  1. Hi there! Well as my first post in the forums I would like to thank the site and the community for such a great job. I've been an user of "nexusmods" since aprox. 2013 and the quantity and the quality of extra content for so many games that I love is just outrageous. So thanks for being such an amazing site. Now that said! First I will like to know what's for you the best version of Skyrim to mod (original or special edition). And for not loosing the point of the post is not necessary to argument the decision. Just write the version you're playing in top of the list  The goal I have with this post is to make a list of mods for Skyrim at date December 2017 that improves the original experience from 2011 without washing out the Skyrim taste. For me and in this case in particular a good mod selection would be one that: 1.- Don't alter the original taste/feeling/gameplay of the original Skyrim. 2.- Its lore friendly 3.- Keeps it simple. 4.- Don't forget that the main goal is always playing after the modding and not screencaping. So we have a list that respect the artistic job of the developers (in this case we will skip beating drakes as "Son Goku" ). Try to keep it simple with no more than 10 mods per section (being a total of 30/40 mods). My own experience modding "The Witcher 3" is that having like 100+mods installed is never worth in the way that when you just take half of these mods the game looks actually the same and you save yourself crashes, performance issues and whatnot. Which takes me to the 3rd point that is to keep always in mind that the first goal here is to play the game. So something that makes the game terrific for a screen cap but is not optimal for playing would be a no-no (nights so dark makes it impossible to play at night or get into a cave, god rays that are unbearable when facing them in the field... you get the idea) To organize the list I've think to divide it in 3 sections. How I understand modding in some cases is more of a different artistic approach (different palette, skins for the different weapons/armors) than a pure technical improvement (better textures or lightning for instance). So the first is gonna be for the graphics department, the pure technical improvement. And the idea here is simple: Which is in your opinion the best set of mods to get Skyrim look the best today? The second is going to be for everything that adds changes to the game the actually improves the original experience objectively. This is everything that developers didn't think in the 1st place but now 6 years after is a no-brainer that SkyUI works better for PC than the original HUD  So everything about that. The third section is special, because here enters to play the artistic department. I mean new hairs is not something that takes the game to a new technical level but for some would make the game look better, right? Hairs, new flora, new models, new bodies, new clothes, armors, weapons, new animals, skins of all kind.... are welcome in this section  And in the end I would like to add a special section. And this is all the mods that actually changes the gameplay of Skyrim BUT they're so good that they deserve a special mention. This is for example (don't know if there is but is just an example) a mod that would make The Dovakin able to climb with a meter of climbing to make a Skyrim: Breath of the wild xDD. Wouldn't be ideal for the official list but hey, please put this down cause it would be at least worth to try. The goal is also to create an honest list of mods to play Skyrim in 2017 so people can come and share avoiding the click baiting thumbnails in YouTube showing.... well, something that's not the game. Any post, comment or adding will be much appreciate it. So please feel free and write anything you feel like to :hurr: THANKS!
