  1. Sorry guys, I don't know where the missing image went and I don't have a copy of this tutorial on my computer any longer. I'll see if I can reproduce the missing image and edit the tutorial.
  2. It's perfectly acceptable to listen to your music in this manner. In fact, there are a couple mods that allow you to listen to your music in-game already by calling up music files in a particular directory of your harddrive to play. One is my Ipip player, but there are two or three other personal radio stations on the FO3Nexus as well. As long as you do not transfer the music files to another person, you're well within your legal rights.
  3. Working on this now actually - implemented with the Skin Complexion slider.
  4. Very impressive. I looked for a way to do this way back when - during my work on the defunct Desert Dishes mod. I thought, "If I can't figure it out, it can't be done!" Of course, I was wrong. That makes two things I've been wrong about: this and the pyramids. Seriously, how'd they build those damn pyramids?!
  5. The outfit: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5943
  6. I am keen on this idea. Especially after seeing that awesome noodle stand. A lot of potential there! I've been out of the modding circles for a while now but this has really piqued my interest.
  7. This problem is prevalent with many modders. I've seen it asked on the official GECK forum several times but it has not yet receieved a satisfactory answer. I remember reading that someone had success in removing LOD objects by unpacking, changing, and repacking the "Fallout 3 - Meshes.bsa" file but, given that the file is ~700MB, that workaround certainly isn't acceptable for release with mods.
  8. Dude... I'm still laughing... that was epic awesome. The guy on the car make me crack up serious and then the raider... lol... I'm gonna have a heart attack. The whole time I was thinking: I would be scared shitless if I wandered up to a line of folks dancing in the moonlight in the post-apocolyptic world... hahaha awesome.
  9. You shouldn't have to make your own RadioHello topic as it is common to all radio stations. If you accidentally changed vanilla entries then load your mod up in the FOMM Plug-in Editor or FO3Edit and delete the offending entries.
  10. Wow, looks great Jaysus! I'd help out but I've been away from buildings since Oblivion and it would take me days (or weeks) to get all that knowledge back. Definitely not my strong point. I will, however, start work on the PA system idea - and your mention of using scripting to announce special deals definitely sounds cool but I think it's going to take a lot of work. Of course, I'm willing to do it though. Keep up the good work! It's definitely paying off.
  11. Cool idea. I'd be happy to help out with this project. Sounds like fun. Now, I've released plenty of mods (Fallout 3 and Oblivion) but I think I'm getting out of the clothing & building gig. So how can I help? Well, I'm pretty much an expert on the radio and dialog system. I'm working on my scripting knowledge now (coming along nicely, actually). Also, I'm a fair hand at improv and voice acting (check out my radio station /ShamelessSelfPromotion). So I figure I can write dialog, quest lines, et cetera. I wouldn't really need a merchant but if I was graced with one, then he could sell instructional holotapes or something nifty like that. Like a retro-future bookstore. Also, I think it would be cool to have a PA system to announce products, specials, and various merchant information. The "radio station" would have a tight radius around the merchant grounds so that only people visiting would hear the deals. It can even be blocked from PipBoy3000 reception so that it doesn't show up as an actual radio channel. Okay, enough of me babbling. Sorry about the holes thing... hope that gets worked out. All your works looks great, by the way. Ciao.
  12. Actually and unfortunately, to get MP3's loaded is an entirely different (and rather complicated) process. To get the songs in there using this method, you have to turn them into mono wav files and replace the Temp.wav with the song before you click "Save" on each song so that it takes what it thinks is a recorded file but is in actually a music file. Erm... not sure if that sounded too complicated. Send me a message if you need more guidance.
  13. Ah I see the problem. The image itself is pure white, yes, but you need to look at the alpha layer. That's the actual image you see in your PipBoy. Also, if you make an all-white alpha layer, then you can use the regular image layer to design something but it may not look right inside the PipBoy due to all the texture overlays and shaders that the designers used.
  14. Actually it's pretty easy to change the icon for weapons and armor. All you need to do is use FOMM or FO3Edit and change the item's ICON and MICO URLs to match your texture file. Basically, the URLs in the ICON and MICO properties are like so: Interface\Icons\PipboyImages\Weapons\weapons_shiskebab.dds Change the path to point to your texture like this: CoolSword\Icons\CoolSword.dds Save the .ESP file and load it up when you start Fallout 3. Viola, your new icon is in the game.
