I also gave up on the subject ever since making this thread, and now your solution gave me some hope to try again, i'm not exactly expert on this whole texture and modeling scene but i'm willing to try, i'll try your solution and hopefully post any progress, i really hope they can bring Nif Merge to SE, i did read it was problematic due to some .dll extensive change, anyways i'll give it a shot thanks! I didn't try the character in a new game yet, and i also didn't change their weight, i do however noticed that the CK kept changing their weight to 50 when i had them on 100 in game, i don't know if that was a problem on itself tho Another issue i've noticed is that when saving the changes on the mod, i see an error pop out about the hair i'm trying to add: "No morphs found in TRI filePlease do not use empty TRI files." then again anything i try to change to custom on them seems to lead to dark face everytime. i remember that about a year ago i made this character with custom hair through CK and it worked out, plain and simple, now that i recently tried to change a few things, wham, dark face. But i will give it a shot again, just needed a break from this mess lol This might explain why the first time i blindly added a custom follower with custom hair worked, never used racemenu nor knew about saving Facegen, interesting.

Greetings, so i made a custom follower from the base game recently and I've been trying to change the default look with some mods but after doing so on CK and saving the FaceGeom with CTRL+F4 i just get a dark face in game, if i go back to vanilla look, it goes back to normal. Anyone knows what do i have to do here? I tried Nifmerge but it seems it doesn't work for SE and the CK isn't helping either. Any help would be appreciated, cheers!

Hey, really, thanks for the info and where to look for a workaround, it does seem that creating a unique modded follower is top secret stuff, most people run into problems making theirs and none of the post i saw said anything about other programs lol The funny irony of this is that some time ago, i made this custom follower through CK by just creating them in game and then using SPF to port the model to CK, with custom hair, and it worked, recently i went back into the game and had the idea of adding new eyes to her and wham, dark face afterwards, from there all went to hell now, no way i can add anything custom through CK now, maybe it was because of an update to it? Idk. But i'm gonna poke around with this, if anything i have time to learn these new tools. Thanks again for the info, will post my progress at some point, hopefully. Cheers!

Greetings, so i made a custom Follower in CK using the base game files and it worked without issues, but once i add a mod to the mix, eyes, hair styles, etc, i get a dark face bug on my follower, opening CK to revert the changes to vanilla fixes the issue. So far my procedure has been: - Creating a stand alone plugin file for this Follower, i don't use one of the mod's existent plugin files to save in them. - When i try to modify anything, i use both master data files skyrim.esm and update.esm plus the follower's .esp file as active alongside the plugin files from other mods but not set as active. - After saving the changes i hit CTRL+F4 on my follower's file and the facegen data is created. The end result is always the same, dark face, anyone knows what am i doing wrong here? Or is it impossible to edit custom followers like this through CK? I did a clean install of Skyrim to avoid other issues but here's what i have installed at the moment: - SKSE 64 - The Eyes of Beauty - UNP Female Body Renewal Any help provided is much appreciated, cheers!

Any ideas on how to get the codes from each character? help "<NPC name>" 4 npc Thanks for the suggestion but sadly it didn't work, i left the idea of fixing this bug behind and finished the game instead, the bug is still there sadly, however now that i'm done with the main story i'll be tinkering with the console to see if i find a fix for this. Sadly no, Preston and the crew still stay at the Museum, but as how i see your problem you might wanna send other people to sanctuary, any new followers or people you can send to, also might wanna place some crops on the ground then tell anyone in the settlement to work on the crops. Just hold V to open the build menu then press E on anyone in the settlement and then press E again on any crop, be sure it's highlighted in blue. That should increase the food in the settlement, let me know if that helps!

Quick update, i managed to find a workaround about the missions, the only thing you need to do is continue helping the settlements that need your help and improve their happiness, i'm not sure if this is important or not but you might want to do these things while having Preston as follower. That way i managed to make him talk about a few other settlements that needed our help and got a few new missons, after claiming those places he approached me to talk about the Castle, from there it went smoothly. HOWEVER, Preston and the crew still stay at the museum for some reason, at least you can progress. Hope this info helps out someone, Cheers!

I'm currently having an issue with one of the followers in Fallout 4 [Minor Spoilers] So what's happening is that Preston and his crew are still at the Museum of Freedom after finishing several quests from him, from "When freedom Calls" to "The First Step" including building Sanctuary with food, power and water. However right after "The first step" i noticed that Preston and the crew left Sanctuary and couldn't find them at all, so i kept to my own business after that, finally after a while doing other quests i went inside the museum again and found them all there, when they should be at Sanctuary, i tried talking to Preston and he speaks and follows me without any problem, but if i dismiss him he goes back to the museum instead of sanctuary. This could be aslo the reason why i haven't been able to start the next quest about taking over the castle. I do have a few settlements including "The first step" settlement up to a 70% hapiness, however i have only saved the farm from a raider attack, i don't know if this has something to do with the problem, however i don't get messages anymore about settlements being in trouble. The issue here is that i can't backtrack to before this problem because i'm way too far into the main story and side quests so far that would be at least a day or 2 of full gameplay, sadly i came to realize that it was a bug too late. If someone knows a way to fix this or at least get the next mission moving that'd be great, any kind of help is apreciated! Thanks in advance!
