  1. Hello everyone, After the 5.0 Patch I started up a new playthrough with the modlist/load order attached to this post. The game was stable throughout all of Act I, with a singular exception. The modlist had both the Script Extender Achievment Enabler and the independent Achievment Enabler Mod (a relic of old modlists from prior patches, where only the SE wasn't working properly for me). Having both mods makes the game not boot reliably, the process will start, but takes no CPU/GPU load and doesn't actually do anything. I can get the game to boot under this configuration, but it often takes 20+ attempts of killing the process in task manager and attempting to run the game again. After uninstalling the independent mod, I started getting extremely frequent crashes, so I reinstalled the independent mod and set it to "Disabled" in Vortex (I use Vortex for most installations and BG3MM to manage the load order and actually run the game). Using this configuration, I was able to play through the latter half (or third) of Act I without a single crash. After reaching Act II, I had a couple of crashes during companion conversations, but they were separated by a few hours, without any other commonalities. Since reaching the more populated areas of Act II (Moonrise, Reithwin, and Last Light), I'm receiving much more frequent crashes without any commonalities, sometimes just exploring, some during combat, and some during conversations or cutscenes. I have all types of logging enabled in BG3MM; however, the SE runtime logs don't appear to have any relevant information towards the crashes and the Osiris logs are completely empty. Edit: After the most recent game hotifx, I have updated a number of mods which I had left untouched due to the file loading problem. After updating these mods, I do not seem to be experiencing crashes during exploration or combat anymore (I've only played a little bit, so this is a preliminary conclusion as of writing) but I am still receiving crashes during dialogue or on the quest reward screen immediately after dialogue. The logs remain unhelpful in narrowing a probable cause. If anyone is able to provide any insight towards this problem, I'd be greatly appreciative. Thanks all. QoL & E + CO v2.json
  2. It has not been necessary to run the injector as a workaround up to this point (i.e. the default d3d9.dll wrapper has worked as anticipated so far). I can give it a try and see if that solves anything though; however, I will state that all of the ENB effects are working properly in game and I can play indefinitely until I attempt to save or run into a random CTD due to texture loading or some such.
  3. Unfortunately loading a previous save only seems to prolong the inevitable. Eventually the issue reoccurs and I'm back to the same problem. Furthermore, my crashes are not isolated to the region of original occurrence, but are spread over the majority of the areas in Skyrim. Also, I don't have any automatic save methods active (all of mine are completely manual saves) so this does not happen during area transitions anyway. Thanks for posting the suggestion though, I appreciate someone trying to assist.
  4. Below is the last chunk of the log. All I did was load up my save and wait 24 hours before saving in the Whiterun cell mentioned in the first post. Additionally, I can post the rest of the log if necessary, but it's just initialization stuff for various mods. Papyrus Log:
  5. Yes, the save has been run through the script cleaner as well as the save cleaner tool to remove conflicting references, the crashes still occur.
  6. I would like to preface this by saying that I am currently unsure if this is a problem with Skyrim itself, or with mods (though it seems to go beyond mods) so if this topic needs to be moved to the mod troubleshooting forum instead, please let me know. Additionally, I apologize in advance for the wall of text, but I figure that more than enough information is better than less. My Skyrim is currently experiencing CTD's when I attempt to save the game; however, it is not a blanket CTD per se. Currently, this save ctd only occurs in specific cells; for example, ifI travel to the cell outside of Whiterun and save I have no problems but if I save anywhere around Falkreath it crashes Furthermore, if I wait for a day in the same Whiterun cell which functions perfectly, the game will CTD when I attempt to save after the wait period. I have dozens of hours on the character with which this issue first began arising (which is why I cannot attribute it to any particular mod, my load order has not changed since the inception of the character); at first I thought it was a corrupted save or isolated issue to that specific character, after attempting to create a new character I know that this is not the case. After creating said new character and attempting to save right after the character creation (using the Alternate Start mod) the CTD was present as it was on the ongoing character. The issue first arose after completing the Dark Brotherhood side quest to kill Agnis, the first CTD occurred within the fort prisons when I attempted to save. After the crash I reloaded to guarantee that the problem was consistent, and not a one-off; after verifying that it was consistent, I searched the web for solutions and attempted a number of them (including the self kill method and cleaning orphan scripts and refers using the proper tools). I appeared to have success initially with reloading a previous save before entering the fort and completing the quest again; I was able to save within the premises of the fort. However, I was unable to exit the fort to the exterior cell; using the coc whiterun command to leave (seeing as I would have been stuck otherwise), I was capable of saving within the Whiterun cell. I then returned to the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary to turn in the quest (assuming that the problem was solved -- or at least isolated to the fort, as I was able to save in Whiterun), at which time I attempted to save within the sanctuary but crashed again. At this point I decided to test the extent of the problem, travelling to various points within Skyrim and attempting to save; suffice it to say, the crash occurs in more regions than it does not. Seeing that the problem does not seem to be mod related or tied to a specific save or character, I moved on to attempt solving the problem as if it were a problem with the Skyrim files. After attempting the common fixes (including file revalidation) and a few others I found through research, the problem persists. Thus, I am here, asking for the assistance of the Nexus community on the issue. A final note, I do use ENB, specifically the RealVision settings with version 0.266 (the latest). The only settings I have changed are to set the memory settings significantly higher (the video memory reserved is set to max and the reserved memory is set for 34GB, well within the range of my system specs below). I have provided both my system specs and mod load order below (and yes the load order has been run through LOOT, checked multiple times, all of the correct patches and cleaning procedures, etc.). I appreciate any help that can be given and would greatly prefer to not reinstall Skyrim (again) if it all possible. System Specifications: Load Order:
  7. I appear to have solved the issue. Within my Skyrim.ini file, the default settings for the Papyrus log were not present and the log generation was causing the crashes due to lack of memory allocation.
  8. I have recently started playing Skyrim again and have installed a number of mods. I would first like to note that I did a clean install of the game and all of the mods, as well as beginning a new game from scratch. During the few hours I've put into this new play-through i have encountered a number of crashes which do not share a common location (exterior vs. interior cell, etc.) and are not consistent in time (i.e. each crash happens after a different amount of time into the game after start-up). Most of the time I have spent in-game on this character has been either in and around Windhelm (I have purposely transitioned between numerous exterior cells to determine if there was any commonality to the crashes) so I cannot say if the problem persists in other areas, though I suspect it does. The papyrus logs also seem to lack consistency; a number of errors appear in each log, but I have been able on numerous start-ups to play for half an hour or greater after receiving these errors almost immediately upon entering the game. I have included my system specs, and my load order in the spoilers below; it should also be noted that I am using the RealVision ENB preset. I have attached one of my papyrus logs as a separate file (the spoiler tag is not cooperating for that text segment), it is the largest of the last four I have that meets the upload criteria (two of them are too large, the other contains almost no information). I would like to note that the Extended Color Sliders and Alternate Start - Live Another Life mods are placed after the patches because they seem to either fail to work or cause (predictable) crashes otherwise. Any help that could be provided would be appreciative; additionally, I would prefer not to reinstall everything unless absolutely necessary. Thanks in advance for any assistance. 9. After following the method you suggested, I found the culprit. The file talent_aoe_duration.ncs in the zz_JX Resources folder installed for Dragon Age Extended seems to be the source of the issue. Thanks for the suggestion, I hadn't bothered to approach it that way as I knew some of the installed mods had modified other game files in a non-restorable manner and figured that deleting those resources would just cause more damage. EDIT/UPDATE: This problem occurs because the file talent_aoe_duration.ncs is present in both the core resources of DA Extended and Combat Tweaks, for one reason or another, the game will not simply utilize the aspects of the file which is loaded later during start-up. Basically, you just have to choose the file which makes the modifications more to your liking. More specifically, there are many duplicate files between these two mods, but only this one seems to cause a conflict which results directly in a detriment to gameplay/game stability. --Rashideddin
  10. As the topic states, I have recently begun having issues with ctd's on first entering the korcari wilds during the ostagar mission series and on area transitions in the circle tower during the broken circle questline. The ctd's in the circle tower do not occur on area transitions during the mage origin questline; additionally, I am unaware as to whether or not these ctd's will occur in other areas of the game as I cannot access those areas. Attempting to transition between areas within the circle tower and into the korcari wilds (these two events are on separate playthroughs, clearly), even using the console debugging menu, causes a ctd with no error messages other than the obligatory "Dragon Age Origins has stopped working" notification. These ctd's are a recent occurrance and only affect characters started after a certain date. I still maintain two characters of varying progression within the story that can be played without any notable problems; however, any new characters I now create, regardless of race/origin/class will inevitably ctd on attempting to access the korcari wilds. The one character which was able to progress beyond the wilds after the point during which the ctd's began occurring could not achieve area transitions within the circle tower; however, this character was able to progress through all three official DLC for the base origins game without any problems. The crashes in the circle tower were the first occurrence of the problem, using the debug menu I tried various methods to progress in the storyline, including setting plot flags for completion of the broken circle questline, this tactic resulted in my being placed in the first room in the tower with Greagoir giving his normal congratulations and such. However, when attempting to leave the tower and transition to the map, the game would crash (before opening the world map). Currently, the only method of troubleshooting I have been able to come up with was to delete any additional mods installed between the time that the crashes on the character in the circle tower began and the last time I played the game prior to that incident (when no problems were had). The deleted resources consisted of various tattoo pack mods, none of which were in direct use in any of my playthroughs; after deleting these mod resources I then started a few new games with different races/origins/classes, all of these new characters also crashed at the korcari wilds transition (I also had a new character crash in this manner before deleting the mod resources). I am unsure as to what can be done further exempting an entire reinstall of the game and the associated mods (something I would very much like to avoid). Any assistance pertaining to this matter would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance. --Rashideddin Currently Installed Mods (in no particular order): Mod Notes: All mods were installed manually (or with DAUpdater) and are currently active unless otherwise stated in the list. The "INACTIVE" tag should be self-explanatory, the "NMM" tag means that the mod and its resources were installed using the latest version of the nexus mod manager. Additionally, all mods are updated to their latest respective versions. System Specs: General Notes: If any further information is required, please inform me and I will post the requested information as soon as I am able.
  11. After deactivating and uninstalling a number of mods including Skyrim redone and the exclusive animation path I no longer crash during the Helgen intro; however, a new problem has arisen. During the cart ride to the gate my character is sitting in a position that suggests he is driving the cart (though is partially stuck inside the cart itself), and the imperial driver normally at that location is simply standing in the road as the cart passes by. In and of itself this is not a big deal, but is part of the larger issue that the gate to Helgen is closed during the cut-scene and both the cart with the PC and the one in front of it get stuck at the gate, meaning that the cut-scene cannot proceed and I cannot continue with the game. I will post my load order here should it be needed; as far as BOSS is concerned only three unrecognized plugins are active: the WATER Plants.esp and the two .esp associated with the Drakul/Medusa armors and Odahviing reskin. All mods have been cleaned and the recommended tags have been placed; also, the bashed patch has been rebuilt using the current load order and mod setup. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Edit: The issue seems to have resolved itself, if anything further arises I will either continue to post it in this thread or create a new thread depending on the nature of the issue; thank you again for all of your assistance everone.
  12. FNIS is giving warnings but no errors, I posted the log here. Only one warning really stood out to me, the inconsistency with the skeleton animations thing at the top of the log; if you see anything else that may be causing an issue let me know. The crash still occurs right after the intro during the Helgen cutscene (no dialogue is reached)
