  1. Chevalier's Armor still doesn't work outside of camp. Will wait to see if the other set (from Loghain's second in command) works. All other item sets seem ok. Just ran across one that slipped in under the radar.
  2. I wonder if it's because there are 2 sets of Chevalier's Armor. The one I tried to equip came from Paedan's second-in-command, after the Crows Quest. The other set is worn by Loghain's Second.
  3. Back to DAO after a couple years off. Idle thought: If I take Shale thru Broken Circle and The Fade, will she have a Nightmare in The Fade? Also seem to have a problem with The Chevalier's Armor Item Set. I gave it to Sten, but I don't get an Item Set Symbol, and hi8s Will[power doesn't change.
  4. Like I said, too many mods added at once to track it down. Not worried about it. Just wanted to re-warn newbies about mods. Yes, "Adopted" would be what I want, but I can't load .dazip files. GOG.com's version doesn't have bin_ship file. And both DAModManager and DAModder. give me error messages when I try to open them. My Warden marrying into the throne was about the only ending I hadn't experienced yet. Spent the better part of 5 hours trying to get around the problems. Oh, well. Not a biggie. Off-Topic: Where can I find DA2? I hear it wasn't nearly as good, but if the price is right...
  5. I just finished scrolling thru all 2600 mods looking for one that would allow me to play a Human Noble Mage. Two exist, but neither runs on my version of DA. Anyway, I downloaded SEVERAL mods to try out in a new game. One or more of them, apparently, altered my character generating. For the first time ever, my Elven Mage was only given 2 points to spend on Talents instead of 3. At this early point in the game, 33% fewer spells matters. I'm not asking for help in figuring out which mod caused this. I added way too many. I just wanted to repeat what has probably been mentioned on this site more than once: Be careful which mods you load. They can have unfortunate consequences. Try not to load too many at a time (like I did). Harder to remove them and re-try to find where the problem occurred.
  6. I'm absolutely sure. There's no "bin_ship" folder. No way to properly load *.DAZIP files. "Adopted" is one of those, as is "Metaframe Items", which claims also to be able to create Human Noble Mage. Neither one runs.
  7. "Adopted" apparently won't work for me. I have the Dragon Age Game from GOG.com, and they don't seem to have included daupdater.exe.
  8. Questions from a nimrod: What is Daupdater.exe? And how do I access the .ini file? By any chance, is there a mod that will upload thru Nexus Mod Manager?
  9. Is there a mod that allows Human Nobles to play the Mage Origin?
  10. So... were they worth something at one time? Could you cash them in for something on Bioware's site?
  11. In the "Black Vials" Quest, 6 phylacteries (each containing a revenant for battle) are scattered about Ferelden. One of them is available only one time, during one random encounter, in a Denerim "Back Alley." Not "Dark Alley." If I miss finding it, or don't remember to look, that phylactery is gone forever, and my Warden only kills 5 of the 6 Revenants. Is there any way to move that phylactery, revenant, and encounter, to one of the "permanent" locations in Denerim, like the "Run Down Back Alley"?
  12. Welcome William. Are you on your first playthrough of Dragon Age: Origins? If so, what character did you choose for your Grey Warden? How far into the game are you?
  13. TSP is my favourite. But like DAA, so integral to the game that most don't think of it as DLC. After that I'd say LS, because it's so completely independent of the main storyline. It's truly a minigame of its own. WH was a totally satisfactory conclusion for me, but having done it (and explored all three options) the replay value dropped in a hurry. My least favourite, (that I'm willing to name) is GoA. That's partly due to a personal/technical issue. The lower-end monitors I had for many, many years did not make the difference between the "red" glow and the "purple" glow very distinct. Spent hours being frustrated the first time through just trying to figure out why I couldn't get anywhere. Have yet to have a go with my new Dell G-Sync. TSP is my #2 favorite. I thought the developers put a lot of thought into Shale's background. And (sorry Alistair lovers), I think Shale has the most unique and interesting personality of any DA:O character.
  14. Which is your most (and least) favorite of the DA:O DLC's? I know Awakenings is an obvious answer. It's the longest, most detailed of the DLCs, by far. But, I'm going to cast the first vote for Return to Ostagar. When my party encounters King Cailan on the bridge, it's heart-wrenching. Don't leave Alistair in camp for this one. As for my least favorite, it's the Darkspawn DLC. I've never played it. Have zero interest in role-playing a darkspawn who's out to kill the last Gray Warden. So, which are your most (and least) favorites? And why?
