  1. Thank you. It disappoints me that there is no way to renounce or 'cure' myself if I take this vow. Like with lycanthropy. I want to finish the Trinity Restored quest but I don't want to irrevocably ally myself with an evil daedra. As for the console, i use it occasionally (very occasionally) and I use the UESP site all the time. I didn't know you could ask questions of it. Like "what happens if I don't take the oath?" willit answer that one?
  2. Thanks, again. Most helpful. For a short while (enough that I figured it out myself) I didn't think I was gonna get an answer. I appreciate it.
  3. Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time. Except in extreme circumstances, I pretty much played the game, the first time through, as it came at me. But i really didn't like being forced into corners. At the same time, I don't want to abandon questlines if I don't have to. Eventually, I'll do Cidhna. [take a moment, if you will, to consider my question entitled Trinity restored...same kind of deal--I have an aversion to selling my soul]
  4. Second playthrough. Nepos and Cidhna--I fast traveled to Riften the moment I walked out of Nepos' house. Wasn't looking forward to Cidhna. What now? What will happen if I go back to Markarth? Will I be arrested?
  5. Standing in the Nightingale Temple with Brynoff (?) and Karliah. Dithering. Probably unheard of but what if i don't take the oath? What happens? Does the questline just fizzle out? Not sure I want to be a 'guardian. Is there no way to be free of the oath?
  6. I've just come back to Riften for the umpteenth time and went to enter the Ragged Flagon (for the umpteenth time) to meet with Karliah. but now it seems I need a key. Why is this happening and where do I find a key to the Ragged Flagon?
  7. Thanks. I run Skyrim on Ultra as well, but that's not really the question / issue. I made changes to two...out of ten(?)...settings in my Skyrim game profile, not knowing anything, just guessing. That got rid of the stutters and tearing (I don't even know if those are the proper terms for what I was seeing...) and now I want to know how the rest of those setting should be set.
  8. I have an AMD rx 580 running on an I7 Win 10 pro system. The video card installs its own settings app to the task bar. The gaming section allows you to scan for and set up a setting for games...in this case Oldrim. Does anyone know what the optimal setting should be? Skyrim doesn't run correctly on the default settings. Right now I have the "Radeon Anti-lag" on and "wait for vertical refresh" off except if the application specifies it. Those are the only setting I have changed from the default.
  9. I am more or less at the end of the Revealing the Unseen quest and have followed the synod agent into the occulory. But no matter what I do I can't seem to place the focusing crystal. There is no gap like it shows in the UESP walkthrough photo and although there is an arrow on my HUD that says I'm standing on top of where the crystal is supposed to go, there are no prompt--pressing "e" doesn't help and I can't drop the crystal from my inventory. Is there a workaround or a console command to fix this?
  10. Hoping someone can help me with a problem. I went to see Malborn in Solitude. He asked me to give him the gear that needed smuggling into the Embassy. I agreed, but there were no options to choose which gear nor any warning that none was chosen when he said "great" and headed back to the Embassy. So now I'm in the 'larder' and the chest is empty and he won't leave the larder until I pick up my gear. And he's getting real nervous. I could go back to before I met him in Solitude but in between I investigated the Gaulder amulet which was nearby. I was hard pressed during that quest and would prefer not to go back and fight it again. Is there any thing I can do or any way--a console command, perhaps, that will allow me to move this quest forward? I have no armour and no weapons Delpjine has it all and I didn't get any choice about that either.
  11. I have a potion... ...in my inventory that does not have a descriptive label. Doing a search on UESP doesn't reveal anything either. Anyone know anything about this potion?
  12. I'm now running the latest version of NMM--the 'community version'. And I'm happy with it.Thanks to everyone for the replies.
  13. Then there is no reason to use that quick Levelers method to normalcy. The chance will be presented in a subsequent quest from the Jorrvaskr Companions. Thank you for the advice. I played this game through and finished it several years ago. Didn't remember how that all played out. I seem to recall that I cured myself and several others fairly late in the game. I'm looking to do it sooner this time around.
  14. Well thank you but I don't want Levelers Tower. Just want to be 'normal' again.
