evo I'm upgrading into a 6 or 8 core (more cores in prep for steam streaming) Broadwell with a GTX 880 when they arrive. For now I'm testing and tweaking don't expect great performance. As most of this I expect to put together fresh when I get the new stuff. Almost another year though -_- I am considering adding in both of those combat mods as well: Ultimate Combat and Duel - Combat Realism. I'll start the tweaking process soon hopefully find the sweet spot. If anyone has already done this I'd loveee some input or recommended tweaks!

Edit: I've found a selection of mods and will work putting them in here. I'd like to know if these mods are fully compatible. More so double checking then anything. I'm trying to balance the combat. I cannot remember every mod I've tried, it has been several months since I've played. I'm in preparation for broadwell and maxwell. I'm working to create a base game to go with. I've got most of my mods picked out and setup nicely. My current goal now is to find the selection of mods to balance combat (and the world) and make it feel more realistic. I want dragons to be scary and have more challenge than just one shot fires and a lot of HP (what most mods seem to do). I want NPC to be more dangerous in numbers, but far less on their own. I'm Dragonborn with unique, rare, and powerful gear there is no reason for a mere city guard to be able to kill me. I don't care what they are wielding. Obviously higher ranking NPC should be more dangerous. So, obviously I need to find that which creates balance in power and defenses. Then I need to find that which creates realism, challenge, and balance in the combat itself. If you've got any ideas I am interested. I'd even love a set of mods that will allow me to tweak each item specifically to set things up for this balance. However, obviously such a mod would require a lot of tweaking and it would be great for any suggested tweaks you have applied. Edit: I love putting together an army of follows and taking over a city as my own. Mods that support this creation of an army and taking over a city would be great. Perhaps a modded version of the city take over quest? Where I can actually prepare for and fight a city with a true and tried army? Even go around hiring people to be a part of the army. Coming up with the required gold for the equipment and mechanics. I'd be surprised if Something like this didn't exist by now. I'm sure everyone would love a mod on such a huge scale for war. Something that has a huge level of replay-ability. Based on the gold you spend. (more gold spent increases the difficulty, obviously the rich will be fighting a very large army. Don't mistake though your army will too be a force for reckoning.) Obviously I don't expect that specific. But, the idea behind it. Starting to put my own personal ideas into that lol.

MO isn't cooperating with BUM, Boss needs an update?

Thank you sir. I'll be going over and working on this later this evening. -
I'm getting that "Invalid masterlist detected for Skyrim" bug. Only happens if I run inside MO. Otherwise it works fine. This only happened recently. I just started updating my mods preparing for my new GPU (my sexy Titan) and within the updates this is one thing that has been bothering me. I wouldn't be too concerned except right now SMIM has a few things that are unrecognized by BOSS. So, I need to make sure they're moved up to where they belong. Boss not recognizing something from a very popular and probably one of the most used mods for visuals makes me think it's in a dire need of some updating? SMIM-DragonbornTernFix.esp ActiveSMIM-DungeonsCliffsIceSkirts.esp ActiveSMIM-FarmhouseFlickeringFix.esp ActiveSMIM-FurnitureChestSnowFix.esp ActiveSMIM-ShackRoofFixes.esp ActiveSMIM-ShackRoofFixesDragonborn.esp ActiveThe unrecognized mods that are included now with SMIM.Other than that if I get help great. If not I'm sure I'll deal with this eventually. Just doing updates for now so I won't be playing anytime soon. That gpu won't be here for another week or so. Edit: Since it seems like both AFT and UFO aren't getting update are there any mods coming about that replaces them? I've been seeing UFO having a lot of issues with custom followers and various other mods I'd like to use.

I actually did find a mod that comes quite close to my ideas. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=116775764 This mod has a lot too it. It's author is still active. However, the mod hasn't seen any updates. Author hasn't been inspired to work on it. I've sent message with my suggestions a long time ago haven't gotten a reply. Hopefully in time I can work with this mod to create my vision.

The Idea: The ultimate mod for real gold making as an adventurer. You’re going to see the world and kill countless enemies. Your treasures are limitless and yet, as are your gold struggles. It's time to hire some merchants and traders. Merchants and traders are hired to sell and trade your treasures throughout all of Skyrim. Merchants, stay at specific locations, while traders can travel abroad. Merchants: are given items to sell, trade, and purchase at given locations. (IE: your Whiterun trader would be given a merchant's stall. Speak to your hired merchant [or whomever you set as your merchant]) give them items to sell. Also, set items you are looking for (Daedra hearts, dragon bones, etc) and your merchant will purchase these items. Collect profits and any items purchased from a chest near your merchant's stall. Traders: traveling Skyrim collecting and trading items. Generating profit and gathering items you desire. Each week they return to a specified location to deliver their items and drop off X% of the gold they've acquired into a chest. Hire protection for your traders keep them from being killed and robbed during travels. Teach them certain types of survival skills to keep them from dying during the harsh winters or colder areas of Skyrim. (Would involve mods such as Climates of tamriel and Frostfall) The more a merchant and trader makes in profit the better they get at their trade. Other ideas: The higher your own speech and smithing skills are the more valuable items are you make when sold or traded by trader/merchants you hire. Other thoughts: Frankly the entire gold structure needs adjusted. I doubt anyone with a carry weight of 200-500, is going to have 50k gold on them or even 5k for that matter. That would be quite heavy. Gold itself should probably have a weight. But, alas. Perhaps as a starting point, create a smart follower designed for trading and selling. Give this follower any items and gold. Each city you go to, speak to the follower to have them go throughout the city to sell or purchase items you need. The option to send them on their own travel path trading, selling, or purchasing items as they travel. Returning to their set home each week to deliver their collected goods into a chest, which is placed by the player via a similar method as how Frostfall has you placing the camp and fires. I'd like to start making my own mod. But, this is a bit too much for a very new modder. So, I am posting it here. Too either gather others to help make it or attempt to find someone willing to make it. Either way I will be learning CK and hopefully start working on this project until I get some interest.

Got rid of outskirts market and I'm not seeing anymore issues with Civil unrest, will report later if the other CTDs/freezing return(s). -

Here's the log when CTD with WAR civil unrest. I'd like to have that mod... -
I've tested this via creating new characters and running into the zone that constantly either freezes or crashes. I removed Warzone Civil unrest and that seems to have stopped most CTD. But, now it's freezing and going unresponsive. More often then not when it freezes, anywhere it ends up having the Unable to bind script TimedLightSwitch to (xxxxxxxx) because their base types do not matchSpam in the log just prior. I have no idea what mod is causing that. I've removed anything to do with lighting and such and tested via a new game and it still comes up. This isn't the full log, it's quite long. So reducing it a bit.I'm getting fed up with not being able to manage this. I've had generally all of these mods a while ago (months) and I had no issues. Now all of the sudden I do a clean setup and I'm having nothing but issues. (I had also about 221 mods before, only 112 now.) I'm using Mod Organizer at this time. (makes it a lot easier to clean mods up.)
