  1. I am working on fixing a mod "Wasteland Defense" for those who aren't familiar you place objects to build a base and create guards to protect it. the problem we are having is that the guards that patrol constantly go through all the objects and get stuck. my question is that is there a way to make it so that they avoid said spawnable objects and go around
  2. im getting involved with geck too going to see if i can come up with anything
  3. Skyrim nexus may have some scripters that are familiar with guards and such. i know one mod i played in particular, I can't quite remember the modders name its called "Moonpath to Elswyr" he has roaming guards set up... maybe try and get into contact with him? scripts should be similar right?
  4. somebody previously stated it i think, but a mechanic to have travelers and merchants pass through or possibly set up shop could be pretty cool. say like do a quest chain for the gun runners and they'll have a merchant set up shop for you. my thoughts for the future of WD is basically an immersive "aftergame" to keep you attached to playing after the campaign is done. something fun and constantly changing or as close to it as possible. maybe even a quest chain to have your base become "factionized" (making up words now) to 1 of the 3 major factions, (NCR, Legion, House) and then by doing so allow for "reinforcements" to help add to your bases security. An Agriculture system is another option although i think RTS has that. if you really want me to be imaginative; a full scale war system. where you have a home base and eventually can spread out to make smaller bases and the enemy also manufactures bases. but that may be a bit too creative i dont know. could have a "squad" system for the patrols where Guard A and Guard B stay together while Guard C and Guard D keep to them selfs as well. Minefields? traps? allow companions to call your base home? bunkers? I'm just throwing out ideas. I think all of them are good but most may be out of reach at least for the time being. Also, any news on the guard problems?
  5. I just saw some pretty small turrets last night when i was wandering around let me get the code EDIT: they are Mark 1 turrets - 000e8b25 found them at the end of Vault 11
  6. so the problem is that you cannot save the scripts using Geckpu or a different program?
  7. sounds like your having a blast. im going to keep looking for scripters as well i really want to see this thrive and i know it has the potential to be the number 1 mod.
  8. I've been looking for scripters but haven't had much luck at all so far. hows it comin on your end?
  9. it sounds as though you may have discovered the problem with the stationary guards, which if so a big congratulations i wonder if we can get a scripter to come in to at least check your work?
  10. i rearm the guards too so it doesnt matter horribly which stationary guards are kept just so long as they arent causing crashes, i also think itd be a cool idea if they paced a bit so they dont seem so inhuman.
  11. personally i think fixing the bugs should be the biggest priority. if you can make the mod stable it will increase the downloads and in turn increase the support. and then after its stable focus on enhancing the mod and giving it more depth EDIT: a few of the bugs/problems i have noticed and others have mentioned is the stationary guards first and foremost. then scavengers not looting everything, the enemies being too hard or too easy, and the patrols getting stuck or going through the walls
