  1. One of my favorite moments in fantasy media is in the Fellowship of the Ring when frodo is being chased by the nazgul. I can watch (or read) that over and over and never get bored. I believe that with the right selection of antagonists this can be replicated if not improved upon by skyrim modders. So, If anyone is interested I am requesting a mod that makes you the 'prey', like frodo. Perhaps let us choose our stalkers. I would love to be chased by werewolves, draugr, witchs, ghosts, etc. Granted we will obviously be able to defend ourselves but the pursuit will never end. And imagine the toll that will be wrought upon the towns and cities you stay in. You want to go out collecting plants and mining metals? You may have to think twice about that. (I really really want to evil laugh right now) Thanks for reading.
  2. Greetings, I've been skulking the forums and nexus files for awhile. I've enjoyed the community contributions to skyrim a great deal in fact they are the reason I bought the game. I've fooled around the creation kit alittle, but not much. Still I plan on moving forward with some mod ideas I have. I just had two questions regarding what is and isn't possible modding wise. No need to answer if you dont know. If you do have some knowledge then answer at your leisure; if u are willing. Can the three tiered system used with shouts be brought over to spells? Basically hoping that the longer I hold the attack button with a spell equiped I will get a slightly different effect the longer I hold down "cast". Can I bind a single (complex) action - toggle to a single key? For instance if Im getting my butt kicked I just want to type one button to block regardless fo what I have equipped. So if im using spell and sword all I need to do is hold one key to instantaneously unequip my spell and go into the guard stance. Also be nice if once I take my finger off the key I'd go back to my original configuration (hence why i used the word "toggle").
  3. Well if u can find it I'd be very grateful. I've looked all over Nexus and Steam Workshop and haven't found anything like it.
  4. I was hoping a more artistically talented individual would share my enthusiasm for this movie and help make some swords and armor inspired by it. Examples: http://medievalreader.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/75785-gif.jpg http://www.wildsound.ca/images/liam_neeson_in_kingdom_of_heaven.jpg http://www.ipekyolufilmfest.com/website/WebImage/Yazi/2009300Kingdom%20of%20Heaven%20-%201.jpg I really like the "Ibelin sword" featured in these pics due to its similarity to the sword from the Oblivion Knights of the Nine Expansion Crusader Sword shown below: http://images.uesp.net/9/99/OB-items-Sword_of_the_Crusader.jpg I also really like the helmets, armor and clothing featured in Kingdom of Heaven. Especially the traveling cloths featured in the above pictures. Thanks for reading, I hope this inspires an artist to make some great mods!
  5. I know its only been a day but am I to assume, due to the lack of replies, that this idea is in some way flawed?
  6. Looking into some things for modding purposes. Haven't quite got the hang of the Creation Kit yet though. I was curious if the three stage shout structure could be applied to spells. Consider a fire based example: Tier 1 (Instant Cast - Fus) Firebolt, Tier 2 (Charged - Ro) Fireball, and Tier 3 (Max - Da) Fireblast. On a secondary note I'm also trying to find a way to disable the idle spell fx. It doesn't make much sense to me for my hand to be on fire when I'm not doing anything. Also its cooler when the spell looks like it comes from nothing.
  7. If it can be done then I'll be more than happy to put in all the necessary work hours and then some to make it a reality. My biggest fear was whether or not it can be done in the first place. In the past my ambitions with modding have often outweighed the limitations of the game I wanted to mod. Thank you for replying to my inquiry and I'll definitely check out ur mod for research purposes. I've heard a lot of good things about it so I'm sure I can learn a lot from it. If anyone else has any good resources for me to check out before I start blindly coding away, please post some links.
  8. So I often find myself playin a mage in fantasy games and its quite often an enjoyable experience because I can set up my keyboard so that all my spells are just a single input away. However, I am finding myself frustrated with Skyrim because I cannot find any hotkey functionality like you might find in other fantasy games (D3, WoW, Dragon Age). Instead I am forced to go into my favorites everytime I want to use a different spell or set of spells. Now I'm no slouch with computers and I've been enjoying mods for over ten years now. I have some experience editing ini files and I want to know what I can do to fix this. I say cut out the unnecessary micro managing of constantly changing ur equipped spells and bind all the commands to go from one spell to another into one hotkey. For example: Everytime I hit the "x" key I want my character to immediately duel cast a fireball spell, without having to go into my favorites and equip the spell into both my hands. It seems to me that something must be done to eliminate the micro managing so that combat has a more steady and intense pace to it. On a side note, if anyone knows how to get rid of the idle magic FX I'd be interested in hearing from them as well. As fun as it may be to have game show fire in ur hands when u have firebolt equipped I prefer to go without those FX. To me magic is more fun when it shoots from empty hands. P.S. Mad Props to the creators of the Night Watch Armor. Just started using it and I must say its my fav. Also, props to warriorkeke I love ur work.
  9. Simply requesting the addition of spells that you can charge up so the longer u hold down the attack button the more damage it will do if/when it hits. Added magic affects can also be added the longer you hold down the attack button as well. This seems possible since shouts have a similar mechanic. For example take the fireball spell, a simple click will fire an instant flame projectile with no AoE. Holding it for a few seconds gives you the normal fireball, and finally holding it for a maximum amount of time gives you a larger fireball with added knockdown/knockback/explosive affects.
  10. Perhaps I was mistaken. My hope was to use assets already in game not create new ones.
  11. I have seen similar swords like the oblivion steel sword but never one that quite looked right...then again a shiny obliv steel sword might work. As for the LOTR swords I've been using Anduril for weeks now and I love it, just wanted the Kingdom of Heaven sword for a little more diversity.
  12. I've been playing with Skyrim mods for the last several weeks and so far have loved the additions this community has made to the game. I'd like to make a few minor mods myself and was hoping on bouncing a few ideas off you guys. Right now I'm planning to make a few minor combat changes to the game to make it alittle more aesthetically pleasing (to me). Dont worry I've modded a few other games before, the changes I plan to make are simple and dont require new models or animations as far as I know about these things. (1)First and foremost I simply would like to have a faster weapon switching mechanic. Something that allows me to make a few different presets such as sword and spell, bow and arrow, two handed, and duel wield single weapons. I personally think having to go into your favorites to change out your weapons really kills the pace of combat in Skyrim. So for this I'm thinking a script that binds 4 keys with 4 weapon presets would work. Only issue I see here is selecting which weapons I want to be a part of each preset but ATM I'm pretty sure there is a "last equipped weapon" variable that would work here. Thoughts? (2)Next I'm trying to come up with a mod that will make all off handed weapons appear invisible unless they are in use. A good example of this would be in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning which only shows ur shield when you're actually blocking. I know not everyone would care for this type of game mechanic but I think it would look great with off hand daggers such as the DRC Mod - Defender II. It seems to me if you choose to duel wield a longsword and a dagger then the dagger should only come out when u actually use it. (3)In conjunction with the previous mod idea I hope to change the power attack animations used for the one handed main hand weapon to the power attack animations the two handed weapons use. Specifically I want the forward and backward two handed power attack animations to take over for those sad looking one handed power attack animations. That's it! Any advice from the forum vets would be greatly appreciated.
  13. Simply requesting that a modeller add Liam Neeson/Orlando Bloom's Ibelin Sword from the movie Kingdom of Heaven to the game. Also, I request this as a one-handed weapon. No rush on this, I just think it would be a great addition to Skyrim.
